Chapter 9
~Sans POV~
I had fallen asleep in Y/N's arms last I remembered. I didn't mean to, but she makes me feel so safe it's hard not to. When I woke up I was curled up on top of something warm. I didn't know what it was, so I tried to go back to sleep. Then whatever I was on top of started moving. I froze, panicking. Usually when I woke up on something moving that meant my brother hand thrown me into his torture room and one of his victims was still alive, close to dead, cold, but alive. This body, however, was warm.
I opened my eyes and shifted to see what I was curled up on. When I looked I saw Y/N. I was curled up in her lap and she was sleeping soundly against the corner of the wall. I blushed slightly, not sure what to do at this point. I was embarrassed, to say the least, that I was even small enough to curl up in someone's lap, not to mention Y/N's. I sighed, I didn't really want to get up, and curled back up into her lap. I fell asleep moments later.
I was sitting in Waterfall, the sound of rushing water playing a melodic song in my ears. My tail was wrapped around my legs, which I had hugged to my chest. I sighed, relaxing my bones and melting into the melody. Then I heard his footsteps.
I jumped up and hid in the tall grasses. My soul was beating out of my chest, and I was shaking uncontrollably. The footsteps grew closer and my ears perked up. Soon enough, faint yelling accompanied the footsteps. "SANS! WHERE ARE YOU YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?" It was Papyrus, looking for me.
My breath hitched as I heard him stop just outside the grass where I was hiding. I could make out his figure just on the other side of the reeds. He seemed to glare into them at me before moving on. As soon as I felt that he had left I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. I didn't want to go back to that place. I knew what he would do if I did, so I leaned back against the stone walls, still hidden in the reeds, and let the sound of the water lull me to sleep.
The dreamscape changed and the time seemed to fast forward to when Papyrus found me.
I had been hiding in Waterfall for months, living off nothing but scraps. I had been seen by one, maybe two monsters, but they were small, insignificant to Papyrus. He wouldn't listen to them, or so I thought.
I was sitting on the ground beside the river, the raging waters still creating a calming song that I enjoyed when I was suddenly picked up by the back of my hood. "Sans" the sound of that voice made me stiffen, freeze. My breath stopped, and I swear my soul had stopped beating. Papyrus turned me towards him and teleported home. I was in deep trouble now. Papyrus almost never teleports.
"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?" he screamed at me. I flinched but remained silent. When I speak he hurts me worse.
He growled when I didn't answer and threw me up against the wall, causing something to break, and continued to kick me, breaking many of my ribs. He picked me up by my hood and locked me in my room again, leaving me to suffer with my wounds.
I shot awake, still in Y/N's lap. She stirred and woke up, noticing my panicked expression. "Hey, you alright?" she asked me. I shook my head 'no' and her smile fell. "What happened?" I mumbled and almost incoherent 'nightmare' in response. "Papyrus?" she asked me. I nodded in response and she hugged me.
I froze, not expecting the sudden contact, but accepted the hug. "I'm so weak" I mumbled to myself. Y/N apparently heard because she replied. "No you're not. Trust me, I know." There was a hint of sadness in her voice, but I really wasn't paying attention. I was just enjoying the comfort of the hug.
