Chapter 7 - I Trusted You

Hoseok and Jimin finished their ice creams way before Yoongi.

"Yoongi, I am just going to take Jimin somewhere real quick. I will be right back okay?" Hoseok said, grabbing the boy's wrist and making him stand up.

Yoongi nodded and they walked off.

"Where are we going, Hyung?" He asked.

"You'll see." The older boy smirked.

Yoongi took the opportunity and fled as soon as their backs were turned. If he went now, there was no way he would be able to see them again.

That is how it should have been from the beginning.

He ran out of the mall and away from the busy car park, not stopping until he felt like he was going to faint from lack of oxygen. Sucking in deep gulps of air, he leant up against the wall and took a second to breathe.

When he thought it was okay, he began walking slowly again. He needed to find a place to stay, as well as something to eat.

Just then something vibrated in his pocket. He put his hand in and pulled out Hoseok's phone, which he had forgotten to return.

PARK JIMIN:

PARK JIMIN:
Check me out! I look even more dapper now! No one will ever recognise me ;)

Yoongi didn't want to respond. He didn't want these men in his lives any more...
But he couldn't help himself!

ME:
Jimin... You literally put on glasses and a hat. Is this some kind of K-Drama? You're going to need a bit more than that to disguise yourself!

PARK JIMIN:
Hey! Don't forget the chain! That thing cost me way too much!

ME:
Still not enough Jimin!

PARK JIMIN:
Fine... I will be back! Meet us by the café in 17 minutes! Don't be late or I will get Hoseok to tickle you, and trust me, that doesn't end prettily.

Yoongi laughed and put the phone in his pocket.

"Sorry Jimin... I am going to be late." He sighed.

He hailed a taxi and instructed the driver to take him to Daegu - his hometown. There he would be able to sort himself out and decide what he was going to do next.

None of his previous hacks had had such a large impact on his life. Yes he had been held at gunpoint, strangled, threatened, chased and abused, but no case had ever had him on the run like this. He had never had to lay low for so long,

And he never would again.

He stared out the taxi window and sighed, pressing his hot forehead against the cool glass. The lack of sleep was finally getting to him.

His eyes were half closed, and his head was drooping, when his pocket vibrated again.
Then again...
Then again...
Then again...

Finally, when Yoongi woke up a bit more, he took the phone out of his pocket and turned it off.

The rest of the taxi ride, he was fast asleep. No bumps or rattles bothered him. He was just too sleepy. He didn't even dream. It was all just pitch black.

Then someone appeared in the darkness.

Jimin...

He was crying.

Yoongi tried to talk but he couldn't. He wanted to ask him if he was ok; he wanted to run and hug him but his dream-feet wouldn't move!

Then opened his mouth. It wasn't his voice.

"Wake up" the voice begged him. "Wake up sir!"

Just then Yoongi's eyes snapped open and he felt his world spinning.

Well, more like shaking.

The cab driver was shaking his shoulders to wake him up.

He groaned and rubbed his eyes, not a big fan of the light... or the man that had so rudely awoken him.

"Sir! I thought you had died back here!" The cab driver sighed. "Anyway, we are here."

Yoongi paid the money and bowed his thanks before turning away and looking around. He was home.

As the taxi pulled away, he breathed in the smell of Daegu... which was actually disgusting because he just got a lungful of the taxi's fumes.

Sighing, he began to walk. He knew the area so well he didn't need a map. The streets, the buildings, the markets: everything was exactly how he remembered it even though he hadn't been there for 5 years.

He had his reasons for leaving Daegu. After hacking into the police computers and planting a virus when he was helping a small gang, he was found out and arrested. The problem was, there was no evidence, so he was let go.

But that didn't stop his father realizing who his son really was.

Yoongi was instantly disowned, and he had never come back to the Town since.

He walked to the market and bought a cup ramen to ease his growling stomach.

"Yoongi?"

The blonde haired boy froze. He had heard that voice before. Years ago.

Slowly, he turned around and bit his lip as he saw the man who had called his name.

"YOONGI! I knew it was you!" The man said excitedly, running up and hugging him, jumping up and down.

Yoongi smiled awkwardly and prized the sandy haired boy's arms away from his back. He was surprised that he didn't need a crowbar!

"H... hey! Taehyung..."

The false smile was hurting his face.

"I can't believe you came home! I'm so happy to see you! You have no idea how much I missed you Hyung!!!!!!"

Yoongi and Taehyung used to go to school together.

Taehyung never grew up. He was still the same old hyper kid that he always was.

"You have to come and see me sometime before doomsday! Give me your number! I will text you! We HAVE TO catch up!!!"

Before Yoongi could protest, Taehyung grabbed Hoseok's phone from his pocket and turned it on.

"Hey, you sure have a lot of texts! Who is Park Jimin? DID YOU REPLACE ME?! IS HE YOUR NEW BESTIE?!"

"No one could ever replace you TaeTae." Yoongi sighed, rolling his eyes.

"Good." Taehyung nodded.

He entered his number and gave him a cheesy grin.

"Can't wait to catch up!"

Just then there was a buzz.

"Hey... someone is calling you." Taehyung said, confused. "Ill pick it up!"

"No! Tae! Don-"

"Hello?" Taehyung said."Yoongi? Oh he is right here!"

Yoongi swore at the boy under his breath.

Yoongi took the phone and glared at the younger boy. Momentarily covering the receiver with his finger he growled several words of annoyance at him, then put the phone up to his ear.

"Jimin? Is that you?"

He heard sniffling and crying on the other end of the line.

"H...Hyung... where are you? We c...can't find you! Why weren't you answering my texts and calls! We've been looking for you for hours..."

"I...I'm sorry Jimin." Yoongi sighed.

"Where are you, Hyung?"

"I... I'm not... Well I mean... I'm not coming back."

There was silence at the other end of the line.

"W...what?" The boy whispered.

"I'm not coming back Jimin. I hope you escape the cops - I really do! I just..."

"You just what?" Jimin cried through the phone, "Just thought you'd leave? Leave me and Hoseok to get caught even though we never did anything? You're just going to leave after all we've been through?!"

"Jimin..." Yoongi sighed. "We've known each other for two days. You ran me over, gave me medicine, the same day we left the house and went to a hotel, the next day I left. What did we go through? I didn't even go to your house with the intention of getting you stuff."

"What? But you-"

"I What? What did I do Jimin?"

More silence.

"I...I trusted you..."

Yoongi felt a salty tear slipping over his skin. He knew the other boy was sobbing too.

"You... you shouldn't have ever done that." He choked. "You shouldn't have ever trusted me."

"Please come back hyung." Jimin begged.

Just then there was a shout and some rustling. Hoseok's voice filled his ears.

"Get the hell back here, Min." Hoseok growled. "You still have my phone - and you can't just abandon us!"

Yoongi was about to hang up when there was another rustle and Jimin whispered into the receiver.

"I need you."

The line went dead.

Yoongi took the phone away from his ear and noticed Taehyung staring at him as the tears rolled down his face and into his mouth. Licking his lips, he growled slightly and pushed past the sandy-haired boy.

Tae didn't follow.

Yoongi walked further that day than he had walked in a long time. He had planned to rest in Daegu but he found himself unable to stop. He just kept walking fast until he could barely stand, then somehow found his way to a club.

It was filled with teenagers - snogging, dancing, drinking, throwing up and repeating the whole process.

He found an empty stool and sat down, ordering a bottle of soju. When the green bottle was placed on the table he popped the cap off and glugged half of it in one go, not bothering with the shot glass which had been placed beside it.

He gritted his teeth and hissed. It was strong - very strong in fact - but that didn't stop him downing the rest of the bottle and ordering another.

3 bottles later, he was completely wasted.

His cheeks were rosy pink, and his eyelids were half-closed. If he had wanted to speak, it would have barely come out as an untranslatable slur. The music was vibrating and swirling in his ears, and the lights blinded him like he was already suffering from a hangover.

Yet he still ordered another as a boy, probably younger than Jimin, came and sat on the stool beside him.

"One soju please." The man ordered quietly. His voice was like silk, gentle and beautiful.

Yoongi glanced over at the person. His hair was as shiny and dark as raven feathers and his doe eyes were glinting brightly in the club lights, but his clothes were basic - a simple white shirt, ripped jeans and brown Timberland shoes.

Yoongi gulped more soju and sighed.

"You know..." The boy said softly, "If you drink it that fast, your hangover will be even worse tomorrow."

"Donnn't shtell mee whattt to dooo..." Yoongi slurred, pointing at him drunkenly.

The boy sighed and opened his own bottle of soju, pouring a tiny shot into a glass and sipping it, squinting his eyes at how strong it was.

Suddenly, another man sauntered over to the dark haired boy. He was holding a bottle of coke in one hand and his phone in the other.

"You look too young to be in here." The man sighed. "Much less drinking straight soju."

The mysterious boy watched as the older man took away his soju and poured half of it into his coke bottle.

"Excuse me." The boy sighed, "Please don't steal my booze. That stuff was expensive."

"Shut up kid. You don't tell me what to do."

Yoongi stared as the boy sat up and faced the man.

"Does your girlfriend know you slept with that other girl?"

The man looked shocked.

"What? H...how did you-?"

"And I suggest you stop wasting money on scratch cards behind her back as well." The boy continued. "She figured it out a while back. In fact, she isn't even waiting for you at the house like you think she is. No she sussed out your gambling habits and cheating personality ages ago. In fact, she is dancing with a drunk teen half her age across the bar right now. For both of your sakes I highly suggest you cut off the relationship now or you will both get into trouble."

The man looked shocked and Yoongi was just confused. Did the boy and the man know each other?

The man looked across the bar and there was his girlfriend, dancing with another guy...

After a short swearing session, the man vanished and the boy swung his legs back round, sitting at the bar properly again.

He sighed and sipped his soju.

"That was ammashing...." Yoongi slurred. "Howwww did you know all thatttt?"

"Well, you are pretty drunk so I may as well tell someone who will forget the next morning..." The boy sighed. "I am a strange person. I can eliminate possibilities to come to a conclusion faster than anyone else I know. Some people call me a genius. I just call myself Jungkook. Nice to meet you."

"I will calllll you Shhherlock Holmes..." Yoongi slurred.

"Whatever you want Yoongi."

"Howwwd you know my name?" He asked.

"I just know. I wont bother explaining."

"Then tell me about that othhhher man."

Jungkook sighed and sipped his soju again.

"He had remains of foil under his nails - scratch card foil. I could tell by the angle that he was doing it fast, like he didn't want anyone to see. Shows he is doing it secretly. I know his girlfriend because he has a photo of her as his phone wallpaper and a tattoo with two letters P and R. however, ALL the lovey dovey notifications on his phone are from someone called "Hyejin." One of the messages was "Lets do it again tonight winking face" Which, by my lack of idiocy suggests some kind of sexual meaning. I recognised his girlfriend from the picture and-"

"Ok that is enough." Yoongi cut him off. "Quiiiite enough."

Jungkook laughed and sipped his soju.

"Sorry. I dont often get to show off my skills because people are too busy calling me a weird person."

Yoongi laughed.

"So... how old are you, Kid?"

"Sixteen." Jungkook smiled. "Probably shouldn't be drinking alone in a club but - oh well - the earth ends in a few days."

"What is the day today?" Yoongi asked, laying down his green bottle on the surface.

"Monday 2nd September, 11:55 pm." Jungkook sighed. "The day passed so slowly. To think I was in a meeting only a few hours ago..."

Yoongi sat back.

To think... he got hit by a car yesterday...

it was only yesterday?

It felt like years ago.

"Do you have far to go to get home?" Jungkook asked. "I don't think you should be going alone in that state..."

"I don't live anywhere." Yoongi sighed, still drunk. "I ditched my family years ago and pursued my own career."

"Where did you sleep last night?"

"Busan."

"BUSAN?!" Jungkook gasped. "That is my hometown! That is also a place I need to get to... but I dont know how. I don't have enough money for taxi or train... and I don't have a driving licence."

"Why do you want to go back there?" Yoongi asked.

"I have a missio- I mean, someone I want to see before the end of the world."

"Who?"

"His name is Jimin. He is very important to me."

Yoongi nodded. Just then,, there was a shout and both of them looked over to where the man that had spoken to Jungkook was shouting at the woman.

Jungkook chuckled softly to himself.

"I think it is time for me to leave."

Just then, Yoongi felt a wave of nausea wash over him and he gripped onto the table, keeping himself upright.

Jungkook looked at him, concerned.

"Should I walk you to a hotel?" he asked.

Yoongi fell off the chair and Jungkook sighed. The younger boy bent down and wrapped his arm arounf his shoulder.

"I will answer that question for you."

He helped him out of the club and practically carried him down the street. The blonde boy was murmuring all sorts of gibberish now.

"I'm taking you to a hotel - stop your useless-"

Yoongi threw up all over his shoes.

Jungkook looked down at his Timberlands.

Then up at Yoongi.

Then down at his shoes.

He sighed and looked Yoongi in the eye. He was about to talk but bit back his words and stepped out of the vomit puddle, shaking his shoes off.

"Lovely..." He sighed.

Yoongi collapsed on the floor and laughed softly.
"Mianhae..."

Jungkook bent down to pick him up, but suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.

"Jeon Jungkook?"

He looked up and gasped.

"Park Jimin?"
