Christina was sitting in the kitchen while her mom made dinner. Christina stayed quiet, her mom quickly took notice. "What's wrong Ayla?" Her mom asked. Christina didn't even bother looking up, "Mom, you will still love me right?" Christina asked. "Of course! You're my only child, so I will always love you. Now tell me what's wrong?" Her mom said. "I..I..I want to join the scouts." Christina said. Her mom gasped and dropped the dinner plate, food spilled all over the place. Her mom looked at her with anger and sadness in her eyes. "NO! DON'T YOU DARE THINK ABOUT JOINING THEM!" Her mom yelled. "Well Eren wants to join and-, "I don't care if Eren wants to join! I know Carla wouldn't let him join as well!" Her mom yelled. "But mother! You said I can do whatever I want and well, this is my life and I and gonna join!" Christina yelled.

Her mom stayed quiet, "Christina...I can't loose you." Her mom said. Christina sighed, "You want loose me, I'll be fine. I'll work super hard and besides Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Mia are willing to join as well. So I know I will be safe with them." Christina said. Her mom smiled, "Alright. I trust you, when you join next year I will pray every day that you will live." Her mom said. Christina faked smiled, she wasn't religious. In fact how is someone you've never seem before gonna save you? "Yes mom, you do that." Christina said. "Are you gonna tell your father?" Her mom asked. Christina's eyes grew wide, "No mother! I mean..if I do he wouldn't care." Christina said. "Yeah I guess, he's a idiot." Her mom said. "Yeah." Christina said.

The year came, her mom didn't survive the titans when they came into Wall Maria. Christina was working very hard, to make her mom proud. Soon came the day, she chose to join the scouts. "Hey! Your uniforms came in!" A man yelled. Everyone grabbed their uniform, Christina unfolded hers'. Tears ran down her cheeks, not from the fact that she might die but what her mom said before she died.

"Make your mom proud Christina. I know you can do it, you're very strong. A fighter! Make me proud." Tears filled her eyes, "I will mom, I will." Christina said. Then she stopped crying, she looked at the sky and saw a bird. "I WILL!" she yelled. Then throw the cape over her shoulders. The wings of freedom, stitched on the back. Christina stood with pride, every since she was brought into the world. She was never free, now knowing she might die. She actually might be free. She looked at the sunset, "Mom, I made it. I killed some titans. I didn't see the one that ate you, but maybe I will and I will kill it. I know you said that I should never kill but mom." She stood up and looked at the sky. "But mom! I need to fight! The only god damn way to live is to fight! If I'm gonna make you proud I have to kill! I have to fight! I'm sorry! But I have no choice! Even if you were gonna pray for me, they will never be answered! There is no god! If you want me to stay alive! Then pray that I will grow stronger and fight even if I'm weak!" She yelled.

Tears, tears, that's all that came down her face. She wiped her tears, "No more crying mom, we cried over horrible things! Things that weren't our fault! But one thing mom! You were weak! And I am strong." Christina yelled. Everything was silent, a smile appeared on Christina's face. "I'll.....make....you...proud."
