Save Me
•Trigger warning•
*Frank's POV*
My palms are shaking as I grab the bridge railing.
You're worthless, Frank.
You're ugly, Frank.
You're stupid, Frank.
You're fat, Frank.
You're disgusting, Frank.
I know that this is what I want, so why is it so hard? Why can't I just jump into the river?
Why the fuck can't I even kill myself properly?
I pull myself up, standing on the railing, looking down into the dark water.
Just do it, Frank.
Nobody would miss you, anyway.
I pull my shaky hands away from the support pole, balancing on the thin rail with just my feet. I lift one foot slowly, stretching it forward.
I'm going to do this.
"NO!"
Arms wrap around my waist and heave me backwards, making me fall into the person who grabbed me.
"NO!" I scream, struggling to get out of the strong grasp.
The arms just tighten around me.
"LET ME GO! LET ME GO! LEt me-" I break off, turning to cry into the strangers chest.
They pet my hair and shush me, whispering that it's okay.
"Hey, hey, hey. Calm down," he tucks some of my hair behind my ear. "Hey, what's your name?"
"F-Frank," I whisper, clutching his jacket harder to stop tears flowing.
"Alright, Frank," the man stands up and pulls me to my feet.
In the light of the single lamp on the bridge, I study the man.
He has bright red hair and hazel eyes. His black shirt hangs loosely on his torso, and a freshly put-out cigarette lies abandoned by his black Converse.
"I'm going to take you to my house. You can have a fresh cup of coffee, a shower if you want, and you can stay over."
He grabs my wrist, as if he were afraid I'd try to jump again, and gently drags me towards his house.
"Wait," I stumble a bit, "what's your name?"
"Gerard. Gerard Way," he replies, smiling down at me.
