A/N: Cause why not?

Zoey and Alexa were walking around the borders. Since winter was still trying to pass in Browntale, the river was the only thing not covered in ice and snow. Alexa stopped walking, letting Zoey walk ahead, as she saw a king fisher.

Alexa's hunting instincts kicked in before she leaped onto a rock and grabbed the bird with her jaws. Zoey perked to a splash until she heard Alexa screaming. "ZOEY! HELP ME!" Zoey bolted to the river and chased Alexa from the shore. Alexa was trying her best to keep her skull above the surface until she finally couldn't.

Zoey threw off her leather jacket and dove into the water. Zoey grabbed Alexa by her hood and swam up as fast as she could. She lifted Alexa onto the shore before pulling herself up. Zoey grabbed her leather jacket and replaced Alexa's hoodie with it.

Alexa coughed as Zoey tried to warm her up. Zoey sat against a tree, holding Alexa on her lap, as Alexa coughed and shivered. "Alexa, are you ok?" Zoey asked. Alexa nodded as she snuggled into Zoey's fur. Despite it being wet, Alexa found some warmth in the coat.

Zoey blushed but let this pass. Alexa purred at Zoey's paw rubbing her back slowly. "I almost caught it. I wasn't even sacred of losing control!" Alexa said as Zoey looked into the sky. "Really?" Zoey said, trying to hide how sacred she was of losing her best friend.

"Yeah. But... when I fell in... I swore my soul stopped beating..." Zoey couldn't choke the tears down anymore as Alexa perked. "Zo-!?" Zoey held Alexa's chin as she crashed her lips against Alexa's skelelips. Alexa saw Zoey's eyes were flooding with tears before she kissed back.

Alexa wrapped her arms around Zoey's neck as Zoey rubbed her paws against Alexa's sides. The kiss soon turned into a heated make out as tongues, claws, and even teeth got involved. The two leaned back with deep blushes and a very warm feeling in them. "I love you Alexa. N-Never scare me like that again, please." Zoey begged.

Alexa nodded as she nuzzled Zoey. "Of course. I love you too Zoey." Alexa said happily. Zoey smiled before grabbing Alexa's hoodie and teleporting them to her den, where the two got warmed up, changed, and cuddled on the couch.
