xlv. mirror passageway
"The whole school's out there!" Fred announced, peering out of the tent door. "Even— blimey— Dumbledore's come to watch!"
Tori glanced up from the bench were she was tightening her boots. She noticed Harry poke his head out of the tent as well. He must have been feeling a lot of pressure and she didn't blame him. She had overheard Wood's little pep talk to Harry, it definitely didn't help.
"Alright. Let's get going. Remember, a clean game. Get in and out quick so Snape can't find a way to penalize us."
"Snape looks a little grumpy," Angelina muttered to Tori as they flew out and into the field. Tori chuckled, watching the potions master. To be honest, he did look grumpy.
"Today we have the Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor match! The teams look ready and excited to play! Professor Snape is having them gather around... the quaffle is up! Chaser Bell grabs it from the opposing team. She passes it along to Chaser Silvers, who dodges through Retiz and Rellow.
"— Passes to Johnson, who's looking amazing today... Off to Silvers— Back to Bell— to Johnson— To Silvers. Silvers takes on the Keeper and scores! Ten points to Gryffindor!"
Moments later there was a call of the whistle and Lee announced Hufflepuff was granted a penalty since George had hit a bludger at Professor Snape. Tori sighed, getting in position for it.
Luckily, Oliver guarded the hoops well and Angelina grabbed the Quaffle. She wove her way through the three Hufflepuff chasers and down the field. She threw it to Tori, who continued down the path.
Rellow was right next to Tori, trying to bump into her. Tori gave her a little push and sped off. Snape then rewarded Hufflepuff another penalty.
"I hardly touched him!" Tori yelled to no one. Katie scowled, agreeing with Tori. Hufflepuff took the penalty, scoring this time.
Lee continued to narrate, minutes later announcing that Harry was diving down towards the snitch. Tori noticed Cedric try to track down Harry.
Harry had pulled out of the dive, his arm raised in triumph, the Snitch clasped in his hand.
The stands erupted; it had to be a record, no one could ever remember the Snitch being caught so quickly.
Tori cheered loudly, throwing her fist into the air. She lowered herself towards the seeker as the crowd spilled into the field. The Weasley twins lifted Harry on their shoulders. They were going to the house cup!
The three chasers hugged each other, squealing. This was their chance! Tori noticed Snape land nearby, white-faced and tight-lipped. It was no secret that he wanted Gryffindor to lose.
The crowd slowly faded out, until it was only the Quidditch team. Tori wasn't surprised that Oliver was crying. "I'm so proud." He told them, wiping his face.
"It's alright, Wood," Fred told him. "Get it all out." Oliver rolled his eyes, looking at his team. "I'm very proud. Excellent work. Go enjoy yourself tonight! Monday, we start working again!"
Tori chuckled to herself once again as they left the pitch. She joined her friends on the walkout, talking to Lee excitedly. "You guys are totally going to win! Especially with Harry on your team!"
"I know! Finally, we get to celebrate the Quidditch cup!" Tori squealed. Her and Lee continued to talk about their chances of winning as the rest of the group trailed behind.
Fred was talking to George in a low voice. "I dunno, Georgie. She obviously doesn't feel the same way. It's useless."
"Useless? You obviously are blind, Tori definitely feels the same. Maybe she just doesn't know it yet. Besides, you won't even tell her."
"Yeah, cause that would work out well..."
"You never know. Oi, Tori! Fred—" George's mouth was covered quickly by Fred. "Shut up!" Tori turned around, facing the two boys. "What?"
George smiles into Fred's hand. "Nothing," Fred answered quickly, glaring at his brother. "We just... found a new passageway we should explore."
"Good! We need something to do!" Lee glanced excitedly at his friends. George threw him a look that Tori didn't notice. "Oh, dang. Actually... Lee and I have a charms assignment to work on... but... you guys should go!"
Tori glanced at Fred, who was glaring at his brother. "Uh, sure." She nodded, "What assignment do you guys have?"
"Doesn't matter. Have fun!"

"Sh. It should be right up here." Fred glanced up from the Marauder's Map. Tori nodded, glancing at the empty portraits near them. They were on the fourth floor, scouring the empty hallways.
They were quiet, searching for something. Fred was reading over the map, in which the marauders were writing to him.
"Mr. Prongs suggests Mr. Fred Weasley tells Miss. Tori Silvers how he feels."
"Mr. Moony tells Mr. Prongs to be quiet and that things take time."
"Mr. Padfoot would like to tell Mr. Moony to shut the hell up because it didn't work with Mr. Prongs."
"Mr. Wormtail would like to kindly ask Mr. Padfoot not to say hell, and tells Mr. Fred Weasley he is very close to the mirror."
Fred closed the map, coming across a small mirror. "Wait..." He whispered to Tori who was making small talk to a painting. She quickly came over, looking into the mirror.
"What did we do?" She asked, touching her reflection. Fred was about to read the map when the mirror suddenly faded away, "Wow... this is... huge."
It was. The passageway was large enough to hold an entire meeting inside. It was lit with weak candles that could probably be blown out with a tiny draft of wind. Tori was about to go into it when her foot was caught on the ledge.
She had a small fall, but instantly she thought back to her Christmas nightmare. Tori gasp abruptly, clutching her head as her heart began to pick up speed.
"Tori, hey, hey, hey! Woah, are you alright?" He sat her down inside the tunnel, "What's going on?"
Tori glanced at him. He's okay. She thought to herself. He's okay, that's enough.
"You're okay." She whispered. "Of course," Fred replied, sitting down across from her. "Why wouldn't I be?"
So Tori told him. She told him about her nightmare. She also told him that it wasn't her first time with that dream. She told him that she couldn't lose him or George, that she was scared to.
She was on the verge of tears, staring at the floor as she internally begged herself not to cry. Fred didn't say anything for a moment. He just stared at her.
"Whatever. It's over now." She began to get up, turning away. Fred got up as well but pulled her into a hug.
Tori leaned her head against his shoulder, hugging him back. She couldn't lose him.
"Alright. Enough of this sappy nonsense. We have a tunnel to explore!" She stepped away, grinning brightly as she grabbed the map, pulling the other boy after her.
Fred smiled, realizing one thing. His brother was right.
He was in love with Tori Silvers.
