CHAPTER 17
Welp, I'm back already! In all honesty I haven't been able to see my grandma again since everyone is trying to see her before her pass, and I need something to do to get my mind off of the situation... So here we are! I'll keep you all posted on what's going on, if something changes but for now I am back and uploading. I noticed people putting my book in hatious (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) lists...? I probably won't be updating everyday since other not so great things are happening in my life too... But that's all I have to say! Enjoy the chapter!
Wilbur sat in the huge living room, holding Fundy on his lap, a book in hand since he seemed to have nothing better to do but read and entertain his infant son with a story. It was peaceful, something that hasn’t been in the castle lately for the family. Someone from behind the reading brownette quickly ruffled his hair, startling the prince. He looked up to see Niki smiling down, eyes glittering with joy like usual. The sight made the male smile brightly. “Niki!” Niki and Wilbur have been friends since birth, becoming a knight was her dream and Wilbur helped the girl succeed.
Though she grew up here much like he did, when Wilbur left to create his own kingdom she didn’t hesitate to follow, leaving her businesses in the hands of another good friend of theirs, Jack. But since they’ve been here for so long he didn’t know if the pinkette would want to go back to L’manburg. But either way if Niki was happy here and wished to stay, he would happily let her. “What's up?” Niki took a seat on one of the couches, the brownette now noticing the few bags she carried with her. “What’s with the bags?” The pinkette looked down towards the bags too, cheerfully answering her best friend as she set them down.
“They belong to Ranboo and Tubbo! They stayed at me and Jack's hotel so I thought it would be nice to give them back to them.” Niki explained. Wilbur smiled, putting his book down.
“Well it is a nice thought, I think they will appreciate it. They’re on the training grounds if you want to give it to them now.” Niki looked puzzled by Wilbur’s last sentence.
“Why would they be there?”
“Ranboo doesn’t know how to fight I guess. Technoblade had another meltdown hearing that and dragged the poor teen down there, and you know, where that tall bastard goes so does the goat man. And I guess where the goat man goes, Tommy goes because he abandoned our day of board games to join them.” The prince pouted at his last words, looking grumpy and irritated. Wilbur may seem like he’s being selfish about the situation, but Niki understood where the other was coming from. He didn’t even remember his little brother and went fourteen years without any idea a part of the family was missing, though he always had felt like he was missing something but he always brushed it off as his mothers death. Niki laughed at the other though even if she understood these things.
“Only you would be angry about something like that, Wil.” She laughed, though the prince next to her looked as if he was far off in his own world as she spoke. Niki frowned, reaching out as shaking his shoulder slightly. He seemed to come back to reality after that.
“Is something else bothering you?” Wilbur shook his head, leaning back in his seat bringing his son closer to himself. Though the baby’s huge orange eyes staring at the pink haired female. Niki let her worried gaze leave her face as she made eye contact, taking the opportunity to lighten the mood. “Can I hold Fundy?” The brownette smiled at the request and nodded, passing the very awake fox hybrid over to Niki who happily smiled and held his chubby hands out for the other. A comfortable silence fell over them, though as Wilbur started closing his eyes the pinkette holding his babbling kid now spoke again. “You mentioned Techno having meltdowns?” Wilbur hummed, nodding. “What were those about?” Wilbur started laughing as he remembered. He sat up a bit, eyes reopening once again.
“The first one was finding out Ranboo was an orphan, the second was about Quackity living with us for a while, and the last one was about Ranboo not knowing how to even hold a sword.” Wilbur explained amusingly. Though one of the meltdowns stuck with the pinkette.
“Why is he so against orphans again?” The prince shrugged.
“I think it has something to do with his last visit to the orphanage. He was crying when he came home, muttering about ‘evil’ and ‘all of them are evil’, or something close to that.” Wilbur sighed. Though Niki on the other hand was laughing at his explanation.
“He’s really that scared of orphans?” The prince nodded, smirking and chuckling himself remembering the scene. “That's funny.”
“Are you going to go down and give Ranboo and Tubbo their things?” Niki shook her head no, bouncing the hyper infant hybrid on her knee, smiling as Fundy squealed in excitement reaching up towards the other, still smiling happily.
“I think I’ll stay up here and hang out with you guys. It’s been a while since we’ve been able to anyways. I’ll give it to them before I leave though.” Wilbur nodded in understanding. “I wonder how training is going for that Ranboo kid though.” She muttered, the prince next to her chuckling.
“Probably getting his ass handed to him by Technoblade.”

Ranboo fell to the ground again, the sword that was once in his hand being pushed away from him by the prince above him. “I can’t believe you're fifteen and have no idea how to handle a sword.” Technoblade groaned. Tubbo and Tommy that were on the sidelines watched quietly, though the goat hybrid was ready to intervene at any moment. Ranboo already had a huge bloody slice on his face, along with a few other similar wounds on his body. They weren't fatal but it still worried Tubo. “Tommy, you know how to fight right?” Techno yelled out, his piercing blue eyes looking over towards the youngest sibling. The fourteen year old nodded timidly when the teen he barely knew looked over with disbelieving eyes. “Good.” Ranboo growled, standing up off of the ground once he turned to face the pig hybrid. He grabbed his sword, getting back in the stance the pinkette had shown him before.
“Let’s go again.” The adult before him looked unimpressed but before they could begin though Philza came out, a messenger bird that looked to be from the Egg kingdom perched on his arm. He looked concerned, looking at the four before him with a beckoning look. His eldest looked at the other worried, Tommy and Tubbo quickly standing up to come over to the king.
“Dad? What's going on?” Techno asked, already sheathing his sword to Ranboo’s dislike. Tubbo on the other hand was thankful the hybrid did, letting a held in breath leave his lungs.
“Well, I just got word that the Egg kings are coming here, and found some disturbing news about... Dream.” Tommy shifted at the mention of the green hooded male. “They’re bringing a whole army with them, that's another worrisome thing. But they won't tell me why, just saying they weren't coming to attack, and that they would explain further when they got here.” The other four looked confused.
“Can I see the letter?” The eldest prince asked, nearing his father with one of his hands out expecting the letter to be placed in his palm. Philza nodded, fishing it out of his pocket before handing it over to the other. He opened it, the other three swarming him to get a look.
King Philza,
When you get this letter, know we are on our way to the Antarctic kingdom territory with an army. But we are not attacking though. We have some new information about Dream, along with a bit more information you may want to know that we will explain when we arrive. I won't write everything down so you will have to wait until we get there for us to explain, since there is a chance this letter will get intercepted by the enemy. Please if you wish to know more on Dream though, look in your library for ‘Red eye cases’, that’s all I’m saying for now.
King Bad
The four were confused, but Techno handed the latter back to his father anyways. “Red eye cases?” Philza nodded, the avain looking nervous as he looked at his youngest, Tommy.
“I want to know too, did you look into it?” Tommy asked, his fists tightening. The blond king nodded, again looking distressed. “Can we know as well?” Philza sighed, shoulders slouching.
“I think it would be best to explain all of this with everyone in one place at once, where is Quackity, Charlie, Sam, and Wilbur?” Philza asked.
“I think quackity, Charlie and Sam are looking around the castle perimeter, and Wilbur I think was going to the living room to just relax with Fundy.” Tubbo answered.
“Then please, let's get those four in the meeting room before I explain what these ‘Red eye cases’ are, ok?” The other four nodded, despursing to find the other two so they could learn about this odd disturbing Philza was talking about. The older avian looked at the bird that still sat on his arm waiting for the signal that he could leave. A high pitched whistle left the king's mouth and instantly the bird hopped off his arm, flying off into the direction the Egg kingdom was.

“Wait what?” Sapnap asked at dinner, confused about what his parents were telling him to do. Karl too looked at the two dumbfounded and pale.
“We want you to go to the Pride kingdom and convince Eret to betray Dream! Maybe we can even use him as a spy since you won't be able to do that anymore.” Skeppy explained. Sapnap still looked concerned, Karl who was next to the blaze hybrid looked scared of the idea of going into enemy territory. Once he, Sapnap, and Quackity along with a few others had visited with Dream on one of their battle strategy meet ups. But that was when he was still part of the Dreamer kingdom, now he was a fugitive, a wanted person to the kingdom. If this plan didn’t work they could be thrown into prison by the pride king and executed within days.
“It’s already too late to back out anyways, we’ve begun preparations for a good portion of our troops to accompany us to the Antarctic kingdom.” Bad explained, stabbing some of the chicken that was on his plate with a fork, making Karl nervously look at the king. He seemed tense. “We’ve sent a messenger bird to king Philza already, though we kept it short since we don’t know if the Dreamer kingdom would have been able to get their hands on it.”
“Well I guess we really have no choice then, huh?” Sapnap mumbled, picking at his own food. Skeppy smiled sadly at his son.
“I know this isn’t exactly ideal, we haven’t seen one another in three years. We have a lot to catch up on, but the faster we take Dream down the sooner peace will rejoin our lands.” The blaze hybrid knew his father was right, though it still brought sadness to him. He nodded in understanding, his determined eyes meeting Skeppy’s blue ones.
“I understand. We’ll leave in the morning like you guys.” Bad smiled happily at his son, reaching over the dining table and patting Sapnap’s hand happily.
“We’ll all see each other sooner than you think, since if you can convince them you’ll be heading to the Antarctic kingdom with king Eret! We’ll be waiting for you, ok?” The diamond hybrid told them, looking over towards Karl. “You know how to fight, right?” Karl nodded, smiling.
“Yeah, Sap and Quackity taught me.” The two kings raised their brows at the mention of Quackity, Karl quickly explaining.
“Quackity, he’s our missing fiance.” Sap grabbed the other hand comfortingly squeezing it.
“I’m sorry to hear that, but you said he’s heading to the Antarctic kingdom right?” Bad asked. Karl nodded, looking back to the two kings. “Well, maybe we can do a search for him, hopefully find him before you guys get there!” The brownette got excited at the idea, Sapnap himself brightening up.
“Thank you, that would be great.” Sap answered.
“Well we want to meet him too you know, so really it's a win-win situation!” Bad chirps happily.
“I guess it is.” The rest of dinner was quiet, and Karl still felt out of place in this scenery.
