Shubman walked here and there in tension as he awaited the doctor's response. After what felt like eternity finally the doctors came out and Shubman sighed.

"Mr Gill the operation was successful. She had some glass pieces stuck in her leg and her hand is fractured with a little bit of internal injury but she is okay. It will take 3 months for her hand to get better. Take care."

"Thank you so much doctor."

As the doctors patted his back and went away Shubman sighed. Soon a nurse informed him that he could meet Sara.

When he went to her room she was still under anesthesia. He went near her, his heart ached at her sight. The ever so happy Sara for him, was now laying pale.

Her hand was plastered and her head was covered with a bandage. As he moved the blanket from her legs he saw the bandages wrapped around her leg making him wince.

He sighed, sitting on the stool beside her. This was all his fault, he wondered as he looked at her body. She asked him not to go out today but yet he was adamant.

Also now he was worried about what he would say to Sachin sir. He didn't want to lie about their relationship but he also knew Sara had her own share of problems and he shouldn't talk without her permission.

After some hours Sara's eyes moved. He quickly called the nurse who assured him she was okay and she was waking up.

As Sara opened her eyes fully she looked around, a completely different atmosphere it was. Her eyes fell on Shubman who smiled looking at her and she gave him a small smile back.

"Shub."

"Shut up don't speak to me."

"Why?"

She asked in a weak voice even though she knew the reason and his eyes immediately watered.

"You idiot aise koi bhagta hai kya road pe? Pagal ho tum? Samajhta nahi hai tumhe road pe gadiyan hoti hai aur kuch bhi ho sakta hai?"

"I am sorry."

"What's sorry now? This sorry won't change anything. You will still be laying on this bed just because of me."

"It's not your fault."

"It is."

"No it's not stop blaming yourself. For me please. Come to me please, I need you."

She requested through her eyes finally melting him and he hugged her carefully. As Shubman soaked in her warmth, she felt her shirt get wet.

"Shub please don't blame yourself. This is not your fault. You know whatever is written in our destiny it tends to happen. Please stop, and see I am very fine now just a little bit of a fracture here and there."

"Shut up, promise me you won't pull this kind of stunt again. I swear I will.."

"You will what?"

"I will first slap you and then kiss you. You are very precious to me Sara you don't know that but you are. I have accepted you with all my heart and now I can't afford to lose you so please."

"Acha baba firse sorry I won't do it again. I promise and even you are very precious to me Shub. Let's forget everything now and start afresh."

"Sachin sir will be coming tomorrow."

"What who called him?"

"I called him. I needed to inform your parents."

"Hmm."

She whispered,her voice seemingly sad but Shubman didn't ask her anything. Soon the day passed with Sara most of the time sleeping because of the effects of medicines.

The next day as Sachin and Anjali arrived Sara was awake. Shubman stepped aside from her as he was feeding her the soup and he didn't want them to think of anything else.

"Sara how did this happen?"

Anjali asked as she went ahead to check her and Sachin sat on the stool.

"Nothing I was just walking on the road and the car was over speeding."

"So careless of you Sara. You should take care of yourself."

"I will from the next time."

"And Shubman thank you so much for handling her when we weren't there."

"No worries sir. She is my best friend I will always handle her."

"You can leave now."

Shubman looked at Sara hesitantly but then turned to pick up his things.

"Shubman won't go anywhere I need him here."

"But Sara we are here. He needs to be at his home."

"He lives alone infront of my apartment so he can stay here."

"Sara."

"I said what I said mummy. Please don't stop me here atleast."

"Ok you can stay in Shubman."

"Thank you sir."

"Sara once you get discharged we will leaving to Mumbai so beautiful ready."

"No I won't come."

"But we can't stay here with you. We have our own set of works pending."

"I know you guys can leave I will take care of myself as I have been doing all these years."

As Shubman watched the family engage in a heated argument he decided it was best for him to sit outside without interfering.

"This is not the way you talk Sara."

"I will mummy papa. All these years you guys haven't even looked at me properly always siding with Bhai and now when I need none you guys are back. So it's better if you leave now. I really don't need you now."

"Don't say this Sara beta we care for you."

"I know but please leave me alone."

She pleaded to them who looked at her with what she could wonder was guilt, but why after all these years. She wouldn't ever forgive her for whatever they did so easily so she decided it's better if she maintains her  distance.

"Infact you came I felt nice. You can leave now. I know you guys must be having your flight back to India. Nai?"

"Take care."

Was all Sachin said before he held Anjali's hand and dragged her out while Sara kept looking at them as they disappeared from her sight.

When they went away Shubman came in and Sara immediately forwarded her hands as if asking him to hug her.

Without questioning he hugged her and let her weep out her emotions. As she cried in his arms he stroked her head calming her down.

Once she was done she wiped her nose to his shirt and smiled at him making him smile wider at her cuteness.

"Sorry."

"Don't you can do it anytime."

"Hmm."

"Once I get discharged I am moving in with you okay."

"We are already living together baby it's just your things are at your place and I guess it's better cause we really don't have any space in our apartment now."

"Yes even that's true."

"I am sorry this is so confusing. But I promise I will tell you everything once we reach home."

"It's okay baby take your time. I will always wait."
