CHAPTER 2
“THESEUS!” Tiny Techno cheered when Philza had asked for opinions on names for the new baby that Rose still held, also holding back laughter at her firstborn's excitement.
“Theseus?” Philza knew his obsession for the demi-god was getting a little, well, much, but naming his child after him? “Really?” Wilbur was joining in now, chanting with his bigger brother.
“Thisus! Thisus!” Philza sighed, chuckling as he looked over to the pig hybrid female who too was laughing now.
“I think Theseus is a great name.” She spoke, the two kids cheering ‘yays’. Philza was outnumbered, letting himself slouch as he laughed at his family.
“Theseus it is, then.”

Tommy climbed over another fallen tree trunk, Tubbo not far behind him. “It's so beautiful out here.” The avian looked around with glittering blue eyes. Tubbo chuckled, himself looking around the mystical forest.
“It is.” He agreed. Tommy’s smile faded a bit, his wings slouching as another thought entered his mind.
“I wish I could stay out here.” Tubbo frowned at his friend's words, his fists tightening. “It's so relaxing, I feel so free out here.”
“I wish you could too.” Tommy looked back to the other, a sweet smile on his face. “It's not fair that all you do is train, you never got a childhood, Tommy.” The prince was fourteen, and since he was nine he was trained day and night. He only ever got free time one day per week, between his royal studies, normal studies, and hard training he never got to experience what being a kid really was. Sure, Tubbo was sixteen, but he was a soldier. He worked a few days of the week and went home to his father. He had friends he would get into mistiaff with, and just be teens with. But Tommy was stuck in the castle, he wasn’t allowed to leave unless king Dream said so, and that was rare.
“Dream says it's important for me to train as hard as I do, Tubbo.” The goat hybrid frowned, jumping over the log separating the two before talking once again.
“It may be important Tommy, but you never have much free time to just be you.” He paused. “Do you even know who you actually are?” The prince seemed to pause at the sudden question, his blue eyes diverting to the ground as they clouded. Tubbo waited patiently for an answer, his brown eyes watching the other carefully.
“Yes, I do.” Tubbo narrowed his eyes, brows scrunching.
“Then who are you?” Tommy seemed confident, lifting his chin higher and letting his wings flare open a bit, a cheeky smile piercing his lips.
“I am prince Tommy, brother to Dream and the best fighter in the Dreamer kingdom.” Tubbo frowned, clearly not happy with the answer.
“If you say so, Tommy.” The other nodded, continuing their adventure.
Four Days Later. . .
Philza sat at the edge of the forest closest to Dreams castle, eyeing it carefully as if waiting for a moment to strike even though the three family members decided to wait till dusk hit. The king was anxious, his leg hopping and wings shivering as he waited, patient eyes never leaving the castle. The two sons were worried for their father, he seemed worked up. It was strange for the two to see their father like this, even before a battle with other kingdoms he never acted like this. The two always suspected the other was hiding something from them, but never questioned their father. Maybe it was the fact after so many years he was finally going to get his revenge for their mother's death?
A sigh left the oldest brother, who sat sharpening his sword in the chaos of their newly set up camp. Wilbur was next to the other, watching his father with examining eyes. “What do you think is going on with dad?” Techno slowly stopped what he was doing, his blue eyes looking over to the king before back to his little brother.
“He’s just anxious, calm down.” The hybrid grumbled annoyed. Wilbur paused again, eye squinting.
“Maybe.” another pause. Techno sighed, setting his things down before looking back at his questioning brother.
“But?” The younger looked at the pink-haired male, brown eyes still calculating.
“But, what if it's more than just him being anxious?” Technoblade pursed his lips, looking back to his father then back over to the other teen. “Doesn’t the story dad tells us about our mother's death seem like it's missing stuff? Or is it just me?” Techno narrowed his eyes, slowly nodding.
“You think there's more to this than he’s telling us, don’t you?” Wilbur shyly smiled, nodding quietly. Technobalde thought for a moment. Sure, the story seemed to have a few holes in it, but whatever dad was hiding he probably was for valid reasons. But that doesn’t mean his curiosity wasn’t perked. With a sighed he nodded roughly, slouching forwards slightly as he thought. “He never explained why mom wasn’t with us when we hid, why she was in a completely different room altogether.” Technoblade hummed in agreement.
“Or why everyone who was around that time looks at us pitifully when we mention wanting to know more about the event, almost like they know something we didn’t.” Wilbur slowly nodded. “It’s not our business though, Wilbur.” The hybrid stood, grabbing his sword before sheathing it. “He’ll tell us when he’s ready.” Even with his brother's answer, he still wanted to know. What was their father hiding from them? Before he could ponder on it anymore the sun finally set, the soldiers and his family getting ready for the attack.

Tommy was soundly sleeping, that was until his door was busted open making the other wake up, startled, and falling out of his bed. He looked up, still scared to see an equally scared Tubbo. “Tommy, we have to go.” Still confused Tommy got up, shaking his fuzzed-up wings out, smoothing them back down.
“What are you talking about?” He was very confused, that was until his window was broken by a rock with light on fire clothes tied to it came barreling into his room. “Holy shit!” Jumping away Tubbo grabbed onto his forearm, dragging him out of his room and down the halls. “Hey- What's going on?!” Still not slowing down Tubbo had to try to explain the best he could under these conditions. The halls were on fire, every once in a while they’d pass a room where a battle broke out, but downstairs was worse.
“The Antarctic kingdom is attacking, king Dream instructed me to get you out of here while he tries to fight them off!” Tommy felt shocked, shaking himself out of Tubbo’s grip and ready to track his brother down. “Hey! What do you think you're doing?” Tommy looked back at him with fiery eyes.
“I’m going to help my brother!” Tobbu felt himself pale.
“What?- No! You're only fourteen! I have to get you to the safe place!” Tommy’s wings flared in anger.
“NO! I’m going to help my brother!” The knight was ready to argue again but a figure behind the young prince made him pale even more. Grabbing onto his friend once again he pulled him behind himself, letting the figure grab him instead. Tommy looked behind himself ready to start another yelling match, but stopped once he saw the scene before him. A netherite blade was pressed to his best friend's throat, the soldier looking utterly terrified. The man holding the sword looked down at the other calmly, the hybrid pig staring at him with confused eyes, even if he was trying to hide it. Snapping out of his trance Tommy started yelling at the new person, wings spread out to make himself look bigger. The wings seemed to surprise the other, his blue eyes widening at the sight. “Let my friend go!” His demand was ignored, the sword being pressed against the other's neck even further. Tubbo whimpered in fear, squeezing his eyes shut.
“You said brother, were you referring to king Dream?” There was a calculating glint in his eyes, a glint that made Tommy uneasy. Even with the avian feeling scared, he tried to act tough. He raised his chin, eyes burrowing into the enemy's own.
“Yes, he’s my brother, brute.” The pig seemed to not like the nickname, pressing the sword even closer to the goat's neck, now drawing blood.
“You're coming with me.” Tommy laughed at that, his blue eyes turning into slits.
“Like hell I am, bitch.” The other growled.
“You are if you value your friend, brother of Dream.” Tommy looked at Tubbo, who now was shaking, tears climbing down his pale face. Tommy’s heart shattered. Tubbo only had two lives left, sacrificing one for Dream during a battle. Tommy’s fists tightened, wings shaking in anger.
“Fine.” The other smirked, letting Tubbo go, jerking him forwards into the avian. Tomy caught him, who now was coughing profusely. “Tubbo!” He held his shaking friend closer, hearing a throat clear in front of him. He looked up with cold eyes, his hold on the other tightening.
“Let’s go, prince.”
