Chapter 11

~Your POV~

You awoke slowly, almost forgetting about the skeleton that currently rested in your lap. You realized he was there as he shifted in your lap. You froze for a moment and looked down, smiling at him. He was only a few inches shorter than you, but he looked so small when he was curled up in your lap. He was sleeping peacefully, a look of absolute tranquility plastered on his face. That tranquil expression morphed into a pained one and he began to whimper quietly. His ears that had been lying limp on his head were now pressed down against his skull. He started to quiver and shake, his ribs rattling against each other ever so slightly.

You started to grow worried and pulled him up into a hug. You rubbed his spine, effectively stopping his form from shaking and rattling. His eyes were still shut tight, and his ears were still pressed to his head, but he had calmed down. You sighed, still hugging the small mass of bones and fur close to your chest. You reached a hand up to his ears and brushed them softly. The odd purring sound came from him and he finally calmed down completely. You sighed, relaxing your arms and making an attempt at standing up. When you tried to put Sans down on the bed he whined and gripped your jacket, effectively entrapping you in his grasp. You chuckled and replaced your left arm around his figure, lifting him up. You stood, careful not to wake up the sleeping figure. He was surprisingly light for his size, and you could easily carry him in one arm.

You opened the door and walked to the living room. Sans had his arms up against your chest, still clinging to your jacket. His snores were filling your ears as he buried his face in the crook of your neck in his sleep. You chuckled and blushed slightly. Stepping over to the couch, you turned the TV on and sat down, enjoying a happy little movie at low volume in hopes of not waking Sans up.

You were sprawled out across the couch, head against the armrest. You had one knee propped up against the backrest of the couch, the other straightened up against the seat. Your tail was hanging limp from the edge, and your ears were relaxed against your H/C hair. Sans was lying on your chest, still resting soundly. You had an arm around him, keeping him from rolling off you and onto the floor. His tail was tucked between your side and the couch, and his ears were relaxed as well.

To be honest, you were paying more attention to Sans than the movie. Every time he'd move in his sleep your grip would tighten ever so slightly, moving him closer to the backrest of the couch. His snores filled your ears, bouncing off your ear drums. Then, he stirred. It wasn't his usual asleep stir, but more of a waking up stir. His eyes fluttered open and he looked like he didn't notice you. You smirked, an idea popping up in your head.

You leaned down into Sans' ear and whispered "Mornin' Sansy." he yawned

mumbled a 'mornin' in return. Then a sudden realization hit his face and his eyes shot open. "FUCK!" he screamed, trying to push himself off you, only succeeding in slipping and falling back on your chest. You chuckled and sat up, helping him off you. His face had erupted in a luminescent, red blush.

"Ya know Sans, you're adorable." You didn't even know it was possible for his face to get any more red. "Shuh-shut uh-uh-up." he stuttered out. It was hilarious. You could barely hold back your laughter. "Fine" you fake whined, "Do you wanna choose a movie?" you asked. Apparently the movie you had been watching ended. The credits were now rolling up the screen. Sans nodded and inched towards the movie box, pulling out the first in the Chronicles of Narnia Series, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. You chuckled, putting the DVD into the player, and suspecting that the only reason he chose it was the lion on the front.

You returned back to the couch and sat down on Sans' right. It seemed that Papyrus was asleep, because he hadn't said anything. 'I'll have to go check on him later' you thought to yourself. He was being far too quiet. The movie started, the war zone being the first thing the two of you saw. Sans was completely confused. This war was a piece of human history that you had taken part in during the centuries that you were on the surface alone. It was the first of many questions Sans asked during the three hours of watching the two hour and ten minute movie.

"What's going on?" Sans asked you while watching the war scene in the beginning of the movie. "That's World War II." you responded. "What's that?" That took you by surprise. Then you thought about how the monsters had been underground. They had probably not heard any human news at all. "It was one of the biggest and bloodiest wars in human history. Think of it like the world against the world." you, of course, weren't very good at explaining it. The only part of the war you participated in was the part that had come around Ebott. You protected yourself and kept sure of humans coming close to the drop down into the underground. You didn't want any of the soldiers falling down into the underground. "Huh" Sans replied. He didn't look like he was actually listening. He was more immersed in the movie than you were.

Nearing the end of the movie, when Edmund was battling the White Witch, he was on the edge of his seat. "Jeez dude, what's got you so worked up?" you asked him. It was concerning that such a battle scene would get him so worked up. "Dunno, I just- I dunno. This movie is fucking amazing though!" he half screamed as Edmund broke the White Witch's wand, essentially winning the battle and freeing Narnia. "I'm actually surprised you like it this much. You never struck me as a fairy tale sort of guy." you stated truthfully. Sans always seemed to be more into the blood and gore. That could've just been habit though. From what you remembered of monsters, they weren't exactly the nicest bunch.

"I dunno, maybe you just misjudged me." he shrugged, still immersed in the soon to end battle scene on the screen. "Yeah, maybe... Now!" you clapped your hands, grabbing Sans' attention as the movie credits began to roll down the screen. "Howzabout this? I'm gonna go find some food, then we can eat some dinner while enjoying the next two movies in this series." Sans eyes lit up. "Heh, I'll take that as a yes then." you smiled and stood up, looking for some venison to start cooking. Surprisingly, it only took about a half an hour, and after that time you were in the living room with Sans, two plates of food and two movies to enjoy.
