"She's not just going to wake up."
"I said please!"
"It doesn't work like that!"
Tori's eyes were shut as she slowly began to awake. She didn't know where she was or how long she was out. She heard voices, a couple of them, and tried to match a face to each voice but, it was a bit difficult. The room felt cold, and Tori could feel she was laying in something.
"Hey! You two. If you don't cut it out, I'm going to bash your heads together so hard, you'll be lying in one of these beds." Okay, that was Mae.
"That seems a bit harsh, Mae." Charlie.
"I'd pay to watch that." Lee.
"Madam Pomfrey said she would be up today. So she should be waking up!" Fred.
"Mr. Weasley! If I have to keep kicking you out I will forbid you coming in here for the rest of the year!" Tori didn't recognize this voice.
"What if I'm hurt?"
"Enough! Ms. Silvers needs her rest!"
"I'm pretty sure she's had enough of that." George.
"Oi! Shut it! She's moving." Mae again.
Tori slowly gained just enough energy to open her eyes. She looked up to see a ton of faces circling around her. Mae, Charlie, Alicia, Angelina, Lee, and the twins all smiled at her.
"Rise and shine, sleepyhead." Mae grinned, stepping back so Madam Pomfrey could fuss over Tori. Tori tried to raise her head, but everyone quickly pushed her down.
"Don't raise your head dear. It still needs to finish healing." Tori looked around blankly at the room and everyone in it. If she was correct... this was the hospital wing.
"Victoria, can you name the people here?" Madam Pomfrey looked at Tori's friends. Tori weakly nodded, "Mae, Charlie, Angelina, Alicia, Lee, Fred... wait no, George, and Fred."
"Very good, here drink this." Tori was handed a vial of green juice, she didn't want to think what was in it as she scarfed it down. "All of you, sit."
Her friends took a seat but Charlie and Mae kept standing. "We'll be back, we have to go schedule something." The two of them left with a wave.
"Do you remember what happened?" Angelina asked, helping Tori become comfortable. Tori shut her eyes, thinking back. She remembered the screaming crowd and Lee's shouts about nonsense. "I remember... scoring and someone yelling at me, then I..."
"Was hit by a bludger that your bloody brother hit at you," Fred muttered angrily, Tori looked at him, confused. The rest of the group look a bit uncomfortable.
Tori only laughed bitterly, staring at the ceiling above. "Of course." She sighed. "Why am I not surprised?" Alicia patted Tori on the arm out of sympathy.
"It's fine," Tori told her gently. "How long was I out?" She asked, watching George and Lee glanced at each other. "How long was I out?" Tori asked again, looking at the rest of her friends.
"Almost two weeks."
"ALMOST TWO WEEKS?!"
"Shh!" Madam Pomfrey hushed the girl, quickly coming over. "Alright. Ms. Silvers will be able to join you all tonight at dinner. All of you, out!"
✧ ✦ ✧
"How long until dinner, Madam Pomfrey?" Tori asked the nurse for about the one-hundredth time that day. She had been laying in the bed all day, only practicing sitting up. So she was bored out of her mind. Madam Pomfrey looked at Tori with the same annoyed face from ten minutes ago.
"Ms. Silvers. I will let you know when you may leave." Tori sighed, bored once again. She heard the door open but didn't bother looking she continued to stare up at the plain white ceiling, waiting for something interesting to happen.
She turned next to her to see flowers on the table beside her. There had been a ton of cards from the team earlier but Tori read those. She didn't know who the flowers were from though.
"I heard my friend was awake." Tori sat up quickly, clutching the back of her head afterward. "Cedric!" She grinned at the Hufflepuff boy who came over quickly.
He took a seat next to her bed, setting his bag down as well. "Hi Tori, How's your head?"
"Fine. Madam Pomfrey's making me drink some green stuff. It works, but tastes terrible." She made a face at the thought of the green potion. It was disgusting, but she had to take it every hour. "What's happened since the match? No ones told me anything."
Cedric shrugged and began telling Tori about anything that she missed. Tori was definitely disappointed to find out she missed Halloween. But she heard that the twins had pulled a couple of pranks on Avalon for payback. They had dyed his hair bright red to match the Gryffindor quidditch robes and painted the number seventeen on almost all his books. They also had filled his quidditch locked with a ton of plastic snakes that jumped out at him.
Tori laughed out loud, think how embarrassed her brother must have been. She even felt a little bad for him. Cedric continued to fill her in about just certain drama, and how his quidditch game went.
"Oh no, I missed it!" Tori complained. "I was really looking forward to that!" Cedric just shrugged. "You were out like a light, I saw the bludger hit you. You're lucky you healed this fast."
"You came to my game?" Tori raised an eyebrow, now a little embarrassed. Cedric nodded. "Of course. Besides, I wanted to see if Gryffindor was going to sweep the floor with us."
Tori chuckled. "And?"
"I think we got our work cut out for us."
"Mr. Diggory," Madam Pomfrey walked over to them, handing Tori another vial of green juice. Tori internally groaned, gulping it down as fast as she could. "Do you mind taking Victoria down to dinner with you? I have a couple of last-minute patients and I don't want her going alone."
"Of course Madam Pomfrey. Anything to help." He turned to look at Tori with a grin. Tori gave Madam Pomfrey back the vial, almost ready to jump out of bed.
She placed her two feet on the floor, pushing herself upwards. Almost immediately falling over. Cedric caught her, propping her upright. "Yeah I'll just hand onto your arm," Tori's face went a little red, Cedric didn't seem to mind.
"That's fine. You ready to go?"
"Yeah," She leaned against him, walking out of the Hospital Wing. "Let's hope I don't have to go there regularly." Tori shook her head.
"No one ever wants to. Don't feel bad about what happened at the match, your team won and it happens to us all." Tori felt relieved that her team did end up winning, she turned to Cedric as they walked down a flight of stairs.
"What happened to you?"
"Shoved off my broom by a Ravenclaw who was a bit too competitive. I ended up breaking my arm, but I was out within a day." They now headed down another flight of stairs and went into the Great Hall.
"That doesn't sound fun," Tori noted as the two walked towards the Gryffindor table. "It's not. But I rather have a broken arm over a head injury." Tori chuckled, seeing the twins stand up to help her sit down.
Tori thanked the third year boy and waved him goodbye as she turned over to her friends. "Godric it was so boring in the hospital wing."
