The day starts with two cops making rounds in a neighborhood. One of the cops, Daryl, sees a 'missing poster' and talks about the missing girl that disappeared a decade ago. The other cop, Mike, gives more insight into the case and points at the abandoned house where the daughter and her mother used to live.

The Daryl decides to check the house despite the fact that Mike suggests not to. Inside the house is expected of one that looks haunted and abandoned. From the entrance, a chandelier hangs over a hole in the floor can be seen. Beyond it leads to what seems to be a living room. And from the left side is a staircase leading to the next floor. The Daryl leans on the hole and lights it up with his flashlight. The hole seems to be deep since no bottom can be seen. The Mike gives a tug on the shoulder and says that they need to leave and that they themselves are breaking the law of trespassing.

As they head to the door, the door closes. They laugh it off, believing the wind made it close. Mike tries the doorknob and fails to open the door. The Daryl then tries, and the doorknob breaks off. Then, they both begin to hear an old woman calling out for her daughter. Mike does not hesitate to kick the door open. It works. The door swings open, and they both escape.

Soon later, at the precinct, they are both charged with trespassing and property damages, or so a witness has accused. The cops do not refute the accusations. As punishment, they are suspended from duties for a couple of weeks.

During Daryl's break, he meets up with his friend, Anna. She laughs at him for doing something stupid. She then questions his intentions. When told, she gets curious and persuades him into getting a warrant to search for the possible ghost or possibly solving the cold case of the missing daughter. He refuses since he believes the higher-ups will not comply with the reason for the supernatural. So, they agreed to drop the subject only for Anna to take the search by herself.

The day before the end of the suspension, Daryl finds Anna as she attempts to enter the house. He catches her at the entrance of the house. They argue before she runs into the house. Daryl hesitates in fear of ghosts. He calls Mike before going after Anna.

Inside, Anna searches the living room. Nothing seems to be paranormal. It is a simple living room with a sofa pointing towards the TV on the right and a fireplace on the left. Next to the fireplace is another door that leads to the kitchen. Before Anna reaches for the knob, Daryl stops her and tells her to leave. Anna refuses and tells him that he was searching her if they asked. Then, she tells him to search upstairs. He listens as he can not deny his curiosity for the place.

He reaches the second floor. There is a couple of meters of space between him and another set of stairs that seems to lead into the attic. He sets the thought of exploring that are later. So, he explores the second floor, which seems to be a bedroom floor.

He starts with the first door on his left, which is halfway down the hall. He opens the door. The room seems to be for a child. It is decorated with pink, rainbows, and unicorns. He enters it for a deeper inspection. Inside, he sees a fort made of blocks. As he shines his flashlight to it, he sees a pair of eyes and steps back, frightened. He calls out to it. It responds with a child's voice. Curious, Daryl approaches the voice. He shines his flashlight once more and sees a kid inside the fort. The kid beckons him to come in, and so he does. He talks with the child. Soon after, he realizes the child is the missing daughter, which is confirmed when he asks her. Suddenly, she tells him to keep quiet since 'mother is coming.'

They both watch as a woman slowly creep around the room, calling out for her daughter and repeatedly asking, "Who took my daughter?"

Daryl believes the ghost is searching for her daughter, who is playing hide-and-seek and is never found. So, he speaks aloud and tells her the daughter is in the fort. The daughter ghost screams as she flees, and the mother furiously lunges towards Daryl and chokes him as she says, "How dare you kidnap my daughter!"

From the kitchen below, Anna hears the screams. Just as she is about to leave the kitchen, she sees the daughter run through the door, through her, and into a walk-in pantry. Anna decides to check it after checking on Daryl. She makes it in the nick of time. As she distracts the mother, the mother drops Daryl, and he lays on the floor unconscious. The mother chases Anna downstairs, where she sees Mike at the entrance. She tells him to go upstairs as she runs.

Quickly, he dashes upstairs and searches for Daryl and drags him out.

Anna gets cornered. The mother does the same to her as she did to Daryl. Mike runs to them after placing Daryl on the porch. He tells the mother he knows where her daughter is. This draws her attention, and she begins to chase him.

Anna, instead of leaving the house, enters the pantry, searching for the girl. She opens a cabinet door, revealing an old wooden dumbwaiter. She peeks inside and sees a hollow passage. She climbs into and passes the dumbwaiter into the passage. As she lights the path, she sees a girl. At first, she is frightened, and then she simply approaches the girl as the girl leads her somewhere. At their destination, there lay a pile of children corpses.
