~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"When will this train ride be over," I thought anxiously, trembling when I felt a firm squeeze on my butt.
I kept my eyes towards at the doors, as I was unfortunate enough to have missed at the available seats. I tried my best to ignore the annoyance behind me, who seemed to be having a ball teasing me. "Do you like when I do that to you, (F/n)-chan? Do you like when I grab you like this?" Ren, one of my classmates, whispered into my ear. I tried to pry his hand off of my butt but he was undeniably stronger than me. I whimpered when he tightened his grip. "Precious dove, c'mon. Any girl would like this."
"Ren-kun, stop it. I-I'm not just any girl," I squeaked out in my quiet voice.
Ren was a new student in my second-year class. Because of his good looks and athleticism, he instantly gained popularity at Iwatobi High. I didn't dare to try to get involved with him the first couple months he had been there. He is a horrible person, so cocky and conceited, like he saw himself as the deserving prince worthy of the attention of naive peasants. Unfortunately, I was the only peasant he bothers to give attention to... One who couldn't care less of his presence.
"You're just playing hard to get," he murmured as he leaned more onto me. His hands began to wander even further as he trailed his fingers on the exposed skin just below the hem of my skirt. I tried to shuffle away from him but being in a crowded train didn't help my situation. I closed my eyes tightly, hoping to God that this train would make it to my stop faster and this could be over.
"HEY!" All of a sudden, Ren had been pulled away from me. I nervously craned my head to look at what was going on and saw a tall, muscular guy clad in black holding Ren up by his fists. My (e/c) orbs widened at the big commotion, causing everyone on the train to look in our direction. "WHAT'S THE BIG FUCKING IDEA?"
"You should respect the girl, asshole," my savior growled at him. The male's aqua eyes emitted pure anger and hatred that even I felt the terror Ren must be feeling. "If she doesn't want it, then don't do it, you fucking low life."
"Oi! Do you not know who I am?! I'm Iwatobi's star-OOF!" Ren was suddenly thrown onto the train floor with a loud thud, fortunately missing the other passengers surrounding us.
"Shut up, I don't care who the hell you are. Touch this girl in any wrong way again, and I'll do something about it." At perfect timing, my stop had finally come and within the rush of people moving in and out, the dark-haired male lead me out of the train, leaving a dazed Ren inside. Once the train doors had closed and moved on to go to the next station, we knew we were safe. He asked me in a much gentler voice, "Hey, are you ok?"
I felt my cheeks flush when I realized how unbelievably attractive this guy was. Once noticing how long I have been staring at him, I shifted my gaze away and replied, "Y-Yes, th-thank you so much for your help..."
"Has that guy always been harassing you?" He questioned me seriously. I was at a loss for words. Of course, it was true, but admitting it out loud was something else. "Has he done that to you at your school?"
"N-No, it's always after school... So he doesn't get in trouble for it," I murmured out.
"Why don't you go to security about it? That's definitely something to alert them about," he continued to tell me.
I hung my head in shame, letting the guilt overcome my whole body. "Th-They would never believe me... It's not like they would do much about it. Ren is so rich that he'd probably be able to get away with it..." A silence wavered over the two of us. I sheepishly glanced up at him and saw he had a pained expression on his face as he tried rolling out his right shoulder. "A-Ano, are you ok? Did you hurt your shoulder?" I squeaked out.
His intense yet mesmerizing gaze met my eyes. "Erm, I'm fine. I guess I just twisted it the wrong way when I threw that asshole down," he grumbled out. I couldn't help but grin warmly. This guy never met me before in his life but he had made the effort to stop Ren's dirty act. He was the first to ever do so and I couldn't feel any more grateful.
"I-I'm sorry." I glanced down at my phone and saw that I was running a little bit late to my job. "Oh no, I-I need to go... But I would like to repay you for what you have done for me."
He looked surprised by my proposition. "No, it's ok, you don't have to..."
"I insist. A-Are there any sweets you like? I would l-love to bake for you as thanks!" I asked him persistently. "It's the least I could do!"
"I, um, I'm not sure. I would eat anything, to be honest," he answered with a soft smile.
"Oh ok, cool. I'll bake you something really great, I promise-EEP!" I fumbled with my vibrating phone in my hands and hurried to answer the call with panic surging through my veins. "H-H-Hello?... I'm so sorry! I-I got caught up with s-something." My boss asked me in a panic where I was. I could understand her worry, since I was always one to come in a couple minutes early for work. Today will be my first time to be late. "I-I'm almost there. I'm so sorry! It won't happen again, I-I promise." I picked up my head to look at my savior once again. "I-I'll see you later ok? I'm very late!" I burst out into a run, my bag smacking against my side and my phone still firm in my hand as I reassured my boss that I was coming to the building right now.
Five minutes later, I finally made it to the bakery, heavily panting and sticky with trickling sweat. "(F/n)-san, there you are!" The woman who owned the bakery, Yama, chimed once seeing my breathless state. "I'm surprised."
I rushed forward and bowed before the owner of the bakery. "I'm so sorry again. S-Something happened on my way here."
"I'm not mad at you, (F/n)-san. I was worried, but at least you're here now. Please get right into work, ok?" Yama told me before entering the kitchen again.
I nodded and let myself take a breather. The sweet aroma calmed down my whole being. I went to the back to change into my uniform and checked in. I entered the kitchen.
I stopped dead in my tracks in front of the sink.
"Baka! How could I give him those sweets?!" I whined out once realizing my stupid mistake.
Yama, who had been busy making dough, shot me a confused glance at my outburst. "What happened?"
"There was this guy who helped me today and I was going to repay him by baking him something... I don't even know his name!" I tugged at my (h/c) hair out of frustration. "I didn't get any contact from him or anything. How am I supposed to repay him?"
The short woman pursed her lips. She turned back to the counter and continued kneading the dough with her hands. "There's not much you can do. Just hope you'll see him again one day."
I gripped my hands onto the hem of my apron, wrinkling and bunching it up anxiously as I thought about possible scenarios. My face burned at the possibility of seeing him again. "I-I don't know if I'd be able to talk to him."
"And why not? You want to repay him, don't you?" Yama replied, giving me a quick glance. A small, amused grin tugged on my boss's lips. "Aww, was he attractive?"
I stiffened. "I... I, err, well..."
"He was! Just by the look of your face, he must've been really hot," she giggled. "You need to be more assertive, (F/n)-san! You should've nabbed his number."
I turned my attention away from Yama to wash my hands. Sadly, for the rest of my time at work, thoughts of the mystery man and how I never gotten his name ran through my mind.
~*~
A couple days have passed and my encounter back at the train station had been almost forgotten... almost. Even though Ren hasn't tagged along with me to the train the past few days, but he still trailed after me during school. I was able to tolerate his annoying existence but I knew I'd be more in peace if he could disappear for once... That would be the day.
"(F/n)-chan, pay attention to me~" Ren cooed from behind me, even though we were still in class. I kept my head down and wrote down everything our teacher told us, hoping that taking notes would block out the nuisance. "(F/n)-chaaan."
"Excuse me, is there something you want to say to the whole class, (F/n)-kun, Ren-kun?" Our teacher suddenly boomed out madly. I froze in my seat, not expecting the older man to actually be mad at me. I trembled in mortification, not knowing exactly what to say. What can I say? Would he believe me?
"Not at all, sir!" Ren piped up way too casually. "(F/n) just wanted to ask me about today's lesson, she had some trouble understanding bits and pieces of it." The blood rushed out from my face at Ren's lie. I wanted to so desperately tell our teacher that was not the case, but the words were caught in the back of my throat. "We're terribly sorry for interrupting class."
"Oh, um, sure. It's fine, Ren-kun." Riiiing! "Oh, end of class. Don't forget to do your homework, everyone."
I can't believe it.
"(F/n)-chan, where is my thank you?" A low groan left my lips as I hurried to pack up my belongings. Before I could get out of my desk, Ren was already in my way, preventing me to leave. He hovered over me, one hand flat on top of the desk and the other at the back of my chair, caging me in with his body. His sapphire eyes twinkled mischievously as smug smirk spread onto his face.
"You don't n-need a thank you," I mumbled out, my head turned away to avoid his intense gaze. When he leaned in even closer, I felt my cheeks flare up at the proximity. "Ren-kun, please move. I need to leave!" He can't do anything to me. We're still on school grounds...
"How about just a kiss as your thank you? I'll happily accept it," he said in his usually, deep voice. "I'll even take just a cheek kiss. That's not too bad, right?"
"I'm n-not giving you a kiss," I denied. With one hand on his shoulder, I firmly pushed him away. He didn't put in too much effort to stay in place, so I was free for now. I scurried out of the classroom, but judging by the footsteps heard close behind me, he was just falling into step behind me. "Ren-kun, leave m-me alone. There are p-plenty of other girls that wants your attention."
"But, my precious dove, you're the one I want."
I quickened my pace out of the school and down the steps, but I could tell he still trailed after me. He hasn't been this persistent before. Is he really going to start following me into the train again?! I halt into a stop, when I spot a familiar black jacket in the midst of people. I blinked in shock as I gawked at the guy. He's here?
"Oh, you're finally waiting for me?" Ren chimed, now by my side. "Is it finally the day you'll give yourself to me?"
Without a word, I burst out into a jog, leaving a bewildered Ren behind me. I reached my savior from days before, giving him a questioning look. "There you are," the boy in black murmured as his aqua eyes landed on me. His gaze shifted upwards and his expression cracked into pure hatred. "Is that asshole still messing with you?" I haven't realized it, but I had one hand gripped onto his sleeve, urging him to walk with me out of the gates of school. My actions were enough to give him his answer. "C'mon." He wrapped one arm around my shoulder, making me feel secure, and led me out.
On our way to the train station, it seems like Ren didn't follow us. "Thank goodness," I sighed to myself after taking a glance behind us for the blond fiend. Much to my delight, he was nowhere to be found. I glimpsed up at the male, eternally grateful that he had saved me again. I then remembered what he had first told me when he first spotted me. "W-Were you looking for me?" I asked him. "How did you know I went here?"
"The asshole mentioned he went to Iwatobi High, so I figured..." His cheeks were tinted with pink. I gently smiled, thinking how cute he looked while blushing. He may be a broad guy, but sure has his moments. "I was... worried that the guy was still bothering you. Looks like he was."
"Thank you for saving me again. The guy just never stops," I replied.
"It's no problem... plus, I was offered free sweets. How could I pass that up?"
"Oh!" I burst as he had mentioned that. "That's right. I can't believe I just left you behind without any means of contacting you. That was so stupid of me. I don't even know your name!"
"It's Yamazaki Sousuke."
I beamed. So, that is my savior's name... "I-I'm (L/n) (F/n). I'm glad to finally know your name, Yamazaki-kun."
"You can go ahead and call me by my first name."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Oh ok. You can do the same for me then, Sousuke-kun." He nodded as we continued to walk along together. I looked at him, really taking in his features. His raven locks were short and tousled and his aqua eyes reminded me of the ocean. He was significantly taller than me and he had an amazing build. I then took notice of his jacket, which were adorned with black, red, and white fabric, along with a golden symbol on the left side of his chest. Man, I'm sure am lucky to have met a guy like him in time of need... twice!
"Oh! Can we please go ahead and exchange phone numbers?" I asked him as we finally made it to the train station and entered our rightful train. We went ahead and took two free seats nearby the door.
"A little forward, aren't we?" he commented all of a sudden.
My heart leapt as my cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "Th-That's not what I meant! I-I just want to be able to call you when I make your s-sweets."
"I was kidding, I know."
I quickly picked out my phone from my bag, unlocked it, and handed it over to him. "Please go ahead and put in your phone number in. I'll text you so you can have my number." He nodded and started typing in his number. I glanced out the windows at the rapid scenery as he did so. He nudged the phone back into my hand. I looked at Sousuke's number on the brightly lit screen. Once seeing his chosen name, I whipped my head up at him. "P-Prince Charming?!"
He looked amused at my reaction and his lips tugged into a small smile. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself. You could change it if you want," he chortled.
Gazing down at the name, I couldn't bring myself to edit it. Instead, I quickly sent him a text with a short greeting, so he could also have my number. Why should I change it? It's a little funny, and I could see Sousuke as my Prince Charming, who always comes to my rescue. Wow, even if I was just thinking it,that was embarrassing.
Sousuke and I enjoyed our train ride together, casually talking about ourselves to pass the time. I learned that he was a third-year at the all-boys school, Samezuka Academy. He had transferred on his last year to join his best friend on the swim team. It was an heartwarming story, and listening to it made me feel closer to the dark haired bara.
Then, I noticed him rolling out the same exact shoulder he had hurt from when I first met him. "D-Does your shoulder still hurt?"
He froze at mid-roll and took his hand away from his right shoulder. "No, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about it."
I pursed my lips at him, not truly believing his words. But, who was I to question a guy I barely know? "O-Ok, if you say so." Once it came to my stop, I stood up from my seat, ready to get going to the bakery. "If it's ok with you, once I finish the sweets, I'll call you so we can meet up? Maybe after my work or some time tomorrow?"
"Yeah, it's ok. Also, lemme know if that guy keeps bothering you ok? If you want, I'll pick you up and we can walk to the train station together," he replied.
He's so sweet. "Ok, thank you. I'll see you around, Sousuke-kun." And with that, I left him behind in the train. My heart fluttered in my chest just thinking about our next meeting. Yes, I'll bake the best treat for him! Maybe I'll have to make two things since he helped me twice? I skipped to the bakery, lost in thought.
~*~
Weeks passed since that day and Sousuke and I bonded more than I would ever expect. After our times I've meeting up to give him my desserts, we were able to hang out at other times just because we could. Being around the Samezuka swimmer or even the thought of being around him puts me in ease. Almost instantaneously, I had become more open and relaxed just in his company, pushing away my usual shyness. There's just something about Sousuke that is so endearing. No wonder why I have developed a crush on my supposed Prince Charming.
There would be days when Ren would leave me alone entirely and carry on with his annoyingness with another girl, one who appreciated it more than I did, and sadly, there will be other days when he would attempt to mess with me again. Whenever those days come, I would text Sousuke about it and by the time school ends, he would already be at the gates of Iwatobi High.
Some days, I would worry about if I was causing him trouble. I knew he was skipping swim practice. When I had asked him about it, he would just bare a soft smile and tell me not to worry about it. How could I argue against his consideration and kindness? Did Sousuke have to be so nice to me? It even has come to a point where I fear that I'm beginning to feel like a burden to him, always calling him to come to my rescue... or whenever I'm bored.
"(F/n)-san." I averted my (e/c) eyes from my notebook to the group of girls that have crowded around my desk. It was lunch time, so it wasn't a surprise that girls from another classroom (and year) were in this classroom. There were three of them, two second-years and one third-year. "Can we ask you something?" the short-haired girl, Akiko, quipped, her hand rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.
"What is it?"
"Ano, who was that guy you keep meeting up with after school?" The tallest of the bunch, Hikari, questioned for all of them. I see Akiko, and the other girl, Akimi, nod their heads enthusiastically. "Is he a friend of yours?"
"H-Hai, he is," I murmured out in reply. All three of them exchanged gleeful glances to one another. "Why d-do you ask?"
"He's really hot!" Akimi sighed. "Is he just your friend?" I was at a loss for words. I want Sousuke and me to be more than friends, but the thought of confessing to him brings me to a flustering mess. We are just friends. "You should introduce us to him some time!"
"I-I don't know about that," I rapidly stated with a frown. "He's not really that social around others."
"Aww, c'mon, (F/n)-san! Please," all three of them pleaded. "You can't possibly keep all the cute guys to yourself. Don't be so selfish!"
"Selfish?" I squeaked out.
"Yeah! First, you have Ren-kun wrapped around your little finger, and now you're running off with some other guy from a different school? What next? You're going to start flirting with the whole boys' volleyball team?" I sat there shocked at the sudden accusation the three girls shot at me. I wanted to tell them the whole deal with Ren wasn't my fault, but the words wouldn't come out. "Seriously, all the nice things Ren-kun have done to you and you couldn't give him the time of day? Stop stringing him along."
"B-But, he has been hanging out with other girls l-lately," I muttered nervously.
"Yeah, but it's obvious that he still has feelings for you," Hikari growled with an unexpectedly serious tone. "You should stop making him feel so miserable, (F/n)."
"O-Oi, Hikari-senpai, that's a bit harsh," Akimi interjected.
"No, no. We were all thinking it, weren't we?" the tall girl shot back at her. Her cold stare returned back onto me. "Who would've thought that little, quiet (F/n) would be such a-"
"Hikari-senpai!" Akiko burst in. The two younger girls took hold of her arms and began dragging her out of the classroom. "S-Sorry, (F/n)-san, this isn't what we planned to-"
"C'mon, girls. I know you think so too. (F/n) uses an innocent act to attract guys." She was finally lead out of the classroom, but it didn't avert anyone's focus on me. I shrank into my desk, putting my head down on the desk to avoid their judging gazes. Does everyone seriously think of me as that? I'm just naturally shy, I can't help it.
The last thing I wanted to do was make anyone miserable. Maybe I should talk to Ren later... and apologize and set everything straight once and for all.
~*~
"Ren-kun." The bell finally rang to let us out of school. Ren had already exited the classroom before I could pack up my belongings, and so I had to rush to catch up to him. "Ren-kun!" He was already flocked by his followers, all of whom were glaring over at me. I froze and stopped in my tracks under the deathly stares.
"Oh, my precious dove," Ren muttered in surprise at the sight of me. "Excuse us, ladies." The fangirls wailed in sadness but they obeyed their precious prince. Ren and I exited the school together without any interruptions. "What might my (F/n)-chan want to talk to me about?"
I cringed at his question but I decided to continue on with my plan. "Ren-kun, I-I'm sorry for any problems I may have caused you lately." I picked my head up to look ahead of me, and instantly, my heart fallen into the pit of my stomach.
Sousuke...
He was chatting with Hikari, Akiko, and Akimi freely.
Haha, maybe I am a little selfish.
"Are you jealous, my dear dove?" I glimpsed up at Ren and saw a mischievous glint in his eyes. I distinctively took a step away from him but he had already wrapped an arm around my waist. "Ditch the knucklehead." I tried my best to wriggle my way out of his grasp but he only tightened his arm around me. "C'mon, that's the real reason why you came to me, right? Because you finally caved to my charm?"
"N-N-No!" I squeaked out. "I take it back! Let me go Ren-kun. We're still on school grounds!"
"Oh ho ho, want to go somewhere else more private then?" he murmured. With his strength, he picked me up with only just arm. "Hmm?" Ren and I turned our attention to our side and noticed Sousuke storming over to us, a dark aura emitting from him. "Done flirting with some lovely ladies?"
"Didn't I tell you already tell you that if you touch her in any wrong way again, I will do something about it?"
Ren had let me go, so he could full on face Sousuke. "I'm not afraid of you!"
"You should be." Sousuke grabbed onto his collar with both hands and held him up, just as he did when he first saved me. But, a look of horror didn't cross Ren's face, in fact he was smirking. What Ren did next was not something I would've seen coming. He punched Sousuke into his right shoulder. I gasped when Sousuke had a look of agonizing pain cross his face as he dropped Ren. "ARGH."
"Aha, so my homework has paid off, you do have abusted shoulder," Ren chuckled darkly. Sousuke's aqua eyes widened as his hand clenched tightly on that very shoulder. Ren took this moment to punch Sousuke in the stomach.
"Leave him alone!" I shrieked. I ran forward and jumped onto Ren's back to prevent him from hurting Sousuke anymore.
"Get off me!" I was then roughly flung off. I crashed onto the ground with a thud. A small moan of pain left my lips as I felt a sharp sting to my ankle. I watched in terror as Ren started beating the crap out of Sousuke. "How fucking dare you mess with me! You should've just minded your own business!" I tried my best to stand up but a pain shot through my ankle. "No one opposes me, alright?!" While Sousuke was down, Ren had his foot firmly on his right shoulder, causing even more pain than necessary.
"C'mon, Ren, leave him alone!" I shouted at him.
"REN." Around us, I finally realize the crowd that had gathered to watch the fight. I mentally face-palmed, as I see a couple of them with their phones out to record the drama. But as some parted, an adult finally came forward, seething with rage. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? YOU ARE COMING WITH ME." The older man grabbed Ren by the arm, who now looked pale. Looks like he finally sees the possible consequences over this situation. "Someone please help these two to the nurse's office, fast!"
I quickly crawl over to Sousuke. He was still clutching onto his shoulder and he was trying his best to suppress showing the pain on his face. "C'mon, Sousuke. Let's go to the nurse."
"That asshole sprained your ankle," he snarled out. Even when he's in obvious pain... he's only thinking about my injury.
I ran my fingers through his tousled hair. "It's ok, Sousuke-kun. Let's get our injuries treated, ok?" To my side, I see Akiko, Hikari, and Akimi offering to help the two of us up. We thankfully take their outstretched hands and use them to wobble our way towards the nurse's office. On our way there, the three girls have apologized to me. "It's ok."
My walk to the nurse's office was unbearably slow because of my ankle, but Akiko had been very supportive, keeping a secure arm around my torso. Hikari, Akimi, and Sousuke were already far ahead. When the Samezuka boy wanted to stop to wait, I assured him that he should just go straight inside the office and that I would be there shortly. "You know, (F/n)-san..." I glimpsed over at the girl who helped me. "I notice that you're a lot more open with him around."
"You mean, S-Sousuke-kun?"
"Yes. You don't stutter around him and you're not as shy. You must really like him." My cheeks flared a deep crimson at her comment, in which she didn't fail to notice judging by her giggle. "I'm happy for you, (F/n)-san, to have found someone that can see more of the real you."
"Th-Thank you, Akiko. That means a lot," I murmured with a small smile. Finally, the two of us make it to the nurse's office and I take a seat in the bed just across from Sousuke. The girls bid their goodbyes and left, leaving the two of us alone to wait for the school nurse. "I'm sorry for what happened."
"Hmm?" Sousuke replied, shooting me a look of confusion.
"You're hurt. Your shoulder... And don't tell me your fine and not to worry. I knew there was something wrong with your shoulder since day one," I grumbled, remembering back on the memory.
"Well, that asshole had to be an asshole again. It was worth it." I glared at him for always dismissing his shoulder issue in the past. Once meeting my gaze, he sighed solemnly. "I'm sorry. I never like talking about it. Regionals are coming up and I would prefer for it to be kept a secret."
"How can you expect to swim with a shoulder like that, Sousuke-kun?" I frowned even more.
"I have to." Sousuke then went into the whole bit that it was his dream to swim with his best friend once again, even when he knew that continuing to swim might lead his shoulder to break down permanently. I made sure to grasp onto every word, slowly understanding what he is feeling. "It just so happens on the day we met, I was on my way to the hospital for a check up on my shoulder."
"Oh really?" I let out a little irritated huff. "You know, you didn't have to use so much force on your right shoulder when you shoved Ren down in that train..."
"You scolding me?" he replied with amusement in his tone. "I see you're a lot less shy than when I first met you."
"I just got used to you," I scoffed.
A smile broke onto his face. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of it. "Good." Oh my god, my heart is about to explode if he keeps looking at me like that. "Besides, how could I be Prince Charming if I hadn't taught that jerk a thing or two?"
"Do your friends know how much of a cheeseball you are?"
"No..."
"If I ever meet your best friend, I'm going to tell him how cheesy you are."
"(F/n)... C'mon, don't kid around like that."
"I'm not kidding! Maybe I'll meet him when I come watch Regionals."
A flash of surprise crossed his handsome features. "You're going to come watch?"
"Yeah! Why wouldn't I? Do you not want my support?" I teased.
"Of course I do," he mumbled out. His hand reached to the back of his neck, rubbing it in a nervous manner. "Say, (F/n), do you want to do something once Regionals are over? We'll be having a break from swim practice."
I cocked my head slightly. "But, don't you usually skip practice anyway?"
He pursed his lips. "Those are usually to go to my check-ups..."
"And the days we hang out?"
"I wanted to hang out. So what? But, now I won't any of the consequences of skipping practice... God dang it, (F/n), I'm trying to ask you out."
"Heh?! Why?"
"What other reason would I ask you out? I like you." That did it. The room suddenly felt like it was burning, and I had to cover my face to hide my crimson tainted cheeks. Oh my god, why? "O-Oi." I peeked through my fingers to look at him. His cheeks were also flushed as he stared at me. "Can you please just reject me already or something? My heart is about to burst."
So cute. "R-Reject you? I would never do that," I stammered out in a fluster. "You're my Prince Charming after all."
"Aha, so you do see me as your Prince Charming."
"Don't push it."
Hey, Sousuke-kun! Just wanted to let you know that I made it to the stadium and I'll be in the stands cheering you on <3 Don't hurt yourself too much, ok? Or I will personally jump out of the bleachers and save you like any good girlfriend would (ง •̀_•́)ง
Sousuke Yamazaki could only smirk down at the text message he received from the (h/c) haired beauty. Who knew he'd be smitten with a girl he saved from that fateful day so quickly? Oh right, he knew he was smitten the moment they made eye contact.
He quickly replied back to the message:
To: Princess
I thought only I did the saving? I'm your Prince Charming, aren't I?
"Hey, is that the girl you have told me before, Sousuke?" Rin asked his best friend with a pleased smile plastered on his face. "Judging by that mushy look on your face, it is! When do I get to meet the blind girl?" This earned a nudge into the arm from the dark haired third year for the subtle yet noticeable insult. The Samezuka swim captain laughed wholeheartedly at the male next to him, who looked uncharacteristically embarrassed and ruffled. "I'll be able to meet her today, right?"
"I guess so," Sousuke huffed out.
I can totally be Princess Charming, just you wait! Anyway, will I be able to meet up with you before your relay race? Like now? I want to tell you personally good luck! :)
"Ooh, yeah! Let's go meet your girlfriend right now!" Rin burst out enthusiastically. "Tell Princess to come out into the hallway nearby Entrance B!" Without Sousuke's permission, he had already grabbed onto his phone and quickly told the girl their location.
"Rin," Sousuke shot at the magenta haired boy accusingly. Rin just bared him a (shark) toothy grin.
In just mere minutes, a familiar girl was strolling over to the two Samezuka boys. What Sousuke didn't expect to happen next, was his best friend and girlfriend to recognize each other. "Eh? (F/n)?" Rin gaped as his eyes were glued on the (e/c) orbed girl. "You're Sousuke's girlfriend?"
"R-Rin-kun?" (F/n) gasped once she made it to them. "I thought you were in Australia!"
"I came back here just last year! How have you been?"
Sousuke glanced back and forth between the two, confusion bubbling more and more within him. "How the hell do you two know each other?"
"Sousuke, (F/n) was at Iwatobi Elementary. She's Haru's cousin!" Rin answered him. The taller male froze once hearing the Iwatobi swimmer's name. "Don't tell me you never knew?"
"I never knew!"
"I never mentioned my cousin was in the swim team in my school?" (F/n) murmured.
"No."
"Huh... whoops, my bad. I thought I have."
"No..."
Rin stifled his laughter at the situation in hand. "That's rich!" he couldn't help but chuckle out. "And I'm guessing you never told Haru about Sousuke?"
"Hmm? Why would I tell Haru about that?" (F/n) uttered. "He keeps his business to himself and I keep mine to myself."
"I think this is something Haru should know. Can I tell him?" Rin chirped, a playful glimmer in his crimson eyes as he took out his cell phone. "I'm gonna tell him!"
"Rin, don't you dare!" Sousuke warned him. Before they knew it, it turned to a full on chase, the couple running after the red-haired swimmer. "RIN!"
"Um, why are we running after Rin-kun?" (F/n) puffed out as she tried to keep in step with her boyfriend, but it's proving to be hard because of his long legs.
"Erm, long story..."
