Percy sat with Piper and Annabeth, worried. The girl sat across from them expectantly. It had been several minutes before any of them had talked, and the silence between them was 

"So?" the girl asked. Percy looked back over from staring at some tourists picking out key chains. 

"So what?" Annabeth repeated. The girl gave them an impatient look.

"So how'd you pull the water out of that kids lungs? Not even the best lifeguard can do that. You'd have to be, like, a water bender or something to do that" The girl grinned. "You're not a water bender, right?" 

Percy smirked, but Annabeth shook her head. 

"No, we're not water benders. Far from it. We're just really well trained professionals is all" Annabeth replied. The girl nodded, unimpressed. 

"You're just like the other guy" She snorted "Bad lies, and cool powers" She shook her head. 

"wait, what you say?" Percy asked piping up. A guard walked past behind him and Annabeth, eyeing the ongoing conversation. He walked off quickly, but not before the girl noticed.  

"One of the new guys they hired recently. We've been low on guards, which is weird because usually people are flocking to work at a resort like this" The girl said. She leaned back in her chair importantly. "It was weird. But then, about two weeks ago, a new guy showed up. No one remembers who hired him or anything. He just started working and almost everyone likes him"

"What's he look like?" Percy asked. The girl shrugged. 

"tall, very tan, really dorky honestly" she smirked "His hair is absurdly blond and whenever I'm on break with him he insists on telling me his newest poems or songs" 

Annabeth looked over at Percy. They shared a look and a silent thought. 

"Sound like someone we know?" Annabeth said. She looked over at the guard again. "Can we see the new guy? He sounds like a friend of ours"

The girl shrugged "no problem, he's working on the slides right now" She stood up and started to make her way back towards the chairs. A scream rang through the noise, but no one else nearby seemed to hear. 

A feather drifted down from above, large and golden, and landed in front of the guard. She stopped, stared at it, then picked it up. 

"Not this again" she muttered. The roar screeched out again and the chimera came into view over the buildings.
