One month since the London matches were done and then he had a tour to Sri Lanka. After yet another successful tour he was back. It was almost evening and he saw Sara's door locked.
Wondering about her whereabouts but clueless he decided to wait. Even when it was 8 and she was not back yet he became worried. Calling her he tried to know about her but she didn't answer.
Worried to hell he decided to search for her in the nearby parks. As he searched through the Hyde he found her sitting below a huge tree. Her hands scribbled on the paper.
He quickly strided towards her huffing.
"Where were you? I was so worried."
Sara glanced up at the voice, her instincts kicking in as she drew her knees closer hiding the paper from him.
"Why were you searching for me?"
"It's 8 in the night madam. It's so late I have been waiting for you since 5. And when you didn't come back I became worried."
"Ohh I am so sorry I lost track of time. I was just spending some time here."
"You could have at least checked your phone."
He whispered as he sat beside her trying to peep in her drawing which she cleverly hid. He frowned but decided not to bother her about it.
"Let's get home now."
"Yes, I will just pack these belongings."
He waited as he saw her collecting all the things hastily and in that moment he saw the paper slip from her hands. Getting a glimpse of her painting, he saw a girl and boy sitting with their backs touching each other in the park. It was the same Hyde park.
He wondered who this boy could be? But as Sara realised her drawing had exposed she quickly collected it and put it in her bag sighing that he couldn't catch a glimpse of it.
"Let's go I am done."
"Yea, or I was saying maybe we could crash at some cafe yrr I am really hungry."
"Shubman I am so sorry but I really don't have the heart to have anything. Maybe you can carry on and I will take your leave."
"Ohh my god am I dreaming? The always foodie Sara is declining my offer for food."
"Shut up tumhe toh bas mujhe chidhane ka mauka chahiye hota hai. Huh!" She twisted her mouth and he laughed. Her smile was back looking back at him.
"Chal thike if you don't want to eat even I won't. Let's get back to home."
"Aree but you are hungry. And you should not skip it because of me."
"Chalo yrr tum bhi kya yaad rakhogi. Ghar mai kuch pada hoga kha lunga."
The next morning Shubman woke up to the loud banging of the door. He went and opened it to see Sara leaning on the wall with a grin.
"Tumhe split personality disorder hai kya? Kal raat toh itna sadi hui thi and ab daat dikha rahi ho."
"Shut up. Mujhe toh aloo ke paranthe khaane hai isliye I am here."
"Really? Nahi yrr itni jaldi nahi please."
"Shubman please, I am really hungry. Pretty please."
She muttered, he couldn't resist her puppy dog eyes and nodded to which she jumped in joy.
"Itna hi tha toh kal dinner skip kyu kiya?"
"Ab kal hua woh chodo na let's make paranthe."
He chuckled at her excitement and nodded.
"Wait for a few minutes let me just get fresh then I will make them."
"Sure."
She waited patiently as he strided through the house picking up the garbage and then went to get fresh. Once he was back he again started to work and she watched him.
"You played really well. Baba was again praising you."
"Thank you mam, I am glad. But wait why did you watch my matches?"
"Aeyy God of cricket ki beti hu of course cricket dekhungi."
"Oh sure sure."
He smirked and she blushed. Even she knew the reality that she watched the matches only for him.
"Waise it was Arjun's birthday yesterday. You didn't wish him on insta?"
"I did. On the phone. It's not necessary to wish someone on insta always right." She said picking up the apple from the fruit basket.
"So you even paint ha, I was not aware of it."
"Uhmm ya I do sometimes."
"Ohh nice, I wish I could have some extra hobbies man. I just know how to play cricket and play at the playstation. Haha."
"Haha very funny, isliye I call you lazy kuch toh sikh lo."
"Hey but I can cook food, tum toh woh bhi nahi kr sakti."
"I will one day. Hope so." Her smile was back yet again as she sniffed the delicious smell of the parantha on the pan. He took a plate and served it to her.
"Ohh my god this is so yum. I love you for this." She said as she devoured the feeling of the hot piping parantha in her mouth.
"I love you too babygirl." He smirked as her cheeks flushed and later he couldn't control his laugh. She hit him on his hands as he continued laughing at her misery.
"Just shut up man let me enjoy my food."
"Sure sure babygirl. Waise what all has been completed in the classes? I hope I don't have to roam around asking for other people's helps. Being my frenemy you would help me right?"
"Frenemy?"
"Friends plus enemies babygirl."
"Ohhhh sure sure. I will help you but on one condition you will have to bring me chocolates in return."
"Aree kyu nahi. I will surely bring chocolates. Even di loved them you know. She was so fond of chocolates papa would always stock up the whole fridge for her."
"Don't you like them?"
"I used to but since di was gone I stopped having them."
Sara made a mental note to make him have chocolates again and keep him close to his di in that way forgetting about her own misery for that moment.
