ii. this can't be happening.

Victoria was in a daze as she made her way down the steps. Her head was filled so many thoughts she felt sick. The Gryffindor table was clapping and both prefects welcomed her to Gryffindor.

She met her brother's gaze, who seemed as confused as she was. What happened? He turned away, a look of shame on his face, and Victoria wanted to cry.

No, she wasn't going to cry. So she turned back to the sorting hat, watching as the next few students went up, holding back hot tears.

"Weasley, Fred!"

One of the twins that Victoria kept seeing stepped onto the stairs and plopped himself down on the stool. After a few moments of silence, the hat yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!"

Victoria clapped along with the rest of her house, wait, not her house! She had been sorted in the wrong house! She knew she had to speak to Dumbledore. He would sort this out right? Surely her would understand. He had too. Shortly, George, the other twin, shortly joined his brother next, both of them sitting across from Victoria. And she felt like she was going to vomit.

The rest of the first years were sorted and Dumbledore stood up, welcoming all to Hogwarts. He began his speech, telling everyone how glad he was to have them back and how this was going to be another great year.

Victoria couldn't focus on a thing he said, she was already getting some weird looks from the people at her table, and her brother's friends were whispering while looking in her direction.

She wanted to crawl under the table and die, literally. This couldn't be happening to her. Why her?

Dumbledore finished his speech and waved his hands in the air, causing food to appear in front of everyone. Victoria was shocked, her mouth left wide open. There was so much food there and it's looked really good. Unfortunately, she felt super sick.

The Feast began, and Victoria barely ate anything. She bit into a chicken leg, which tasted so good, but by the time the feast was over, it was still edible.

The Great Hall was still filled with people talking and laughter. The Perfect got up and began to talk to Victoria's table. "Alright everyone, this way."

Victoria got up, following the crowd. She kept an eye out for her brother. The Perfect led them out of the hall and towards a flight of stairs.

Victoria was still at the bottom when saw Avalon. She called out to him, causing him to turn around. She separated from her group and ran towards him.

"Avalon!" Victoria started to speak but stopped when she saw his face. He looked at her with such disgust she felt that she had been punched. "I..."

But Avalon shook his head, looking ashamed. One of his friends called him and he waved towards him. "Victoria... just don't talk to me right now." He then turned and walked away, leaving Victoria alone.

"Come on, hurry up!" The Perfect called towards her. Victoria stared after her brother, hot tears in her eyes. She began to catch up to her group, keeping her head down.

The Perfect guided them through the corridor, taking them into another section of floating stairs. The stairs seemed to have a mind if there own, and she explained it just like that.

With a few staircases, and having to wait because a bunch first years (including Victoria) had gotten stuck on one that moved away, they finally arrived at a painting of a lady. The lady gave a warm smile. "Oh, first years! Hello! Hello!"

"Hello, Fat Lady," The Perfect cleared her throat and spoke clearly. "Betelgeuse." The painting swung open and there was a doorway. "Alright then, everyone in." Victoria's perfect called. Victoria knew that once she walked in that door, she'd be betraying her family.

But if anything, she betrayed her family once that hat was placed on her head. So with a big sigh, she walked in, following the rest.

"Alright. Hello Everyone. My name is Erin and this is Charlie." She gestured to the boy next to her. "We are your house perfect. It is our job to make sure each and everyone one of you are happy and safe during your year here at Hogwarts." Erin glanced around Victoria and continued.

"We will be keeping track of house points and talking with you when you earn them or lose them. We hope losing points won't be a problem. Now each of you has been assigned a room, the girl's dormitory is upstairs down to your right, boys same on your left.

"You're robes and belongings are already placed inside. I'll see you tomorrow morning. Good night everyone."

Victoria sat up in her bed, feeding her owl, which she had named Athena, who was a beautiful barn owl. She had been placed with 6 other girls, and she only knew a few of their names.

There was Angelina and Alicia. The other girls didn't introduce themselves, and barely even acknowledged Victoria.

Not tired at all, Victoria crept out of her bed, her feet hitting the icy ground. She slowly crept out of her dorm room and down the stairs. Each step she took, she had realized what happened today.

She crept over to the burning fire sat down on the red sofa and just let it all out. Her tears fell to the floor like rain but Victoria didn't care. Her brother didn't want anything to do with her, and soon her own family would follow.

So she sat there and cried. She couldn't stop it. Today wasn't a dream, despite how much she wished it was. She was in the wrong house, and no one could help her.

So for about an hour or so, Victoria sat on that red couch, just letting it all out. She didn't notice the boy who had been sitting in the corner watching her. He wished to say something but knew by now, it'd be too creepy.

He was already sitting down there, just reading something out of pure boredom when Victoria Silvers came down.

Yes, he knew her name. His father worked with hers. His father did not like hers. He was honestly surprised when she was sorted into Gryffindor. He couldn't imagine that going over well with her family.

He watched as Victoria took a couple of shaky breaths before she got up and made her way back up the stairs. He sighed softly as she left and took out a piece of paper. He wasn't tired and decided to write a letter.

"Dear Victoria,

Hi. My name is Fred Weasley."
