OSWIN PHILLIPS HAD always been considered quite the science 'nerd' in his area of Hawkins, Indiana. He never minded it though, and he didn't really care either. He enjoyed it along with many other things, which is also how he became best friends with Vivian Harlow, a girl who was once a part of his 'party'. Oswin's party, or group of friends, consisted of seven memebers who didn't exactly always get along.

THE FRIENDS NOT getting along one day led to a huge fight between them all during summer, causing them to split up and not be a 'party' after all. The split caused Oswin to decide to leave for a camp called Camp Know Where, where Oswin then met the one and only Dustin Henderson. He and Dustin became close after the two found out they both were from Hawkins, so by the end of camp, the two had figured out a way to still communicate ( along with Suzie ) through a radio tower they had built.

EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL for Oswin after he returned. He still hung out with Vivian, and still avoided contact with most of his ex friends. Yet, when Oswin and Vivian discover a russian code when shifting frequency to contact Dustin on the radio tower, the following events only turn downhill from there. The pair's discovery somehow brings their friends together again, and after finally contacting Dustin, it seems Oswin isn't the only one who heard the secret code. So, after agreeing to pair up parties, the process to pretty much save the world only got more chaotic.
