Chapter 52

This is totally a filler but like it felt too awkward trying to skip past this stuff so I greatly apologize.

Third person pov

Mic got back around twenty minutes after leaving, red faced and sweaty from running all over the place. Aizawa was somehow with him, not looking at all exhausted. Maybe it was the bandages on his face, though. Either way, the blonde pro hero proudly announced that he was one of Lillian's new, temporary legal guardians. Right next to Aizawa, who gotten temporary custody by default due to the fact that he was her homeroom teacher. How Mic had weaseled his way in, nobody was sure.

Everyone collectively agreed that it would be better for Lillian to stay with the Shinso's, at least for a while. Aizawa grumbled something about his spare room being a mess, and Mic waved his arms around while proclaiming that he needed to move completely so his 'little listener' could have a bedroom of her very own. Lillian had gone red and sputtered out that it wasn't at all necessary. Neito commentated by saying that Lillian could probably be told to sleep on the floor in a corner and she'd be fine with it.

Hitoshi's room had become chaos central. They'd re-arranged it completely, Neito was literally building another bed, with the help of Hajime. The man was happy to have Lillian stay, and disappointed in her not-parents. He'd scoffed and muttered to himself about them being incompetent, proclaiming that 'kidnapping was actually against the law, so what the fuck?' very loudly for everyone to hear.

Lillian tried her very best to minimize the space she took up. She didn't particularly want a new bed, and sharing a bedroom with Hitoshi was going to be odd. Mihoko also didn't seem too sure about the idea, and Lillian could swear on her life that she'd heard something about condoms. Why, she didn't want to know. Hitoshi, Neito, and Hajime all seemed to find absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Aizawa and Mic had been hesitant to leave when they heard Lillian was staying in a room with Hitoshi. They'd both shared a look nobody could quite decipher before saying something about more paperwork and joint custody. At the time, the room was in too much mayhem for anyone to hear what they really said. Hitoshi was hauling paint cans across the house for some reason, the bed thing was happening, someone had a power drill, and Hajime had called in a favor to get another mattress delivered asap.

"It'll be great." Hitoshi assured the nervous girl later that day as sounds of construction filled the house. What were they doing back there? "You know I'm a chill guy. Besides, we both know all we're going to do is watch vines and sing the entire time anyway."

"Fresh and spicy." Lillian sighed heavily. Mihoko appeared, a pleasant smile on her face as she grabbed her son. Claiming she needed to 'borrow' him, which was code for lecture him, she dragged him away by his arm to the kitchen. Lillian could only sit on the couch as the sound of Hajime cursing and Neito crying about something being backwards wafted from down the hall, followed by a bang and more cursing.

Mihoko did indeed pull Hitoshi to the side, gripping him by his upper arms. He stood stock straight, looking like he was about to be accused of murder. He also looked incredibly guilty for some reason. Mihoko raised an eyebrow at him accusingly. He winced just a little.

"Look, it wasn't technically me, okay?" Hitoshi sighed heavily. "Neito thought a slingshot would be a good idea. I didn't know his window would break."

"Y- wait, what?" Mihoko blinked. Hitoshi blinked right back at her. The woman took a deep breath. Right, okay. She could figure out what... that was about later. Right now she needed to have a heart to heart with her son! And the subject, of course, was Lillian. Because the girl was moving in. Again, that wasn't an issue at all. They had more than enough money to support her and Hitoshi, and having her here was an absolute pleasure. But...

"Right, never mind. That's not why I pulled you aside." Mihoko shook her head a little, narrowing her eyes up at her son. He looked reasonably surprised.

"It's not?" He asked carefully, as though she were lying and this were some sort of trap.

"It's not." Mihoko confirmed. "It's about Lillian."

Hitoshi looked like he'd been struck. Horror was painted across his face, and Mihoko was pretty sure he stopped breathing for a second. Not the reaction she had really wanted, or expected. It was... well, it was something. Better than indifference, she guessed? Or maybe this was worse. She had no idea.

"She can't stay?" He asked in a small, terrified voice. Mihoko's face twisted. Was this kid serious?!

"What th- no, Hitoshi, that's not it! Of course she can stay!" Mihoko swatted at him, and he jumped in surprise. Relief washed over his face like a tidal wave. He'd been worried his mom was going to boot her out. "This isn't about that. This is about the fact that you're about to share a room with a girl!"

Hitoshi looked confused. "Uh, yeah. There's nowhere else to put her." He shrugged as though this weren't a big deal. Mihoko scoffed at that. This was the biggest deal to ever be a deal in this household! Though Hitoshi clearly hadn't admitted it to himself yet, it was clear as day to her all-seeing motherly eyes that he had the hots for her. And he was a hormonal teen! She couldn't just leave them alone and hope it went fine.

"Listen, son." She sighed, putting her hands on his shoulders. "She is a girl. You are a boy. You're both hormonal teenagers."

Hitoshi stared at her for a moment before something in him seemed to click. He smiled sheepishly. "Don't worry, we already know she's on her period. I was actually going to run out and get some chocolate before you pulled me aside. And get some pads, since I'm not sure she actually likes tampons. Wait, should I ask? That seems like a bad thing to ask." His nose scrunched up. Mihoko stared. That... okay, not what she was looking for, but she was proud to see he wasn't grossed out!

"...Okay, listen. I'm going to be blunt, because you're missing the entire point of this talk." Mihoko sighed heavily. "Sex, Hitoshi. Do you know what sex is?"

Hitoshi's face went red, and he looked completely lost again. "Mom, what the hell?" He whispered, looking thoroughly weirded out. Still not what Mihoko was going for, but whatever. As long as he processed her words, it was all fine.

"I should have gotten your father to do this." She realized. "It doesn't matter now! Lillian is a sweet, cute girl, right? You're a handsome young man! Both of you are single and very close. So what I'm basically saying is... no frisky business, or I'm kicking you out."

He went red for a moment, eyes wide, before something else took over his face. "Wait, wait, wait. Back it up there." He raised a brow. "You're going to kick me out?"

"She'd never initiate it." Mihoko said as though that explained everything. Hitoshi fell silent.

"...Fair point, but mom, it isn't like that. She's just my best friend, like Neito! Seriously, just... oh my god." Hitoshi covered his red face. Of course he and Lillian didn't feel that way about each other! And yeah, maybe they were at the age when that sort of begun to happen, but... not them two! It was Lillian, and he was him. That wasn't... there's no way... what in the hell was his mother thinking?

"Go get your chocolate." Mihoko sighed heavily. Hitoshi stared at her with wide eyes. "Fine! And condoms!"

"Mother."

Lillian was sitting on the couch with Neito's phone, watching Kaminari type to her in an absolute panic. Most were threats that contradicted each other or would have more of a negative effect on him than they would on her. Unsurprisingly, he had already guessed it was her. That was obvious. She'd been the one behind all the... well, she wouldn't call them attacks. They didn't technically harm him. They did terrify him for one reason or another.

Kaminari:
I know it's u Lillian!!!!

Kaminari:

Kaminari:

Lillian snorted a little, glad to have something to take her mind off all that was happening. She felt oddly numb to it all. She knew the tears would come raining down later, but she could at least enjoy the fact that she was so stressed she could feel nothing anymore in peace. Quickly, she typed out a message.

Unknown number:
The Chungus gets what the Chungus wants.

Kaminari:

Kaminari:

Kaminari:

Kaminari:

Lillian looked up as Hitoshi approached her, blinking curiously at the flushed boy. His hands were at his sides, and his shoulders were tense. His face was incredibly red. He was also sweating for whatever reason. Lillian's eyebrows raised. Just what had Mihoko talked to him about?

"I'm not going to buy condoms." Hitoshi blurted out. Lillian jumped slightly, eyes going wide from confusion. Hitoshi turned redder. "Dammit. I'm going to go get you chocolate!"

Lillian blinked owlishly. "O-Oh, you don't h-have to?" She stuttered nervously, taken aback and not too sure how she was supposed to respond to that. She spotted Mihoko peeking out from the kitchen at them. The woman shot Lillian a thumbs up, as though to tell her she was doing good. What she was doing good at, she didn't know.

"Ah, don't worry about it." Hitoshi laughed awkwardly, clearing his throat. The heat in his face faded a little. "You okay?"

Lillian smiled. "I'm so stressed that my body has numbed me to anything and everything. You could probably die and I'd only cry for two minutes." She said it as though that wasn't an issue. Hitoshi's nose scrunched up.

"Right... so not great..." He narrowed his eyes at her. "We're going to have a Glee marathon until you feel better. I'll get snacks."

He was gone before Lillian could respond. The girl could only gaze after him, a small smile forming on her face. She really didn't deserve such good friends. What she'd done to get such amazing people on her side, she had absolutely no idea. But she was grateful. She'd probably be dead in a ditch somewhere if not for them, even if she hadn't known them that long. She couldn't imagine her life without Hitoshi, Neito, and the Shinso's anymore. Not without Mr. Aizawa, or Mr. Mic, or any of her other classmates. She took out Neito's phone again.

Unknown Number:
Even you're important, Kaminari

Kaminari:
Wtf does that mean oh god

Lillian shrugged.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something horrifying was happening to Aizawa. He didn't know why, but in a single day, everything had changed for him! All of it! Not only was he the official (temporary) legal guardian of one of his students, but his mind was beginning to wander in a bad direction. He kept thinking, what would it be like if Lillian came to live with him? Surely the Shinso's couldn't house her forever. Where else would she go?
He had already begun to think of his empty guest bedroom. It was an absolute mess, as he'd mainly been using it to store things. He couldn't help but imagine what it may be like if she moved in there. There was room, and he already had it furnished. She could definitely move in there. What would that be like? To have her here, living. He wouldn't just see her at training and at school. She'd be sleeping here, and eating here. This would become her home.
It wasn't ideal, but Mic had managed to squeeze his way in as her legal guardian as well. He wasn't sure how he'd done it so fast, but he had. Now Mic was also looking for a new place so he could house her! Him, let her move in! He hated that idea, but it could potentially happen. That was the worst part! Aizawa didn't think Mic raising a teenager was a good or healthy idea, but the only thing he could do to stop it was to fight to get Lillian in his care.
He sighed heavily. He had some research to do.
