_~*[Chapter 10]*~_
POV: Carrot
I sprinted the way back to my house, looking up at the sky. It felt eerie, like time wanted to move faster to get today done as fast as possible. My only explanation was a glitch or I was just overthinking things. Once I got back to my house I walked in, breathing hard. 'You just ran like 10 blocks there's no way you're exhausted from that.' I thought angrily.
Rocket suddenly pounced on me and I fell to the ground. Henry did the same, so I sat down and played with the two dogs. "Who are some good dogs? You!" I said, petting their soft fur. I saw Jellie look up from my bed, where they were sleeping. They quickly buried their head back into the blankets, not wanting to deal with this.
Bumble ended up joining in the cuddles as well, so now I was smothered in dogs. It distracted me from a bit of fear in the back of my mind, but it was still there. 'It's all pointless. You're just in a book that barely anyone reads.'
—————
I sat on my bed, looking at my communicator. It was late, so I typed a little 'gn' in chat and snuggled in. Bumble and Jellie rested on top of me, and although I couldn't breathe, I was thankful. I really needed support at that moment. I just hoped the dreamscape would acknowledge that.
—————
I was in a black void. Eyes watching me, reading my every movement. 'Of course- they're the readers!' I yelled at myself. I wildly looked around, hoping I could catch at least one reader. "RID ME OF THIS CURSE!" I screeched. "RID ME OF MY KNOWLEDGE! FIX THE FOURTH WALL! SAVE ME!" I screamed at the top of my lungs to whatever was making... this happen. I crumbled to the ground, all to aware that nothing I did mattered.
"You can make angst out of anything." An unknown voice said, echoing across the vast expanse of wherever I was.
I jolted up, looking for whoever said it.
"Tsk tsk tsk, so innocent." The voice said. "As an author, I can't deny I enjoy this." The voice continued.
"YOU WHAT?!? YOU ENJOY MY SUFFERING?" I screamed.
"I enjoy the suffering of the readers too." The voice suddenly giggled. "They'll be surprised. I'm excited to see their reaction."
I turned to look somewhere, hoping to find a reader. Any reader. "HELP ME IDIOTS! YOU READ MY EVERY MOVE! YOU SURELY KNOW HOW TO HELP!" I screamed. 'They have to help, they will! They have to care about me a lot to even be reading this-' I thought.
"Poor poor Carrot. She thinks that the readers will help her. I don't doubt that they'll try, (I've been a reader once and desperately wanted to help to characters) but it's not like they can." The voice said with a giggle. "They're just as powerless as you are."
"I'm admin. I can ban you! I can get rid of you!" I hissed. The voice just laughed.
"If you got rid of me the story would end. And this is only chapter 10- that's not a good place to end!" The voice said sarcastically.
I growled, but on the inside I was filled with fear.
"Don't be so scared, Carrot. You're one of the lucky ones. I pity Hels for what I put him through- but that's a different story. You might actually get away with a bit of happiness, given your circumstances."
I froze. "What have you done...?" I asked, scared for the answer.
The voice giggled. "Many things. All involving blood, might I add." The voice said. "For now, cherish your friends. There's no guarantee I'll spare them. But also cherish the ones you've lost- they might come back."
My face lit up underneath my mask. "Will I see Eevee and Flower again?" I asked hopefully.
"It all depends. It all depends." The voice said. "But right now I'm in a good mood- I'll rid you of you of your curse, but I will not confirm nor deny it staying off."
And before I could react I-

-jolted awake, and heard an annoyed growl from Jellie. Something felt off. I felt like I had just dreamt of something important, but I forgot. I grumbled angrily, cuddling up in bed hoping that being cozy would temper down my annoyance. 'It isn't anything I need to know- if it is I'll remember eventually.' I told myself.
But it seemed just odd enough for it to not be natural.
"Enjoy your peace~"
