Chapter 70
Third person pov
Lillian fell asleep texting Bakugo only to wake up the next afternoon and apologize for falling asleep on him. Her panic over the fact that she'd left him hanging, and even worse, on read, sparked a whole new conversation that extended throughout the evening. It wasn't anything interesting, nor was it terribly in depth. That was just fine with Lillian. She was still wary of the explosive blonde, so holding a light conversation with him wasn't too bad.
Bakugo was by all means a wild card, unlike Midoriya. While Midoriya she could text without fear of him ever getting angered at her, save for when she said anything relatively self-deprecating, Bakugo had clear anger issues nobody dared to address for fear of getting their face blown off. Thus, nobody knew the type of guy he was outside his temper save for maybe Kirishima and some of the Bakusquad, as Ochako had dutifully named them. She needed to tread lightly.
Talking to him was stressful, but she also wasn't too sure how to end the conversation. She'd closed many ends during her time talking to him. Plenty of times he could have left her on read and it would have actually been fine to just leave her be. The only issue was that... well, he kept texting. And she was too afraid to make up an excuse about being busy for fear of accidentally making a commitment to text him later.
Their conversation about which was better, waffles or pancakes, continued for around an hour somehow. It eventually shifted to their quirks. Lillian had been texting him on and off since she woke up, going between Yeet, trying to help Neito and Hitoshi bring Todoroki into memedom, and such of the like. She asked about his quirk almost without meaning to. It just... happened. The question slipped out without her meaning it to when he noted something he saw on the news.
It was a pleasant surprise to her when he elaborated without complaint. His texts were about as vulgar as you'd expect, but he was still efficient in his explanation nonetheless. She understood it far better than she thought she might considering who it was coming from. It was extremely interesting to hear about. Before she could stop herself, she found herself asking questions. Questions that only multiplied when he didn't discourage them, which was his own fault. He brought her queries upon himself.
Meanwhile, poor Todoroki had no idea what a meme even was. He was definitely struggling with his "second education" as Neito had called it. The most important education he'd ever be having, Hitoshi had also claimed like a proud father or something akin to it. Lillian just smiled and offered moral support in the form of back pats and small, simple explanations, and translations that helped him get what they were saying. She could already tell trying to convert him was going to be a long road, but it would be worth it.
There was no word from Endeavor just yet. Based on the paparazzi's sightings of him, he was in a completely other district. Todoroki was holding off on texting him about staying with a friend for that very reason. He didn't need to know Todoroki had been missing since day one, right? Besides, he'd probably assume Todoroki had been the one to get his stuff. That got Chad completely off the hook. The man was confident he'd avoided the cameras stationed around the property, but it was better safe than sorry.
Neito and Hitoshi had been in and out all day, as had Chad. Lillian was tasked with watching Todoroki to make sure he was happy, healthy, and not about to run off and try to go home to his asshole father out of sheer panic. She'd taught him how to play Uno, Go-Fish, and had introduced him to You Tube. His absolute awe when she'd introduced him to Bitch Lasagna was glorious. Essentially, she was his new den mother. She managed his space, brought him into the real world, and taught him things every teenager should know.
A quick look at the half-and-half boy's phone revealed that it had software on it that let someone, presumably Endeavor, look at everything was happening and restrict things. Not much internet browsing was allowed, and he didn't have the You Tube app like most phones did by default. With a shake of her head and heavy sigh, she factory reset his phone. Put it back to the way it was when it was first bought. A new start.
The app store was now Todoroki's new hunting grounds. Lillian had shown him where it was and how it worked, and that was the end of that. He was a goner. He burrowed under his blankets with Erasercat and got to work installing and uninstalling apps to find "the right ones" as he had so graciously put it. Lillian could only really shrug and let him have his reign of freedom over his mobile device, going back to her conversation with Bakugo to explain why rainy weather was the best kind, and to wonder just how she'd gotten here and in this conversation with the pissiest person she'd ever met.
"Honey, I'm home!" Neito called just before he and Hitoshi crashed through the door carrying a huge tank. Lillian raised a brow, looking down the front of her shirt where Yeet was currently sitting. Mihoko slid past the two boys and pulled the potted plant off Lillian's dresser so they could set the massive glass down. It was a perfect fit. Lillian felt herself smile.
"Th-Thanks, you guys. I-It means a-a lot." Lillian pulled Yeet out of her shirt. She peered down at him for a moment, raising her camera carefully. She wondered if Bakugo liked snakes... were they close enough for her to be showing him pictures of her kids, though?
"I got Eco-Earth." Hitoshi said as a bag of it fell out of the front of his shirt. "Two bags."
Another fell from Neito's shirt. The blonde shrugged. Lillian sent the photo of Yeet curling around her fingers before discarding her phone on her pillow and hopping up to give them her full attention. While Bakugo was more engaging in conversation than she thought he'd be, that was no excuse.
"Where's Todoroki?" Mihoko blinked, letting Lillian carefully take the potted plant to move it elsewhere. A small hum from the half-and-half boy's new bed alerted the woman as to where he was. The only part of him that was visible was a few messy tufts of red and white hair sticking up haphazardly in front of his pillow. Mihoko couldn't help but smile at that. Hearing of Todoroki's situation, she and Hajime hadn't hesitated to set to work making a space for him. No child deserved a life like the one Shoto Todoroki had been cursed with.
"So the young padawan progresses. Excellent." Neito grinned, earning an eye roll from Hitoshi as he ripped open a bag of the Eco Earth and began dumping it into the tank. Lillian jumped at the chance to help, dumping Yeet on Shoto's head. The teen moved only to pull the snake off his head and let it curl up in his hand instead, eyes not moving from his game of Flappy Bird. How he had such a high score already, Lillian didn't know. She wasn't too sure she really wanted to, either.
"You know, Neito, aren't your parents worried about where you're off to all the time?" Lillian asked as Mihoko handed her the other bag. The girl climbed on her bed to reach over the tank, not wanting to spill any. Neito was constantly staying the night here and going to school when them. Most of the time it was because he accidentally fell asleep, but that only furthered the point that Lillian had never seen or heard him call his parents to let them know where he was and what was going on.
"Eh, they don't give a shit about me." Neito shrugged indifferently as he pulled out Yeet's hide and water dish. "I could probably move out and they wouldn't notice."
Mihoko stared at the blonde boy for a moment before turning and walking out the door. The meme three all raised they eyebrows, watching her march from the room with purpose in her step.
"Honey!" The woman called as she made her way down the hall. "I think we should invest in bunk beds!"

Shota Aizawa is a man dedicated to his work, hence why he found himself up at UA on a Saturday. It was only a day after the festival, but internship forms were already pouring in. Hero agencies all across Japan were scrambling to try and snatch up the best and brightest who'd performed. So far Lillian had the most, followed closely by Todoroki, and then Bakugo. Lillian having come in second and having a powerful quirk drew them in. Todoroki and Bakugo were quickly catching up to the girl due to the flashiness of their moves.
Truthfully, he was a bit nervous about her interning somewhere. Many of the top ten heroes had filed to have her. Hawks had sent about five forms, though he was so young and new to the industry that it only made Aizawa all the more uneasy. Lillian had anxiety, and she was still working through the whole USJ thing. He'd really prefer if she stayed in or near Musutafu if at all possible, but he also knew it wouldn't be right to try and coerce her into choosing a nearby agency.
"Shota Aizawa?" He looked up at the sound of his name. "Package for you. Seems important."
"For me?" He raised a brow, hackles immediately raising as the man came and dropped it on the desk. It wasn't terribly big, but it wasn't small either. It was covered in every sort of ink stamp he'd ever seen, plus some. The original sticker told him it had come all the way from Italy. Why someone in Italy was shipping him packages to UA, he hadn't a shadow of an idea.
"Yep. Whoever sent it paid a hell of a lot of money to get it here as fast as possible. Even paid extra fees to have teleportation-quirk users transport it." The man checked his watch, seeming somewhat curious but also in a hurry. Aizawa frowned. Why was someone in Italy paying copious amounts of money to get him a box? He barely had friends in Japan, let alone any in Italy.
"You sure it isn't a bomb?" Aizawa checked cautiously.
"Nobody opened it, but I know any packages coming in get peeked at with an X-ray quirk of some sort if there isn't a privacy hold over it." He noted lightly. "I don't know, sir. Have a good day."
Aizawa watched him go, mind reeling. He wasn't a popular hero by any means. His name wasn't really known outside of Japan, or even inside it. There was a chance someone had seen him commentating on the Sports Festival, but the only real camera time he'd actually had was when Lillian, Neito, and Hitoshi hugged him. Which he by no means, at all, whatsoever, enjoyed. It wasn't pleasant at all. Not even a little bit. Nope. He hated the whole thing. Especially the part where Lillian smiled and they all wore their Eraserhead shirts. That was totally just... wow, totally his least favorite part. Totally.
But that was all besides the point! Someone had gone to an awful lot of trouble to get him this box. He was pretty sure whatever was inside would kill him, whatever it may be. Still, Aizawa almost wanted to find out. Even if poison gas was released and it blinded him for life, or suffocated him. It would almost be worth it just to see.
His eyes strayed back towards the internship forms he was sorting.
...Yeah, he could open it later.

Kaminari was about 90% sure he'd been profusely sweating ever since his match against Lillian. The cold, blinding fear he'd felt had almost snapped his spine in two with its sheer force. That's how powerful it was! It had held such... such weight to it. And that banner behind her! With, with the drink! The Cranberry Sprite! There was no way that was a coincidence. Fate was working against him. Trying to take him down. How could he do anything other than run? He would have surely been killed otherwise.
"Yo, dude, you sure you're okay?" Kirishima raised an eyebrow. Mina and Sero had dragged him out to Kaminari's house despite his wishes to sleep all day, and they'd found the boy sitting in the back of his closet shaking and muttering about probabilities and how his luck was too rotten to ever possibly be natural.
"I'm fine." Kaminari whispered. "Perfectly fine."
"He's really... He's really not." Mina said weakly, gesturing towards the curled up boy. Sero was too busy Snapchatting the entire thing to actually care, though he was somewhat concerned about Kaminari's mentality. How he had developed a phobia of Cranberry Sprite, anything that even vaguely resembled Bugs Bunny, and someone as sweet as Lillian... well, it was just plain absurd in his eyes.
"Dude, I even talked to Lillian at the festival a few times. She's a chill girl! Super manly!" Kirishima assured with a grin. This only seemed to shake Kaminari more. With a small whimper, the blonde buried his face in his knees. Mina sighed heavily, pulling out her phone to text Lillian to see if there was anything she could do about this.
Alien Queen:
Hey, Kaminari won't come out of the closet
Freckled Mess:
Did you tell him you'd love and accept him no matter what?
Alien Queen:
Oh my god-
Alien Queen:
No but really he's shaking and I think he may be crying
Freckled Mess:
Play Bitch Lasagna by PewDiePie and he'll be okay
Mina's eyebrows shot up. She really hadn't expected Lillian to know that song existed. It was probably thanks to one of her weirdo friends. Mina was pretty sure they were tainting the girl! She would bring it up to the other ladies of 1-A come Monday, but for now they had to try and coax Kaminari back into functioning like a human being. Lillian seemed pretty sure Bitch Lasagna would work, so she saw no problem with giving it a go. It's not like they had anything else to go on.
Looking up the song on You Tube, she carefully set her phone on the ground and slid it closer to the closet. Getting too close caused Kaminari to tense up and hiss like a cornered animal, and nobody wanted that. Kirishima stepped back to stand next to her as the song began to play. Sero had begun to laugh, even more so when Kaminari looked up with a sniffle.
"Holy shit, it's working." Mina whispered. "I think Lillian is the Kaminari Whisperer."
"Amen to that." Kirishima couldn't disagree.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Of course she has a fucking snake." Bakugo muttered, shaking his head and rolling his eyes. "Why wouldn't she have a fucking snake?"
Texting Lillian all day hadn't really been on his to-do list, but the chick was sensitive. Leaving her on read might make her cry or some shit, and she had given him her medal. Even if he wasn't sure why, he couldn't be a total asshole to her now. Plus, talking to her wasn't half bad. She was smarter than he'd originally thought. Not even that annoying. She asked some real deep questions about his quirk that forced him to think more about it and how it could be used, and how it worked. It was mildly refreshing.
He squinted at the photo she'd sent him of her snake, or more specifically, of the background. It's not that he was particularly interested in the contents of her room or anything, but there was something that really stuck out. And by that, he meant there was an entire fucking person in the bed across from hers. In fact, there were two other beds in the background.
Bakugo:
Why the fuck is Icyhot in your room?
Freckled girl:
We kidnapped him so now he's living with us
Bakugo snorted. Why wasn't he surprised?
Bakugo:
Us? You got siblings?
Freckled girl:
Does Hitoshi count?
Bakugo blinked. He blinked again. He reread the message. He reread it again. Then, he blinked some more. It was a whole process. You'd really have to be there to understand. It was super engaging. Way too hard to describe.
Bakugo:
You live with the fucking Turnip now?
Freckled girl:
I'm sorry the fucking what?
He felt another debate coming on. He was oddly fine with that.
Order of business one!
The cover art contest ends March 5th, everyone! That is the last day to post and leave your comment! Also, some people were asking and yes, you can enter more than one piece of art! I'll probably be choosing more than one winner because I've looked at some and all have been amazing so far so I'm gonna be suffering.
Order of business two!
I'm super glad you guys like my story and my OCs. You have absolutely no idea how happy it makes me that you guys are enjoying it and the characters I've created. However, I would greatly appreciated if you did not make accounts for them, did not write stories or one shots with them in it, and did not make things like servers or chats for them.
I'm so relieved you like them, and if you ever want to do art for them, I love seeing it! However I would prefer they, in their written forms and such, stay here on my account or in my Discord. My Discord Server's link is in my bio! There's an entire channel dedicated to Chad and Dabi if you want to join! I just have a weird thing about my characters. I sort of made them, so I don't really like other people using them or anything like that if that makes sense XP Sorry to be so touchy, you guys! It just really stresses me out because it feels like I can't keep track of them or their backgrounds/stories when other people try to write them, make accounts for them, etc!
Order of business three!
I made a One-Shot book for Freeze Frame! It's to put ideas like the ones in the last chapter in, so if you're interested in reading any of that sort of thing, go head over there and check it out! I'll be picking two first placers for the art contest! Then we can slap one of the one-shot book (if the artist is okay with it) and the other can go on this one. Diggity, y'all.
Order of business four!
Art time y'all
Chad! I drew this so can confirm it's about as accurate as it gets. That's the man you've all been worshipping y'all.
Chad again! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH colored it, and she got the colors spot on! Gold eyes and sandy blonde hair ÙwÚ that's Chad. She did a super amazing job.
Art by XInfamousX! I love it so much aldhslkad (idea for drawing goes to xHATTERx) This is awesome. As a huge Naruto fan, I feel I've been sister snatched by this amazing piece of art.
Lillian by QueenCraft915! I love it, and the fact that she's wearing her Eraserhead shirt is amazing.
