Third person pov
Neito Monoma has absolutely no idea what just happened, but he finds himself a bit... taken-aback really isn't strong enough to express how he feels, but it's what comes closest. Honestly, other than that, he doesn't know how to feel. Some girl whom he vaguely recognizes as being a member of class 1-A grabbed him and referenced a video he actually knew quite well. Not that he'd ever admit to that. But to say he was flabbergasted... was an understatement.
One of 1-A's snobby students, who he will begrudgingly admit doesn't seem as self-entitled in comparison to the other buffoons, had referenced a meme. He recognized it the moment he heard the girl and her sleep-deprived friend calling out for 'little Timmy.' Not that he'd ever say that out loud. He couldn't have people knowing that he... he was a closet memer. It would ruin him!
Imagine his surprise when the girl grabbed him and spouted the words of Brandon Rogers with fake panic painted across her face. How could he not be just a little awed at her bold move? In middle school, Neito had found himself picked on for liking such nerdy internet trends. Not much, but it was enough to make him fold. He wanted be taken seriously here at UA. If that meant hiding the fact that his thoughts were all vine references at this point, then so be it.
Though... that girl was in Class 1-A, and though he hadn't recognized the boy with purple hair, it was clear he had just as much confidence when it came to memes as the girl. Them running off cackling and shouting back and fourth about Timmy was enough proof. He found himself almost wanting to join them. But of course, that was beneath him!
...That didn't mean he couldn't at least... dwell on that 1-A girl and her friend just a bit.

"Lillian, are you okay?" Ochako leans over to whisper. Lillian had rushed ahead to class after sputtering an apology out to her homeroom teacher for hugging him without permission. Though he assured her that it wasn't a big deal, she couldn't stop herself from being immensely embarrassed. Crying in front of people wasn't something she enjoyed. It made her feel embarrassed and ashamed. Crying in front of someone she idolized had to be about seven times worse.
"Y-Yeah." Lillian knew her eyes were red and puffy. "S-Sorry."
"Don't apologize! Oh... but I wanted to ask you something." Ochako seemed the remember something. Lillian braced herself for the worst. What if Ochako didn't want to be friends anymore? What would she say? What if Todoroki overheard and told someone? Not that he seemed like the gossiping type or anything. But what if Iida heard? He'd mention it, and then Ochako would be embarrassed, and-
"This morning, Tsu and I were walking and thought we saw you sprint past us with some purple-haired dude. We thought you yelled something about a stroke..." Ochako looked severely unsure. Lillian felt nothing but cold, hard relief. Her expression immediately smoothed over, and she gave Ochako a small smile.
"I-I don't believe that was me, n-no." Lillian answered with as straight a face as anyone would expect to see on someone like her. It was just as timid. Lillian lied so well that she almost had herself convinced. Ochako took it with a smile and a thumbs up. It was pretty clear she hadn't really thought it was Lillian before. The freckled girl turned to face the front of the room just as Mr. Aizawa walked in.
"Mr. Aizawa, what are you doing here?!" Half the class cried out in a panic, and Lillian could see the realization as to why Lillian's eyes were red-rimmed dawn on her. Lillian ducked her head a little, cheeks coloring with embarrassment as the fresh memory of the hug she'd forced on her poor teacher bubbled to the surface.
"Whoa, what a pro!" Kaminari's eye was twitching as he exclaimed this, a rather disturbed look on his face. Nobody could much blame the guy. Aizawa looked more mummy than not, and like he should still be in the hospital. Lillian felt her lungs squeeze with concern once more. She was glad her teacher was back, and moreover, alive, but she couldn't help but feel worried for him.
"Mr. Aizawa! I'm glad you're okay!" Iida raised his hand as he said this for good measure. Ochako and Lillian shared a look, eyebrows raised.
"You call that... okay?" The brunette asked in a quiet, hesitant tone.
"He need some milk." Lillian murmured so quietly nobody heard her, though she thought maybe she saw Todoroki shoot her a quick glance. She did her best to brush it off as a trick of the mind, muttering to herself so lowly not even she could hear the words slipping past her lips. Truly, Mr. Aizawa should be at home, resting.
"My well being is irrelevant." Mr. Aizawa came to a stop in front of the podium. He sounded tired, and his voice seemed scratchier than usual. "What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet."
Lillian felt her breath hitch. What did he mean their fight wasn't over yet? Her mind jumped from possibility to possibility. Had some of the villains they'd apprehended gotten away? Was it... had the Nomu somehow managed to escape? Lillian had seen first hand just how strong it was. It had held down Mr. Aizawa like it was nothing, and Lillian knew well and good that her teacher wasn't weak.
"Our fight?" Bakugo's voice was low, but held a sharp tone to its edge.
"Don't tell me..." Izuku's eyes widened. Lillian was sure he probably had about the same idea she did.
"Not another villain!" Mineta looked mortified by the prospect, prompting several of her classmates to exchange glances. Lillian found herself eyeing Ochako, giving a nervous smile to Iida, and offering a shaky nod to Midoriya, who'd turned around to look at his three best friends in class.
Aizawa sighed, opening his eyes. "The UA sports festival is about to start." His tone was serious and rocky, and it sent a fearful quiver down Lillian's spine. She felt the color drain from her skin. How could she possibly have forgotten about UA's famous sport's festival? She and her family had watched it together everyday for about as long as she could remember.
The class immediately exploded with excited chatter.
"Yes!" Kirishima slammed his fists down onto his desk, leaning forward to try and contain his glee. Lillian felt the words to 'fuck this shit I'm out' run through her head at lighting speed, mingling with a clear 'oh hell naw' that seemed to echo in her ears. Hitoshi was infecting her, and she was fine with that. It was helping her cope. Kirishima failed to contain himself, "Let's go kick some ass!"
Kaminari's face slapped right into his cheek, stopping him. Jiro piped up. "Wait a second." She said. "Is it really such a good idea to be hosting the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?"
Lillian took a few deep breaths. The Sports Festival was absolutely brutal in literally every way imaginable. She didn't want to fight her classmates! Or anyone, for that matter! How could she? Wouldn't it be unfair to simply freeze them and use that to her advantage, even if it was her quirk? Her quirk wasn't really a combat one. It didn't strengthen her like Izuku's did, nor could she create ice or set off explosions with her sweat alone. All it did was... stop things.
"They could attack once we're all in one place." Ojiro brought up an excellent point that made Lillian more panicked. Ochako shot her a sympathetic glance, giving her an encouraging smile in an attempt to reassure her that things would be fine.
"I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me." Lillian whispered, tugging nervously on her bangs. Todoroki definitely heard her that time, shooting her another glance. She tried to keep her cheeks from flaming with embarrassment.
Aizawa gave another sigh. "Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever. Plus they're going to be beefing up the festival's security compared to past years." He tells them, his eyes straying to Lillian, who was quietly panicking to herself. He feels himself sigh again. He's surrounded by problem children.
"This event is a huge opportunity for all students at UA." Aizawa continued. "It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains."
"Uh, I'm sorry, but why not?" Mineta asked, horror in his eyes. "It's just a sports festival!"
"Huh? Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Izuku asked, sounding a little lost. Lillian took a few deep breaths. Well, she certainly didn't want the festival canceled, and of course she didn't truly think the villains would risk another attack so soon, and in a place where several pros would be, but that didn't make er any less nervous. Her? Against her peers, who just so happened to be super strong?
"Of course I do! I just don't want to get murdered." Mineta responded fearfully.
"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the world. In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic games. But then Quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The UA sports festival." Aizawa explained tiredly.
Lillian was going to have a mental breakdown. Of course she knew how big the crowds were, and how many people watched. Practically the whole world tuned in just to watch UA students duke it out. She'd been one of those people! Her family's excitement wasn't even as large as some of the other people they knew. The public obsessed over this tournament and its outcome. And she was going to be in it.
"That's right! And top heroes everywhere will be watching." Momo clenched her fist. "This is where you get scouted."
"Sure, unless you're dead." Mineta scoffed.
"She's right. After graduating, a lot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick." Kaminari gave a thumbs up and didn't elaborate further. It was pretty clear his knowledge on the subject was limited, but Lillian was absolutely no better. She had no idea what to expect. She was pretty sure the wiring in her brain was malfunctioning. Was this real life? Or was this just fantasy? She felt like she was stuck in a landslide, with no escape from reality. Hell, she'd even begun to incorporate Queen into her thoughts!
Basically, she was about to have a mental breakdown. Right there. In class.
"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go. They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks." Jiro responded blandly. She turned towards the blonde fully. "Actually, that's probably where you're headed. You're kind dumb."
Ochako and Lillian both winced at that, as did some of their fellow peers.
"It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity. That's why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open the path for you." Aizawa said, eyes sharp as ever. Lillian took a few deep breaths, calming herself. It was once a year, and of course "One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival."
Lillian clenched her fists, taking another deep breath. She could do this. She had to do this.
"That means you better not slack off on your training."
"Yes, sir!"
