Jin ah pov:
I woke up with a start, the events of the past weeks replaying in my mind. Today was the day I would sign the deal with Taehyung. My heart pounded with a mix of dread and determination. This was for my mother, I reminded myself.
After a long, hot shower, I carefully selected an elegant dress-a deep, midnight blue that hugged my curves and flowed gracefully to the floor. The dress had delicate lace details on the sleeves and neckline, giving it an air of sophistication. I styled my hair into loose waves and applied minimal makeup, accentuating my eyes and lips. I needed to look strong and confident.
As I stared at my reflection, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction. My face, with its soft features and determined eyes, stared back at me. I was ready.
Arriving at the hotel, my breath caught in my throat. Taehyung was waiting in the lobby, clad in a tailored black suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and lean frame. His chiseled jawline and piercing eyes made him look both dangerously attractive and cold. His hair was perfectly styled, adding to his commanding presence.
He stood up as I approached, his gaze fixed on me. For a moment, I saw something flicker in his eyes-admiration, perhaps?-before his usual cold demeanor took over. He walked toward me, each step deliberate and predatory.
"Mine to love, mine to devour, mine to ruin," he whispered, his voice low and possessive as he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. His touch sent a shiver down my spine, and for a moment, my breath caught at how intensely handsome he looked. His presence was overwhelming, a stark reminder of the power he held over me.
I swallowed hard, pushing down the surge of emotions his words evoked. "Let's focus on the matter at hand," I said, my voice steady but firm. I couldn't afford to let him see how much he affected me.
Taehyung's smirk deepened, but he stepped back slightly, giving me room to breathe. "Very well," he said smoothly. "Shall we proceed with the contract then?"
We moved to a private room where the documents were laid out. As I read through the contract, my mind raced. This deal was the key to my mother's well-being, but it also meant binding myself to Taehyung.
"Sign here," he said, pointing to the bottom of the page. His eyes bore into mine, waiting.
I hesitated for a moment, my hand hovering over the paper. But then I thought of my mother, lying in that hospital bed, and my resolve hardened. With a deep breath, I signed the contract.
Taehyung's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he took the signed document. "Good. Now, you're mine."
His words were a chilling reminder of the cost of my decision, but I met his gaze with defiance. "This is for my mother," I said firmly, trying to remind both him and myself of my true motive.
Taehyung's smirk softened just a fraction, and for a brief moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of something softer in his eyes. But it was gone as quickly as it appeared, replaced by his usual, unreadable expression.
As we left the hotel, the weight of my decision settled heavily on my shoulders. This was only the beginning, and I had to be prepared for whatever came next. For now, I had to play along with Taehyung's game, no matter how dangerous it became.
With the contract signed and the weight of my decision pressing down on me, Taehyung and I headed to the hospital to see my mother. The car ride was tense, filled with a silence that felt like it could shatter at any moment. Taehyung's presence beside me was a constant reminder of the choices I'd made and the future I was now bound to.
As we arrived at the hospital, Taehyung's demeanor shifted slightly. He still held that cold, possessive air, but there was a hint of something else-perhaps respect for the gravity of the situation. We walked through the sterile hallways, the fluorescent lights casting a harsh glare on everything around us.
When we reached my mother's room, I paused at the door, taking a deep breath to steady myself. Taehyung stood close behind me, his hand resting lightly on my lower back, a gesture that was both comforting and possessive.
Inside, my mother lay in her bed, her face pale but peaceful. Her eyes lit up when she saw me, and a weak smile spread across her lips. "Jin Ah," she whispered, her voice frail but filled with warmth.
I rushed to her side, taking her hand in mine. "Mum, I'm here," I said softly, my heart aching at the sight of her. "I brought Taehyung with me."
She smiled knowingly, her gaze shifting to Taehyung. "So, this is the young man you told me about," she said, her voice weak but steady.
Taehyung stepped forward, his expression softening just a bit as he looked at my mother. "Mrs.park, it's a pleasure to meet you," he said, his voice surprisingly gentle.
My mother looked between us, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "I've heard a lot about you, Taehyung," she said. "Thank you for taking care of my daughter."
Taehyung nodded, his grip on my back firm but not overbearing. "It's my responsibility and my privilege, Mrs. Kim," he replied smoothly.
I felt a lump form in my throat as I tried to keep my emotions in check. The reality of my situation was hitting me hard, and I struggled to maintain my composure. "Mum, I-" I began, but my voice faltered.
My mother gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Jin Ah, why don't you step outside for a moment? I'd like to have a private word with Taehyung."
I hesitated, glancing at Taehyung. His eyes met mine, and he gave a slight nod. Reluctantly, I stood up and walked out of the room, my heart pounding in my chest. The door closed softly behind me, leaving me alone in the quiet corridor.
Taehyung's Pov:
As Jin Ah left the room, I turned my attention back to Mrs. Kim. Her eyes were sharp and discerning despite her weakened state. "Taehyung," she began, her voice low, "I want to make sure you understand what you're getting into."
I nodded, maintaining my composure. "I understand, Mrs. Park. I assure you, my intentions are sincere."
She sighed, looking tired but determined. "Jin Ah is a strong girl, but she's been through a lot. I need to know that you're going to take care of her, not just in the physical sense but emotionally as well."
"I will," I promised, my voice firm. "I won't let anything happen to her."
Her eyes bore into mine, searching for any hint of deception. "Good," she finally said. "Because if you hurt her, you'll have me to answer to, and I may be old and sick, but I'm still her mother."
I couldn't help but smile at her fierce protectiveness. "I respect that, Mrs.park.And I respect you. You have my word."
She nodded, satisfied for now. "You can call her back in," she said, leaning back against her pillows.
I opened the door and gestured for Jin Ah to come back inside. She walked in, her eyes filled with concern. "Everything okay?" she asked, her gaze darting between us.
"Everything's fine," her mother said with a small smile. "Just had a little chat."
Jin Ah looked relieved but still wary. "Alright," she said softly. "Thank you, Mum."
We spent a few more minutes with her before it was time to leave. As we walked back to the car, I could feel Jin Ah's tension. She was trying hard to keep it together, and I admired her strength even more.
Once we were back in the car, I looked over at her. "Are you alright?" I asked.
She nodded, though her eyes were distant. "Yeah, I just... It's a lot to take in."
I reached out and took her hand in mine, squeezing it gently. "We'll get through this," I said, my voice low and reassuring. "Together."
She looked at me, her eyes searching for mine. For a moment, I saw a flicker of something-trust, maybe?-before she nodded again. "Okay," she whispered.
Jin ah pov:
After meeting with my mother, Taehyung and I left, the tension between us was palpable. As we drove away, he glanced over at me."Are you hungry?" he asked, his voice calm yet authoritative.
I shook my head. "No, I'm fine."He didn't respond, but instead turned the car towards a hotel. I didn't argue, feeling too drained to resist.
As we entered the hotel, its opulence did little to ease my nerves. We were seated at a dining table in a secluded corner, the atmosphere around us thick with unspoken words.
The hotel dining room was elegant, with soft lighting and classical music playing in the background. Taehyung was silent, his gaze sharp and focused.
I noticed a young man at the table across from us, his eyes fixed on me.Taehyung noticed too. He leaned in, his voice low and dangerous. "Ignore him," he said, his tone making it clear this was not a suggestion.
Taehyung's Pov:
My patience was wearing thin. The insolent young man at the other table continued to stare at Jin Ah.
I clenched my jaw, feeling the familiar rush of anger. I had to deal with him.Standing up, I walked over to his table. The boy looked up, startled. "Leave. Now," I commanded, my voice cold.He smirked, clearly underestimating me.
"Why should I?"I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him to his feet. "Because I said so." Before he could react, I threw the first punch, sending him reeling back.
His smirk vanished, replaced by shock and pain.
Jin Ah's Pov:
My heart pounded in my chest as Taehyung stormed over to the young man. Before I could react, Taehyung had already thrown a punch.
The boy stumbled back, his expression a mix of fear and pain."Taehyung!" I shouted, but he didn't stop. He continued to punch the boy, his face a mask of cold fury.
The hotel staff and other diners watched in stunned silence. Finally, Taehyung pulled out a gun, pressing it against the boy's temple. My breath caught in my throat.
"Taehyung, stop!"But he was beyond reasoning. "You think you can disrespect her?" he hissed, his voice dangerously calm. "This is your last warning."
The boy whimpered, nodding frantically. But Taehyung didn't let him go. He cocked the gun, and the click echoed ominously in the hushed room.
Without a second thought, he pulled the trigger. The sound of the gunshot rang out, and the boy collapsed to the floor. After the Incident Taehyung returned to the table, his expression unreadable. My hands trembled as I tried to process what had just happened.
"What did you do?" I demanded, my voice shaking."I handled it," he replied curtly, sitting down as if nothing had happened."Handled it? You killed him!" I hissed, my anger and fear blend into one.
"He disrespected you. Disrespected us," he said, his voice cold and final. "No one gets to do that."The rest of the meal passed in tense silence. Actually I didn't ate anything in disbelief.
I could feel the eyes of other diners on us, their whispers barely contained. I had wanted to avoid a scene, but Taehyung's actions had ensured that wasn't possible.
The car ride home was anything but silent. Taehyung drove with a calmness that contrasted sharply with the chaos that had just unfolded. I couldn't help but steal glances at him, my mind racing.
"How can you be so calm after what you just did?" I finally asked, my voice barely above a whisper. He didn't take his eyes off the road. "Because it was necessary." "Necessary?" I repeated, incredulous.
"You shot someone, Taehyung. How is that necessary?"He glanced at me, his gaze unwavering. "To protect what's mine. And you, Jin Ah, are mine."I swallowed hard, the weight of his words pressing down on me. The possessiveness in his voice sent a shiver down my spine.
The journey home was a quiet one, with only the gentle hum of the car's engine breaking the silence between them. Jin Ah sat in the passenger seat, her gaze fixed on the passing cityscape outside the window, lost in her own thoughts.
As they neared Jin Ah's home, Taehyung broke the silence, his voice cutting through the stillness of the car. "We're almost there," he remarked, his tone neutral but tinged with an undercurrent of tension.
Jin Ah nodded silently, her stomach twisting into knots as they approached her house. She knew that once they arrived, she would have to confront the reality of her situation-being alone with Taehyung in the confines of her home, with no one else around to buffer the intensity of their dynamic.
As the car pulled up to the curb outside her house, Jin Ah felt a rush of apprehension washing over her. She turned to face Taehyung, her eyes betraying the turmoil of her emotions. "Thank you for the ride," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Taehyung nodded in response, his expression cold.I rushed towards my home to keep distance from him.
As soon as Taehyung dropped me off, I rushed inside, eager to escape his suffocating presence. His intense gaze and possessive words lingered in my mind, unsettling me. I headed straight to my room, craving solitude.
I needed time to process everything that had happened today.I quickly freshened up, letting the warm water wash away the day's tension. Wrapped in a towel, I stepped out of the bathroom and into my bedroom, pulling on my favorite pajamas. I crawled into bed, pulling the covers up to my chin, trying to find some semblance of comfort.
As I lay in bed, trying to find solace in sleep, memories from the past began to flood my mind, refusing to be ignored. The first time I met Taehyung was a day I could never forget, though I wished I could.
Past:
It was a gloomy afternoon, the sky heavy with clouds, as I stood by my father's grave, feeling the weight of my loss. I was placing a bouquet of white lilies on his tombstone, tears blurring my vision, when I noticed someone nearby. He was kneeling at a grave just a few rows down, shoulders shaking with silent sobs.
Curiosity and a sense of shared grief drew me closer. As I approached, I realized he was crying at his father's grave too. Our eyes met, and in that moment, there was an unspoken understanding between us-a bond formed by our mutual loss.
"Are you okay?" I asked softly, unsure if my words would reach him.
He looked up, his eyes red and puffy, a stark contrast to his otherwise composed appearance. "Not really," he replied, his voice breaking slightly. "It's... it's my dad. I miss him so much."
I nodded, tears streaming down my cheeks. "I miss my dad too," I whispered. "It's so hard."
For a while, we just sat there, side by side, saying nothing. The silence was comforting, a shared moment of mourning. Eventually, he spoke again, his voice steadier this time.
"I'm Taehyung," he said, offering a small, sad smile.
"Jin Ah," I replied, returning his smile with one of my own. "Nice to meet you, Taehyung."
From that day on, we met regularly at the cemetery, finding solace in each other's company. We would talk for hours, sharing stories about our fathers, our lives, and our dreams. He was kind, gentle, and understanding-everything I needed during that difficult time.
Over the months, our bond grew stronger. Taehyung became a constant presence in my life, a source of comfort and strength. We laughed together, cried together, and eventually, fell in love. He was my rock, and I thought I was his.
But life has a cruel way of shattering illusions. One night, after a particularly lovely date, Taehyung asked to speak with me privately. There was a coldness in his eyes that I had never seen before, and it sent a chill down my spine.
We walked to the park where we first confessed our feelings, the air thick with the promise of rain. It started to drizzle as we reached the bench where we always sat. Taehyung turned to me, his face devoid of the warmth it once held.
"Jin Ah, I think we need to break up," he said bluntly, his tone devoid of emotion.
My heart stopped. "What? Why? Taehyung, please, don't do this," I begged, my voice trembling. "I love you. We can work through anything, I promise."
He shook his head, looking almost bored. "You don't understand, Jin Ah. You're not my type anymore. I've found someone better-someone who fits my world. You're just... too poor, too ordinary."
His words were like knives, each one cutting deeper than the last. "How can you say that?" I cried, tears streaming down my face. "After everything we've been through?"
The rain began to pour, soaking us both, but he seemed indifferent to the downpour. "It's simple. I've moved on. You should too."
I grabbed his arm, desperation in my voice. "Taehyung, please. Don't leave me. I need you."
He yanked his arm away, his expression hardening. "You're holding me back, Jin Ah. You're not capable of keeping up with me. You're just... a burden."
The rain mixed with my tears, each word he said tearing me apart. "I thought you loved me," I whispered, barely audible over the storm."Are you going to end our 7 year relationship just because I'm poor?"
"I did," he said coldly. "But not anymore."
And with that, he walked away, leaving me shattered and alone in the pouring rain.
But stopped as I said "Are you going to end our 7 years relationship just because I'm poor?"without replying me he walked away from my life.
Present:Author pov:
In the present, as the memories of that painful breakup flooded back, tears streamed down Jin Ah's cheek. She couldn't hold back the sobs that wracked her body, each one a painful reminder of the heartache she had endured.
Clinging to her pillow, she buried her face in its soft fabric, muffling her cries as best she could. But the pain was too raw, too overwhelming to be contained. It spilled out of her in waves, consuming her in its suffocating embrace.
She felt like a wounded animal, raw and exposed, as the memories of Taehyung's betrayal replayed in her mind like a cruel movie. How could he have been so callous, so indifferent to her pain? The questions swirled in her mind, but there were no answers, only the crushing weight of her broken heart.
In that moment of despair, Jin Ah felt utterly alone, as if the world had turned its back on her. She longed for the warmth of her father's embrace, the reassurance that everything would be okay. But he was gone, lost to her forever, and she was left to face her demons alone.
As the tears continued to fall, Jin Ah made a silent vow to herself: she would never let Taehyung see her cry again. She would be strong, for her mother's sake, for her own sake. But deep down, she knew that the pain of their past would always haunt her, a bitter reminder of the love she had lost.
