Finally! It's the start of the new school year. I can't believe I'm already an 8th grader.
My summer was very uneventful and boring. I basically stayed home all the time. If I wasn't at home, then I was tutoring some rich kids in the neighborhood.

As I walked past the reception area (lobby), I noticed many new students. They all looked younger than me. Excitedly, I made my way up the stairs and rush towards my classroom.

.... Thud!

"I'm so sorry", I quickly say to the girl I bumped into. She lifted her head, and I swear I saw an angel infront of me.

"It's alright, I wasn't really that careful either", she laughed a little.

"If you don't mind me asking, are you a new student? I haven't seen you here before."

"Yea, I just moved here from Columbia... Oh! I'm Angeline by the way", she replied nervously.

"Oops, where are my manners.... I'm Rose. Nice to meet you", I replied. "Do you know where your class is?"

"Um.. let me check.. It's 14F".

"Oh, you're a year younger than me. Here, let me show you the way."

"Thank you".

We continued to walk in silence until I couldn't bear it anymore.

"So, what brings you to Texas?'

"My father got promoted so we moved here during summer".

"Do you have any siblings?"

"Yea, my younger brother is in year 2", she replied.

As we got closer to her classroom, I felt a bit sad that we had to part ways.

"Well, this is your class. Hope you have a great day. See you around, Angeline"

"Thank you for walking me to class. See you, Rose."

After she entered her class, I slowly made my way to my classroom.
I really hope I can see her again.

[In the classroom]

"Hey short humans"

"Hey Rosie", "Sup", my two best friends replied at once.

I made my way to my seat next to Jade. To other people she may look intimidating. With her pretty features, and straight posture, matched with her undeniably charming eyes, everyone wishes to be her. On the other hand, Samantha (Sam for short) is a total tomboy. She's very outgoing and loves playing sports. Don't mistake her for a "dumb blonde" because of her hair. Actually, she is the smartest person I know.

"Who was that girl you were walking with earlier? I saw you when I was going to class" said Sam.

"Hmm? Oh that was a new student that I bumped into when I was rushing to class. She's a year younger than us and her name is Angeline". I rumbled out.

"Oh so we are interested huh?" teased Jade.

"Who said. I just gave you all the info I know so that you wouldn't keep asking".

"Hmmmm...okay.." Sam squinted her eyes. She does that when she doesn't believe something.

"Anyways, are you guys gonna go to soccer tryouts afterschool?" I tried to change the topic.

"DUH, is that even a question?" laughed Sam

Minutes later, the teacher entered the classroom, and English class started....
