Someone pointed out that it's not technically a filler if the story is still progressing so that's nice,,, but I'm still sorrY HDKS-

That being said this one isn't a filler so enjoy-

Third person pov

Shota Aizawa really didn't want to go to work Monday, but though he wouldn't admit it, he was quite eager to see his students again. Last he'd seen the lot of them, they'd all been whisked away to various parts of the USJ, and left to fend for themselves against the present villains. He knew most of them had gotten away just fine. The villains that had gathered consisted mostly of low-level thugs, but Lillian...

Last he'd seen her, blood had been spilling from between her lips. Her eyes were wide with terror and fear, and her cheeks were stained with tears. She looked horrible, with blood covering her clothing. He could still hear her voice, shaky and terrified, ringing in his ears as she reached out for him. He didn't know why it was sticking with him. It sent a shiver down his spine when he recalled it, and made him nauseous. Just knowing that his student had to...

He grunted, shaking the thought off as best he could. He wasn't usually one to worry. He just... no kid should have to wear such an expression. The memories, the flashes of Lillian's pained and fearful eyes, still bore down on him. They beat at his blank facade heavily. It was honestly tiring. He was sure it would all go away once he saw for himself that, yes, she was perfectly fine.

"You ready to rummmmble?!" Mic asked loudly. Seeing as Aizawa's arms were out of commission, his blonde friend had made it a point to help him out. Aizawa wouldn't have minded much if not for the volume of Mic's voice. He was too loud for his own good. Shota had a sneaking suspicion he'd still be that way even if his quirk wasn't related to his voice.

Lillian was walking to school with Hitoshi once again. She really couldn't imagine not going to and from school with him anymore. It had quickly become routine after just one day. She was glad, too, because she hadn't seen Bakugo lurking about anymore. It's not that she didn't like him. He was just... very brash, and such. Not that he wasn't a good person or anything! He was just really... rough around the edges, and not super nice sometimes. That's all. Not that Lillian's opinion actually mattered, right? Right.

"Have your friends laid off about the note yet?" Hitoshi asked as they approached the school.

"Y-Yeah, I think they d-dropped it." Lillian grinned up at him. Big Chungus drinks Cranberry Sprite would go down in history. She planned to keep bringing it up, but keep herself out of their suspicions. Then she'd make it her senior quote and blow their minds. Was that petty? Absolutely. That's exactly why she was doing it.

"For now." Hitoshi murmured, and they bumped fists. His eyes shifted to the gates. "I hate Mondays."

"We're single mothers making a difference, Hitoshi. I-It can't be helped." Lillian shrugged, pulling at the straps of her backpack.

"Samantha, grab your tablet sweetie. I don't want you talking to me." Hitoshi shook his head. Lillian sighed heavily as though burdened somehow, though she was smiling as well.

"Morning, Donna!" Lillian called to no one in particular. "I love what you did with the tulips."

"Fucking bitch." Hitoshi muttered, grinning. Lillian tried not to snicker. Hitoshi honestly didn't mind going to school, or waking up to walk with Lillian. He used to find getting up so early grueling, but now he sort of looks forward to it. He really likes being around Lillian, and he likes to think she likes being around him too.

They go back and forth as they enter UA's property, their voices lowering. Lillian is practically bouncing next to him. He's impressed and proud that she's got the thing memorized. It actually sort of warms his heart to an extent. Makes him feel lighter and more exhilarated in a way, because he's never had a friend like this. He's never even known someone like this before now.

"Shit, my baby is french fries." Lillian gasps quietly, and Hitoshi has to stifle a laugh as they walk closer to the school.

"Jesus, these are fucking cute." Hitoshi grounds out, grinning in a way he's sure looks creepy, but not caring. Lillian doesn't seem too intimidated. Then again, she has Aizawa as a homeroom teacher, and even Hitoshi has heard the rumors circulating about him.

"No you can't have milk on taco Tuesday!" Lillian switches to concerned mother. A bold move. "It's not Mexican!"

"No, I don't have a favorite child. I do have a least favorite, and it's the youngest." Hitoshi whispers back, and she elbows him, snickering. He elbows back lightly, looking away. He's afraid he'll lose it in the middle of the hallway if he looks at her too long.

"That's it, you just lost toilet paper privileges." Lillian snapped playfully. "Have fun getting creative."

Hitoshi almost chokes at that one. She nudges him again. A few people have glances their way as they idly wander the halls. They're pretty early, so there aren't too many people around. Hitoshi is glad. He knows Lillian gets nervous in crowds. He can't really blame her. Really, he's not fond of them either.

"I need you to stop going through puberty." Hitoshi said softly. Lillian almost trips.

"Come on, we're going on a casserole drive by." Lillian responds, nudging him. He snorts and jerks his head in acknowledgment. Something dawns on Lillian's face. Whatever it is, she doesn't voice it.

"Timmy, where are you baby? Mama wants to go home and get dr- go to sleep." Hitoshi calls out. A few people from 1-B glance at them but quickly go back to their conversation.

"Timmy, where are you?!" Lillian calls out. More glances, but neither pay any heed. Hitoshi personally doesn't care about other people's opinions of him much anymore. Not when it comes to vines, at least. Lillian also seems decently comfortable.

"The mother's adrenaline is kicking in." Hitoshi brings a hand up to clutch the fabric of his blazer that rests over his heart, almost breaking out into laughter. Lillian is holding strong, though she's grinning wickedly. He's glad to see her so open while not in the security of her own house.

Lillian get's a glint in her eye before her face goes slack, morphing into one of over-concern that stuns Shinso and makes his shoulders tense. Hitoshi's mouth falls open as she stops walking and whips around, grabbing one of the students from 1-B by his arms. He's some blonde kid with blue eyes, and he immediately freezes, confusion painted clear as day across his face. Hitoshi is silently choking in the background.

"Ma'am, have you seen my son?!" She asks, eyes wide with concern. The boy blinks rapidly down at her as she pulls him closer, eyes desperate. She removes one hand to gesture, "He's about this tall, clearly gay but we haven't had the talk."

"What the hell?!" The boy wriggles from her grasp immediately, and Lillian turns around, her eyes meeting Hitoshi's. They don't hesitate to take off down the hall, Hitoshi's laughter breaking loose, and Lillian's following soon after. Adrenaline spikes in both their bodies as what Lillian just did sinks in, and it only makes them laugh harder as they round the corner, Hitoshi shouting a brief 'Timmy, are you in there?!' as they pass a trash can, just for good measure.

"I'm gonna have a stroke!" Lillian shrieks out as she and Hitoshi sprint past Ochako and Tsu. The pair of girls both freeze , whipping around. Lillian and her purple-haired friend have already turned the corner. The two both wonder if they actually just saw and heard that. Lillian screaming at the top of her lungs while running down the hall really doesn't seem like something she'd do, but then again, who knows.

Nezu watches this all from the cameras, cackling into his tea.

As it draws nearer to the bell, Lillian bids Hitoshi farewell at his classroom before beginning to bounce towards her own. They spent the morning running around and doing god knows what. Lillian almost ran face first into King Vlad. The man opened his mouth to scold them but Lillian blurted out a swift "there's no time for seat belts!" before Hitoshi was dragging her away so they could both avoid detention.

She turns the corner and freezes completely, the smile on her face dropping, and her eyes going wide. Aizawa blinks back in clear surprise. Bandages cover his entire face, but there are slits for his eyes that she can see. Light blue meets coal black, and it feels as though her soul as left her body, her breath hitching in her throat, and her shoulders going slack. She doesn't even realize there are tears in her eyes, or that she's clenching her backpack straps. Not until he says her name.

"Lillian?" His tone is just as bland as it has always been, though there's an undertone of concern that sneaks its way in. Lillian opens her mouth, but a strangled sort of squeak is all that manages to shake before she's closing it again. Her teeth clack together painfully at the force, her lips pressing into a thin line as she tries to remind herself to breathe.

"M-M-Mr. Aizawa?" Her voice is very quiet. Aizawa frowns as she shakes, his chest becoming tighter and tighter as she looks at him with this... this fear. He's here, alive, but she looks terrified. He knows it's not of him. He's not the thing he's afraid of. Hell, he can practically see the memories flitting past her eyes as she stares at him.

"I'm alright." He assures her. "I'll make a full recovery. No need to cry."

That only seems to make her cry harder, and she takes a small step towards him without seeming to realize it. He watches silently, his side aching. He ignores it. He's felt worse pain than this before. It's not as bad as it was. He's taking a hall of a lot of painkillers to dull it down. Still, it twinges anytime he takes a breath too deep, and currently? He's taking a lot of deep breaths.

Lillian takes another step, and then another, hesitantly reaching out. He let's her. Honestly, he's afraid moving will make it worse, and he honestly doesn't want to see what happens if he talks again. Despite that, he's relieved to see her. She's alright, standing here. Sure, she seems to be on the verge of falling into an extremely bad panic attack that Aizawa will inevitably have no idea how to deal with, but at least she's safe. Seeing that makes him feel as though a heavy weight has been lifted off of him.

Her hand softly comes in contact with one of his casts. He obviously can't feel this, but he sees the way her chest shudders as she takes a deep breath, pulling her hand away as though she's been burned. For a moment he thinks he hears her heart racing, but he then realizes that it's actually his own as she looks at him with such relief and awe. Amazement is the last thing he expected to see on her face.

"Y-Y-You're-" Lillian wiped at her eyes rapidly. "I-I'm sorry, M-Mr. A-" She can't finish, choking out a sob.

"Hey, it's alright." Aizawa blinks a few times. Is he getting teary-eyed too? He guesses he's never really had someone so outwardly afraid for him. Hizashi was good at keeping a smile on his face in a crisis, so long as it didn't involve a bug. Lillian was someone who wore her heart on her sleeve for the world to see. "You saved my life, kid. I owe you a thank you... and an apology."

"No." Lillian snapped, hiccuping as she desperately wiped at her eyes. She was more hunched over now. Aizawa heard the bell ring, but the girl didn't seem to notice. He didn't mind. They could afford to be late, just this once.

"No?" He asks. His voice sounds far away. He takes a few deep breaths to try and stop his chest from constricting the way it does. Him, feeling human emotion? This is more serious than he thought.

"N-No." Lillian's eyes meet his, and there's something steely in them. He almost flinches at the sight. Lillian is meek and shy, but what he sees before him is bold. It's very strong, and he recognizes it briefly as something he saw at the USJ. In those flashes. "You d-don't have to th-thank me f-f-for that, o-or apologize. I would n-never let you die, M-Mr. Aizawa. I would ne-never let anyone, n-not myself, n-not my classmates, o-or my family, or anyone else d-die if I could help i-it."

The grin that stretches across his face under his bandages hurts. It pulls at at his injuries. The one under his eye stings, and the recently-healed fracture in his jaw aches, but he can't much help himself. Lillian was so reserved and timid. She didn't work well with others, but it wasn't because she was a loner like Todoroki, or an asshole like Bakugo. She was simply too shy, and not confident enough in her opinions.

But now, now he could see something there. Something not many people had this early on. It was the same sort of thing he'd seen in the eyes of Midoriya Izuku, but different in its own way. It was powerful, and very present. It shone out at him like a beacon. He couldn't help but wonder just how he'd managed to miss it before.

"You're going to be a great hero, kid." His voice felt scratchy. "Hell, I'd say you already are one."

Lillian hiccups a little, and before Shota can react, her arms around around him. He knows what she did was spontaneous, and he appreciates how careful she is to keep her touch light, but it still makes him tense. He stares down at her with wide eyes, not sure what to say. He's actually relieved for a moment that his arms were completely demolished, because that means he doesn't have to hug back at the moment.

"S-S-Sorry." She squeaked, though she doesn't let go. He doesn't tell her to. He's still afraid she'll spiral into a panic attack, and oddly enough, he doesn't really mind. It's almost comforting, the hug. Reassuring in a way. "I-I... I-I-I thought you we-were going to die, a-and I was s-scared, Mr. Aizawa. I-I-I was r-really scared."

"I'm sorry, kid." He sighed heavily. He almost wishes he could ruffle his hair, though he's not sure that's a gesture she'd appreciate or find comforting. "I was scared too. It's alright to be."

Lillian doesn't say anything, but he thinks she understands anyway.
