v. staleblood

Sitting with the twins must have had some kind of effect on Victoria. She hardly paid any attention in class and it was normal for her to be laughing. Shockingly, a couple of other kids would gradually come over and sit with the trio.

First, it was Lee Jordan. He shrugged and sat down saying, "Any friend of Fred and George is a friend of mine. Besides, I have to meet the girl Fred won't shut up about." Fred quickly told him to be quiet and Victoria laughed.

Then it was Angelina, who came over cautiously and apologized to Tori before she sat down. "Hi, Victoria." She greeted her quietly, but Victoria turned to face her. "Oh, hi Angelina..."

"I'm kind of in an argument with Alyssa and I realized shouldn't have treated you that way I did. I shouldn't have let them treat you that way either. I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me. And possibly let me sit with you guys." Tori smiled but George popped in.

"I dunno Angelina, do you have what it takes. We're pretty elite over here." Angelina scoffed, "Please. She's hanging out with you three. How elite can it be?"

"Words hurt." Lee made a face and Tori moved over, making room for Angelina.

And by the end of the week, they had Alicia sitting with them too.

The Great Hall was decorated with a feel of the autumn breeze in the air. Halloween was just around the corner and you could feel the buzz of excitement in each and everyone one of the students. Unfortunately, Tori Silvers was not feeling it today, "I don't suppose you two want to tell me where you were during class, hm?" She sent a look at the twins and slugged down next to Angelina. You could tell she had just gotten out of a horrible potions class, her hair was ruffled and her eyes were filled with frustration. They had a quiz, next class, that Tori was sure she was going to fail. And she had to take notes for the twins, who decided to ditch, leaving hardly anytime for Tori to prepare.

She handed them each set of notes and George's looked over at Fred's. "Why is his neater than mine?" Tori shot him a look and George put his hands up. "Okay, god. If looks could kill..." Before Tori could roll her eyes, Angelina spoke up. "So, where were you two?"

"We were working on a little Halloween prank for our favorite potions teacher." Tori was sure it was George who spoke, was it? Yeah, it was George. Tori had gotten better at telling which is which. George's face is longer and a bit thinner than Fred's. But Fred had a smile that could knock someone off their broom.

"Yeah, we needed some time to prepare," Fred smirked, mischief was quite visible in each of the twins' eyes. It was a look Tori got to know well. Angelina and Tori glanced at each other, simultaneously rolling their eyes. "It's going to be amazing." George grinned.

"Hope it's not going to use a lot of dungboms." Lee greeted everyone before sitting down. "It took me weeks to get the smell out of my robes. I can almost still smell it." He took a sniff, made a face, then proceeded to begin his lunch.

The group began to continue their lunch, they swapped stories and gossip. Lee told them about how he got hit with a broom during flying class. Angelina told them how she laughed at Lee getting hit with a broom during flying class.

There was some noise going on by the Slytherin table, and Tori felt something hit the top of her head. A crumpled piece of paper sat before her. Tori glanced up to see her brother's gang laughing about. One girl gestured her to open it and she cautiously unwrapped it, reading the inside.

In big bold lettering read the words, "STALEBLOOD." Tori felt her heart drop as she heard more laughter from the table. Fred quickly moved over to block Tori's view of them but it was too late. She had seen what she saw. She quickly got up, said a small farewell, and ran off leaving the note on the table.

She ran through the hallways, tears glistening her eyes. No, she would not cry. She refused to. At least, not in public. She ran up a flight of stairs and into the nearest girl's bathroom, which was completely empty. She shut herself into the stall and sat there her heart racing.

She felt the tears fall down her cheeks. Why did this have to happen to her? She sat down on the toilet and sighed. This was happening too much. How long was her brother going to terrorize her for? What would her parents do? She had received no letter from her family, while her brother had received plenty. She didn't bother writing when she did, there was no response.

Suddenly, a chill went through Tori's spine. It was as the bathroom had turned into a winter day. She shivered violently and there was a loud scream, causing Tori to jump up and turned towards the toilet, seeing a ghost come out of it.

It was a girl, and by the looks of her uniform, she was in Ravenclaw. Keyword, was. Tori felt her mouth go dry and she felt lost for words. She unlocked the stall door in a hurry and darted away from the toilet.

The ghost girl looked rather bored, but her eyes seemed glossy. She even flew closer to Tori, who began to stutter. "Who? What?" It was all she could get out, most of the ghosts have left her alone, this was the first one she had come in contact with. She didn't really like it. The ghost girl came close up to her face, mocking her. "W-what? Who- who? Are you crying? Poor girl. Last time I cried in the bathroom, I DIED! So, GET OUT!!"

Tori definitely didn't need to be told twice. She dashed out of the bathroom and down the hall, hoping for nothing but to get away from the ghost girl. She ran down the stairway just in time to see that lunch had ended.

Tori didn't really want to be bothered with questions so she turned around and scurried off to the courtyard, hoping to get to flying class alone.

She got her to wish, she seemed to be the only one there. Madam Hooch noticed her and told her to stand by the brooms. "We're doing more flying today. Hopefully, with no injuries." She referenced the last class, a Hufflepuff student has gotten clumsy and fell off their broom from a couple of feet in the air. Nothing was completely broken, but maybe their ego.

Tori nodded and did as instructed, ignoring the looks she got from Fred when he walked into class. He took a spot next to her. "Tori, I'm..."

"I don't want to talk about it right now." She told him, he threw her a concerned look and reluctantly nodded.

"What does it mean? 'STALEBLOOD'" Alicia brought it up later that night in the common room. The group was seated in front of the fireplace, doing their homework. Tori was seated on the floor leaning against the couch. She was practicing the spell, Incendio on the fireplace, hoping to get it right before her next class.

George spoke up, looking grossed out. "It's like the term mudblood, but in this case..."

"It's for purebloods, they're saying my wizard blood has gone stale. That's why I'm in Gryffindor. I'm no good." Tori finished for him, staring into the blazing fire

There was a silence, no one spoke and Tori just continued stared into the fire. Fred, who was working on his charms homework, turned towards her on the couch. "Well... if you're no good. Neither am I."

Tori smiled at him and George nodded along with Lee. "Yeah me too." Alicia and Angelina both agreed with them as well.

"Look at that, what a team." Fred chuckled, shooting Tori one of his clever smiles. She couldn't help but return one back.

I didn't really like this chapter tbh, but it's cute.
What do you guys think?
