As we walked in I suddenly realized I had no idea who's party this was. "Um Maddy? Do you know who's party this is?" I asked confused.

"Nope! It's  for 18 and older and we are NOT 18 years old yet." She said smiling.

"Wow. That's illegal. I'm out." I said turning around and walking out. Maddy followed me and I said she could stay but I was going to walk around town till the party was over. As I was leaving I noticed Nathan following me. "What are you doing?" I asked.

"Being your bodyguard." He said and smiled while walked up to my side. I rolled my eyes.

"Sure." I said as he grabbed my hand. I knew how much trouble I'd be in if my dad found out but honestly I didn't care. I hate him. Just like he hates me. I was about to walk into a store but he pulled me off to the side and into a field. We walked while talking about his family and talking about mine. Neither of us looked at each other till we were a mile from town. My face was flushed when he turned me to face him.

"I believe this is your favorite flower." He said handing me a thornless, silver rose. This was the color of my eyes. I loved it. It was my favorite type yes, but I never told him that so I don't know how he knew. He must've read my mind because he said, "I saw you draw one on a piece of paper and say it was your favorite flower." He was smiling.

"Thanks." I said blushing.i had a faint smile.

"I told you that you would smile again." He said.

"But they told me it was impossible." I said with a stunned looks on my face.

"Well. Maybe some things are possible. You just have to try." He said and we were kissing as the sun went down. "I do believe that we have to go pick up Maddy, correct?" He said smiling.

"Yes. Yes we do." I said and we walked back in a comfortable silence. When we got to Maddy she noticed my smile and the rose in my hair.

"What the heck happened while you to were gone? Are you two a thing now? Hold on. Max! Are you smiling?!" She said inspecting my face. "OMG! What did you guys do?! Omg my bestie has a boyfriend!" Maddy said with a smile.

"Oh shut up." Nathan and I said at the same time. We all broke out laughing and I said, "You can't tell my dad. Got it Maddy?" She nodded her head.

We went home laughing and chatting and when we got to Maddy's house, we had to sneak into her house through the upstairs window. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
