Jin ah pov:

As I slowly blinked my eyes open, the events of last night flooded back into my mind with startling clarity. Taehyung's sudden appearance, his intense gaze, and the demand he made—it all felt like a surreal nightmare that I couldn't shake off.

I lay in bed, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the room. But despite the peaceful surroundings, my mind was in turmoil, replaying every moment of our encounter over and over again.

I couldn't believe he had the audacity to demand such a thing from me, to expect me to comply with his wishes without question. But even more than that, I couldn't shake the feeling of vulnerability that his presence evoked—the way he seemed to see right through me, to the core of my being.

With a sigh, I pushed myself upright, running a hand through my disheveled hair as I tried to shake off the lingering remnants of sleep. But no matter how hard I tried to distract myself, Taehyung's face lingered in my mind, his words echoing in the silence of the room.

I knew I couldn't avoid him forever, that eventually I would have to face him and confront whatever twisted agenda he had in store for me. But for now, all I could do was try to push aside the uncertainty and focus on the day ahead.

As I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, I made a silent vow to myself. I wouldn't let Taehyung's presence dictate my life or my emotions. I was stronger than that, and I wouldn't let him break me—not again.

The memory of Taehyung's kiss and his intense demand played on a loop in my mind. I knew I needed a break—a day to myself to process everything and brush off the unsettling memories of Taehyung. As I lay in bed that morning, I made a decision: today would be my day off.

I called my boss, Jimin, and explained that I needed some time to recover. He was understanding, albeit a bit worried about the chaos from the day before. After assuring him I was fine, I got up and began my morning routine.

I chose a casual outfit: a soft, oversized sweater and a pair of jeans, paired with comfortable sneakers. I pulled my hair into a loose ponytail and decided to forego makeup. Today was about relaxation and simplicity.

As I walked downstairs, the familiar sounds of my family’s morning routine greeted me. My mom was bustling around the kitchen, humming softly as she prepared breakfast.

"Good morning, sweetheart," she said, glancing up as I entered the kitchen. "You're up late today."

"I decided to take a day off," I replied, grabbing a piece of toast. "Just needed a break from work."

My mom's eyes softened with concern. "Are you okay, Jin-ah? You've been working so hard lately."

"I'm fine, really," I assured her, forcing a smile. "Just a little tired. Thought I'd take a day to relax."

As I sat down at the kitchen table, my younger brother, Niki, plopped into the chair across from me. He was scrolling through his phone, as usual, but he looked up when he noticed the bandage on my hand.

"What happened to your hand?" he asked, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Just a small accident at work," I lied smoothly. "It's nothing serious."

My mom turned to look at me, concern etched on her face. "Are you sure you're okay, Jin-ah?"

"Yes, Mom. It's really nothing," I said, hoping to end the conversation. "I just need some rest."

After breakfast, I decided to call Minji, my best friend. She had always been my confidante, but today I didn't want to burden her with the truth about Taehyung.

"Hey, Minji. Do you have some time today?" I asked when she picked up.

"Of course, Jin-ah. Everything okay?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine concern.

"Yeah, just wanted to hang out and relax. Maybe grab some coffee?" I suggested.

"Sounds perfect. I'll meet you at our usual cafe in an hour," she said cheerfully.

As I hung up, I felt a bit lighter, looking forward to spending time with Minji. I needed the distraction, and she was always good at lifting my spirits.

When I arrived at the cafe, Minji was already there, looking chic in a casual sundress and sandals. Her bright smile was infectious, and I felt my own worries start to fade a little.

"Jin-ah!" she called out, waving me over. "You look like you could use a good cup of coffee."

"You have no idea," I said with a laugh, sitting down across from her. "Thanks for meeting me."

"Always," Minji said, her smile turning into a concerned frown as she noticed my bandaged hand. "What happened there?"

"Oh, this? Just a minor accident at work," I said, brushing it off. "It's really nothing to worry about."

Minji's eyes narrowed slightly, but she let it go. "Alright, but if there's anything you need to talk about, you know I'm here, right?"

"Of course, Minji. Thank you," I said sincerely.

We spent the next hour catching up, talking about everything and nothing. It was exactly what I needed—a chance to feel normal again, even if just for a little while.

As the day went on, I kept myself busy with little errands and a bit of shopping, anything to keep my mind off Taehyung. I returned home in the afternoon, feeling a bit more at ease.

As I stepped out of the cozy café, the brisk breeze tousled my hair, carrying with it a sense of freedom and release. Meeting Minji had been exactly what I needed—a chance to forget about the chaos of my life for a moment and just enjoy the simple pleasures of friendship.

As I walked down the bustling street, my phone buzzed in my pocket, pulling me out of my thoughts. With a curious frown, I pulled it out, my heart skipping a beat as I saw the notification.

It was a text from an unknown number, the words stark against the glowing screen. My pulse quickened as I opened it, a mixture of anticipation and dread swirling in the pit of my stomach.

The message was short and to the point, yet it sent a shiver down my spine. It was from Taehyung. Just seeing his name on my screen filled me with a sense of unease, a reminder of the tangled web of emotions and secrets that surrounded us.

With trembling fingers, I read the message, each word like a dagger to my heart. It was a simple invitation, yet it carried with it a weight that I couldn't ignore.

"Meet me. Tonight. Same place."

As I stared at the screen, a million thoughts raced through my mind. Should I go? Was it even safe to meet him alone? But despite my reservations, a part of me couldn't resist the pull, the magnetic force that seemed to draw me back to him again and again.

With a sigh, I pocketed my phone, my mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. I knew I shouldn't go, that it would only lead to more trouble. But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was a chance I couldn't afford to miss—a chance to confront the past and finally find closure, once and for all.

My mom was in the living room, reading a book, when I walked in. She looked up and smiled. "Did you have a good day, dear?"

"Yes, it was nice to just relax," I said, sitting down next to her. "How about you?"

"Quiet, as usual," she said with a chuckle. "But I did notice your hand earlier. Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, Mom. It's really nothing," I repeated, hoping to reassure her. "Just a small accident at work."

She nodded, but I could see the lingering worry in her eyes. I leaned over and gave her a hug. "I'm fine, I promise."

Author pov:

Jin ah reclined on her couch, her mind drifting in a sea of thoughts as she tried to unwind from the events of the day. The gentle hum of the air conditioner provided a soothing backdrop to her thoughts, but she couldn't shake the tension that coiled within her.

Just as she began to drift into a restless sleep, the shrill ringtone of her phone shattered the tranquility of the moment. With a groan, Jin ah reached over to grab her phone, her brow furrowing in annoyance at the interruption.

The caller ID displayed an unknown number, causing a flicker of curiosity to stir within her. With a hint of apprehension, she answered the call, bringing the phone to her ear.

"Hello?" Jin ah's voice was cautious, uncertainty lacing her words as she waited for a response.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, followed by a deep, familiar voice that sent a shiver down her spine. "You know me very well, my love."

Jin ah's breath caught in her throat at the sound of Taehyung's voice, her heart pounding erratically in her chest. She struggled to maintain her composure, the memories of their tumultuous past flooding back with startling clarity.

Summoning every ounce of resolve, Jin ah forced herself to respond, her voice steady despite the turmoil raging within her. "What do you need?"

There was a hint of amusement in Taehyung's voice as he replied, his tone tinged with a hint of arrogance. "Come outside, Jin ah. I want to talk to you."

Jin ah's mind raced with a thousand questions, each one vying for her attention as she grappled with the implications of Taehyung's unexpected request. But amidst the chaos of her thoughts, there was a flicker of defiance, a stubborn determination to not let him dictate her actions.

"Why should I?" Jin ah's voice was laced with skepticism, her defiance evident as she challenged Taehyung's authority.

But Taehyung's response was swift and unfaltering, his words carrying a weight that left no room for argument. "Because if you don't, I'll come to you."

With a sense of resignation, Jin ah knew that she had no choice but to comply. With a sigh, she ended the call and rose from the couch, steeling herself for the confrontation that awaited her outside.

Panic surged through her. She hurriedly slipped on her shoes and went outside. Her eyes scanned the street and landed on a figure standing a little distance away. Taehyung. He looked as imposing as ever, his presence dominating the quiet neighborhood.

With a deep breath, she approached him, her expression cold and guarded. "What do you want, Taehyung?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Why didn't you come to the hotel when I texted you?" he asked, his tone accusatory, eyes boring into hers.

"Because I didn't want to," she replied, crossing her arms over her chest. "You can't just expect me to drop everything for you."

"How's your hand?" he asked, his gaze dropping to where she cradled her injured hand.

"It's fine," she said sharply. "Not that it's any of your concern."

He took a step closer, his presence overwhelming. "You think distancing yourself from me will change anything? You're still mine, Jin-ah. Whether you want to admit it or not."

"Stop saying that," she retorted, her voice trembling with frustration. "I'm not yours. I never was. You can't control me."

Before Taehyung could respond, a loud gunshot echoed through the street. Jin-ah's heart leaped into her throat as she instinctively ducked. Taehyung's eyes scanned the surroundings, his body tensing.

"Get inside, now!" he barked, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the house.

"What's going on?" she asked, her voice shaking as she stumbled alongside him.

"Someone's trying to kill us," he replied curtly, shoving her towards his car. "Stay down."

Taehyung unlocked the car and practically shoved her inside before sliding in beside her. As they sped away, Jin-ah's mind raced with fear and confusion.

Once they were safely away from the scene, Taehyung pulled out his phone and made a call. "I need you to handle something," he said curtly, giving quick instructions before hanging up.

Turning to Jin-ah, he fixed her with an intense gaze. "Marry me."

She stared at him, wide-eyed. "What? No! I won't marry you."

"You don't have a choice," he said coldly. "You know what happens if you defy me."

Jin-ah shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. "I want to go to a silent place. I can't deal with this right now."

Taehyung's jaw tightened, but he nodded. "Fine. We'll go somewhere quiet."

They drove in silence, the tension between them palpable. Jin-ah tried to keep her emotions in check, but it was difficult with Taehyung's overpowering presence beside her. She hated how he could still affect her so deeply.

Eventually, they arrived at a remote, serene location. Taehyung parked the car and turned to her, but she was already asleep, exhausted having taken over. He sighed, a rare moment of vulnerability crossing his features as he watched her. Carefully, he got out of the car and walked around to her side, gently lifting her out.

Carrying her bridal style, Taehyung walked towards a secluded cabin. He pushed the door open with his foot and stepped inside, laying her down on a plush bed. He watched her for a moment, his expression unreadable.

"You'll see, Jin-ah," he murmured softly, more to himself than to her. "You'll realize you belong with me."

As she slept, Jin-ah's dreams were plagued by memories and fears, a reflection of the turmoil she felt inside. And even in her sleep, the presence of Taehyung lingered, an inescapable shadow over her every thought.
