"Hello and welcome to the maid café from hell-Oh no, you."

I grinned cheekily at the magenta haired male in front of me. I knew it was an amazing idea to visit. "My, my, Rin-chan! That isn't how you should treat customers, should it?" I quipped in a teasing tone. I glanced over to the side and noticed Momo sulking next to him. Once realizing it was me, the first year's face flushed. "Wah! Momo-chan, you look so nice."

"ACK! (F/n)-san, please look away!" Momo squeaked out, turning his head away from me in embarrassment. "Gou-san isn't here, is she?"

"No, I came alone actually."

"Oh? Where's my sister?" Rin asked me curiously.

"Ah, erm, she had another event she wanted to check out first." I thought back to when Gou and I had come to Samezuka Academy for the festival. We were supposed to spend the whole time together but, alas, something had caught her eye just as I suggested we check out the swim team's activity. Gou sure does have an unhealthy obsession over muscles. So, I had left her behind as I came to this room. Of course, I had another reason why I wanted to come here. "Oi, where's Sou-chan? Is he wearing a maid's outfit?"

"First and second years have to wear maid outfits. The third years get to wear butler outfits!" Momo cried out in exasperation. "It's not fair!"

"Oh, so that's why!" I piped up. I took out my phone and began to look through my photos. "Rin-chan, I still have a picture of you in-" In a blink of an eye, my phone was snatched from my very hands. "Rin-chan!" I lurched after him to get my phone back. With one arm to prevent me from getting my phone and another high above us as he deleted the very picture of Rin in a maid outfit last year. Once the deed was done, the shark toothed boy returned my phone. "So mean!"

"I told you to delete that a long time ago!" Rin flared up with a dark aura emitting from him. "You didn't show that to the guys, did you?!"

"I didn't!" I snapped back at him. I pouted at the loss of the heavenly picture in my phone. "Well, no matter. I already have it saved in my laptop..."

"WHAT?"

"Just take me to Sou-chan, baka," I huffed out. "And I pinky promise not to show the boys the picture."

"You're just going to blackmail me with it!" Rin growled at me.

I stuck out my tongue out at him. "If you don't, then I'll change my promise and will show them the picture!" Rin glared down at me but I stood my ground. I'll admit, last year when first meeting Rin, I was terrified of him. But now that we're both pretty good friends, I was no longer intimidated by him.

"People not in the Samezuka swim team is allowed in the back," he finally replied with a sigh of defeat.

"Eh? He's not serving?" I asked. Dang, I was hoping he was going to serve me... "What is he doing?"

"He's cooking the food, mainly the omurice."

I pursed my lips. "Well, you're the captain, you can let me go there, right?" I leaned close to him and gave him my best puppy dog eyes. "Please, Rin-chan! I want to see Sou-chan, too." I could see his eyes twitching at my cutesy act. I knew he was breaking inside.

"You're so annoying." He glanced around at the room and ushered me to follow him. I grinned triumphantly and trailed behind him after saying my goodbyes to poor Momotarou. We reached to a curtained area at the back of the room and Rin opened it. Behind it, I spot a few of the Samezuka swimmers preparing simple dishes and drinks for customers. "Oi, Sousuke. I have an irritating customer wanting to see you."

Upon hearing his name, the dark haired male craned his head to our direction. His aqua green eyes land on me and a smile appeared on his handsome face. "Oh hey, (F/n)."

"Ugh, I'm going to head back out," Rin piped up, catching both of our attentions. His magenta eyes blaze over at me. "Don't cause any trouble, ok?" I gave the Samezuka captain a nod of agreement before he disappeared to return to his job.

I skipped over to Sousuke and eyed the dish he was cooking, the delicious aroma wavering in the air. "Wow, I didn't know you can cook!"

"Yeah, I can. Here." He picked up his spoon with the omurice on it. "Taste test it for me. This is a new batch." Hesitantly, I opened my mouth and let him feed me. I let myself savor the flavor before gulping it down. "How was it?"

I beamed up at the bara. "It's perfect, Sou-chan!"

"Oi, what did I tell you about calling me Sou-chan," he suddenly frowned at me as he continued his work.

"Aw, c'mon! I call a lot of people by -chan. You shouldn't be any different," I replied with a click of my tongue. I took in his appearance as he cooked. Man, he looks good in that outfit. "People I consider very close to me, I give them a nickname!"

His aqua eyes met my (e/c) eyes in an intense gaze. "We only met this year, (F/n)."

I felt my cheeks warm up at this fact. "What's your point?" It's not like I could tell him I developed a crush on him. "It's too bad that you transferred to Samezuka this year, Sou-chan. I would have loved to see you in a maid costume. Rin totally rocked it. I had a picture of it saved in my phone but Rin deleted it just before I came here."

"Thank god I didn't," he chuckled lowly. "So you don't have the picture anymore?"

"I was able to save it into my computer."

"Send it to me some time?"

"Of course!"

For a good few minutes, Sousuke and I talked about anything that came into our minds; our favorite television shows, how our school life has been, our future plans after graduation. There's just something about Sousuke I've always adored. Whether it'd be his determination when it comes to swimming even after his shoulder injury, his compassion for his best friend, or the kindness he sometimes show; I knew I had it bad for him. His looks and personality was just absolutely perfect to me... And he cooks! That's another plus.

I'm just glad he hadn't put me off as quickly as he did with my Iwatobi boys.

Suddenly, Sousuke and I heard familiar voices coming from the opposite side of the curtain. The ebony haired boy tensed as he sautéed the food. "Sounds like they're here," he grumbled out under his breath, in which I still heard.

"They're really nice guys, Sou-chan. You should open up to them more," I gently told him. "You and Haru actually share a lot of similarities." He let out a scoff at my words, causing me to clamp my lips shut. The Iwatobi boys are a few of my closest friends too... it'd be a shame if they never warm up to each other...

Buzz!

I take out my phone and read the text message I just received.

From: Gou-chan :3

(F/n)! The contest just finished and it was amazing~ Let's meet up! I'll be waiting outside near the entrance of the school.

"Who was that?" Sousuke questioned me as he peered over my shoulder to look at my text as well.

"Mm, it was Gou," I replied. "I better go. I hope I see you later, Sou-chan." I turned and began to leave the curtained area. But as I was about to leave, Rin poked his head in. "Oh, Rin-chan!"

"Are you leaving?" he asked me.

"Hai. I'm going to meet up with Gou right now. So, goodbye for now." I left Rin and Sousuke behind as I made my way to leave to café. I then spot my friends sitting around the table with Momo and Aiichiro serving them. "Ohayo, minna!" I greeted Iwatobi as I approached them.

"(F/n)-chan! You're here too!" Nagisa cheered as he attacked me into a hug.

"Ohayo, (L/n)-san," Ai greeted me since I hadn't seen him before.

I bared everyone a smile, and I even managed to ruffle Haru's hair. "I'm sorry that I can't stand around much longer, but I have to go meet up with Gou-chan."

"Gou-san?!" Momo's topaz eyes bulged out at the mention of his crush's name. "She's not coming here, is she?" I shook my head at the first year and he let out a sigh of relief.

"Let's meet up later, (F/n)-chan?" Makoto suggested with his famous, gentle smile.

"Of course! I'll see you then." I waved goodbye and finally left the café to meet up with Gou.

~*~

Gou and I strolled from booth to booth of the Samezuka festival, trying out as many things as we could with the time we had. We shared many treats and participated in nearly every activity the school provided for the people. We had to make up for the time wasted last year, since Gou and I spent most of our time at the swim club's café, teasing Rin every chance we got. It was great just hanging out with my kouhai and best friend, just the two of us.

"GOU-SAN~" Gou and I turned our attention towards the familiar voice, away from the stand that sold shirts of those who work out constantly. I was about to get one for Sousuke himself with a silly quote on the front if my focus wasn't suddenly averted away from the piece of clothing.

I watch an excited Momotarou jog over to where we stood, a dreamy look on his face upon being in front of Gou. Wow, I hope I don't look that obvious in front of Sou-chan... "Kinta-Oh wait... no, um..."

I sweat dropped once hearing that Gou actually forgot the first year's name. Leaning closer to her, I whispered into her ear, "It's Momotarou."

"Momotarou-kun!" The magenta-haired girl quipped in realization. A gasp left the young swimmer's lips and he actually began to cry. Gou and I gawked at the boy in shock. "What's wrong?"

"Y-You called me by my given name for the first time," he bawled in happiness.

We gawked at the boy incredulously. Was Momo really that overjoyed by being called by his name? I mean, I guess that's one step closer to something, right?

Gou suddenly yelped beside me with a splashing sound following after. I blinked flabbergasted over to my kouhai and noticed her, out of the blue, dripping wet. My (e/c) eyes dart over to Momo and to Aiichiro, who was hiding behind a cardboard standee. They were both holding water guns. Were they in the middle of that one game that one club was promoting? Before I knew it, Aiichiro shot Momo in the back.

The fiery haired boy collapsed onto the ground, a look of delight crossing his face. I knew why seeing the state Gou was in right now. "Aiichiro-chan-Erk!"

My words were stuck at the back of my throat when my crush appeared out of nowhere behind the second-year boy.

"Ai, what the hell did you do to Gou?" Sousuke asked him, towering over him with a menacing glare. I'm sure if it was possible, his stare could've killed Ai right then and there. Then, possibly for punishment, Sousuke shot him as well with his own water gun, causing Ai to fall over in defeat.

Sousuke walked over to the both of us, barely giving me a glance. I watched as the bara took off his uniform jacket and wrapped it around Gou's drenched body. A pang of jealousy shot through my heart as he did so. "Wear it," he told her, not meeting her curious eyes.

"Arigato, Sousuke-kun!" Gou thanked him appreciatively as she tugged the jacket tighter around her body.

I know I shouldn't feel such a thing for my best friend, but I was slightly agitated. All because, as I stared at the two of them standing together from behind, they looked like an adorable couple. I knew the history of the boys of both swim teams. Gou had known the ebony-haired male since she was barely in elementary school. If there were any stronger feelings between these two, I wouldn't be surprised... but my heart still panged at the thought of it.

"Sousuke-kun, are you and the others playing a game?" Gou piped up after looking at the two boys that still lay on the tiled ground, pretending they have died in battle... when in fact, all they had were wet jackets.

"Hai," he replied. "I better go before someone else comes." Sousuke then averted his gaze towards me but I turned my head away to avoid his eyes. I tried to steady my breathing as I felt his stare burn into me. When I didn't give any reply, he left.

I pursed my lips as I watched his retreating figure. I glimpsed over at my best friend, who looked like she was shivering even when wrapped in Sousuke's jacket. "Are you ok, Gou-chan? Let's stop by the restroom, ok?" She happily agreed and we hurried over to the restrooms the school closed off for girls. Once inside, we hurried to get paper towels to dab at her drenched clothes. She also stood under the hand dryer as we did so.

"I can't believe this had to happen to me," Gou sighed as she tucked a few damp strands of her bangs behind her ear.

Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if I gotten the same amount of attention Gou did, but I decided not to mention that.

"Sou-chan was really nice to give you his jacket though," I told her as I dabbed at her shoulder.

She bared a grin. "He really is a nice guy under that tough exterior. He didn't really change that much since we were younger."

I nodded along with her in agreement. "Yeah, I bet he'd be perfect for you," I finally said.

"... Huh?"

I gave her another nod, forcing a smile to assure her. "Yeah, Sou-chan is nice, he's considerate, he's determined. He's unbelievably caring. He can cook... Plus, he has the muscles you can marvel at whenever you want," I listed as I pointed out each advantage on my fingers. "You two would be really cute together."

What I didn't expect next was for Gou to giggle. I eyed her suspiciously as she took my words lightly. "(F/n)-chan, that's silly. I don't have any of those kinds of feelings towards Sousuke-kun. Matter of fact, I know from my brother that he likes someone else."

"H-He likes someone else?" I squeaked out.

"Mmhm," she beamed at me. Well, damn, I didn't even know they knew another girl... This situation just keeps getting worse. "I'm honestly hoping they'll be together soon enough. I know she's also here visiting the festival."

"She is?" I grumbled, my heart shattering into a million pieces. "Well, I hope to meet her... I guess." I stepped away from Gou and checked her current condition. "I think you can ditch the vest and you should be fine with your shirt for now. It's still looks a little damp but it's not see-through anymore."

"Thanks, (F/n)-chan. Let's continue going around the festival, ok?"

I felt slightly better that I no longer felt envious of my friend. Although, I do still feel saddened that my crush does have a crush himself. I bared a smile and agreed to Gou's suggestion. Arm in arm, we walked out of the restroom together to go back to the Samezuka festival.

~*~

The day at the Samezuka festival was nearly to a close. People who were still lagging behind on the campus just sat around here and there, talking to friends as it neared night time. Gou and I were, indeed, still here, just getting a text from Rin that him and the others were just hanging out together by the campfire. We met up with the group of swimmers in no time at all.

"Gou-san!" Momo cheered as he spotted us coming over. The redhead was about to pounce at my friend but Rin had kept him down.

I decided to sit next to Makoto and Haru, who have been in my same class since our first year in high school. So, of course, other than Gou, these two boys were my closest friends. I didn't dare to look over at Sousuke, despite how much I wanted to. I knew if I did, I might get heartbroken all over again. Silly me. "(F/n)-chan, is something the matter?" Makoto asked me out of pure concern. His question brought everyone's focus on me, causing me to flush shyly. "You seem a little sad."

"O-Oh no. I'm fine, I promise," I reassured the Iwatobi swim captain.

"Are you sure, (F/n)?" Haru pressed on, his sapphire eyes intently on me. He pressed his hand to my forehead, much to my surprise. "You're not feeling sick or anything?"

"No, I'm fine," I repeated myself, blinking at the freestyle swimmer next to me. "Arigato for caring though."

Minutes passed and I was able to calm down as I joked around with my Iwatobi team. I never had a day when I felt truly sad around these four boys. Their varying personalities had always blended well with one another, when usually it wouldn't. I admire that about Nagisa, Rei, Makoto, and Haru, and I'm thankful to have friends like them.

"It's getting late, minna. Should we all go home?" Makoto piped up. We all reluctantly agreed since it was no denying the fact that it's growing darker and darker outside. All ten of us strolled over to the gates of Samezuka Academy and I made myself fall behind from everyone else just so I could watch them interact with one another. Rivals and friends.

Sousuke then suddenly slowed his pace so he could fall into step with me. There was no way I could try to escape him, that'd be too obvious, wouldn't it? "Oh, hey Sousuke," I greeted him, trying my best to not let my voice crack.

"Sousuke?" he grumbled out next to me in astonishment. "Did I do something? You're trying to avoid me, aren't you."

He wasn't asking me if I was, it was a statement he claimed must be right. "That's insane, Sousuke," I denied.

"Then stop calling me just that. You usually call me Sou-chan..."

I glimpsed up at him curiously and gave a shrug. "You dislike being called by nicknames."

"... I was getting used to you calling me that, so you can't just randomly start calling me Sousuke."

"It's your name, isn't it?"

"Why are you being so irritating?!" He grabbed me by my shoulders and we halted to a stop. "Tell me what I did wrong, (F/n). I know there's something wrong or you wouldn't be acting this way." I couldn't bring myself to answer him and I just hung my head down. "Oi!" My head was whipped back up when his hands reached my face, forcing me to stare at him. "(F/n)."

"I-I swear I'm fine, Sousuke. Please just let me..." I trailed off when I felt my eyes sting with tears. Why do I have to like you so much? "Y-You didn't do anything wrong. I can't do anything if it's your feelings."

"What are you talking about?" he questioned me, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "My feelings?"

"If it's not Gou, then I hope the girl you like realizes you're amazing," I mumbled out. "Gou said she heard from Rin that you liked a girl. I guess I can't help but be a little jealous of that girl." His aqua orbs bore into me as I ended up confessing to him. "You're going to make your crush really happy. If she ends up not liking you back, she's an idiot."

"Baka."

"Heh? W-Why are you calling me baka? You're so mean!" I snapped at him with a frown. "I'm admitting my feelings to you and you're-"

"I like you, (F/n)."

"HEH?!"

"Are you deaf now, too?"

"N-N-No, but I don't understand!"

"What Gou heard from Rin was me talking about you," Sousuke explained with a soft grin. "I like you and I have for a while now. Why would you think there's another girl? You're the only girl I actually open up to... Were you jealous of Gou when I gave her my jacket earlier?" I felt my whole body heat up in humiliation at his correct guess. "I'm sorry, but she was the one that was drenched."

"Urasai!" I stammered.

"Here." He took off his jacket, in which Gou had returned to him earlier, and draped it over my shoulders. "Does that make you feel better?"

"A-Are you teasing me, Sou-chan?!"

He grinned wider. "Good. I actually like it when you call me by that."

"Oh? Sou-chan, (F/n)-chan, what are you two doing?" Nagisa called out to us. We pulled away from each other when we saw our group looking right at us.

"Give us a minute, ok?" I replied. The Iwatobi boys, Momo, and Nitori just nodded their heads and continued walking off. It was only the Matsuoka siblings that gave us mischievous grins before following after. "Nagi-chan calls you by Sou-chan, too?"

"Make him stop calling me that. I only want you to call me that," Sousuke begged. He reached over and grabbed my hand into his. "If he doesn't stop, then I'll have to do something about it."

"Wha! Sou-chan, so scary. Don't hurt my kouhai!" I nagged with a pout.

A small hum left his lips as he gazed down at me. "Let's go out sometime, then, or should I ask Gou?"

"That's not funny!" I gaped as I gave his arm a smack.

"Answer my question," he pressed on with a smirk.

"I guess so, baka."

Sousuke and I finally reach the gates where everyone else were waiting at. I stand by Gou's side, who gave me a smug expression. "You knew it was me, didn't you," I whispered to her.

"I wanted to see your reaction when I told you it might've been a different girl. Your face was all I needed to know that you had a crush on Sousuke-kun. Why didn't you tell me?" my female kouhai told me with her arms crossed.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know."

Everyone said their goodbyes to one another and it looked to be that there were no bad blood between anyone, much to my delight. "I'll see you soon, (F/n). I'll call you for the details later," Sousuke said, not caring about the odd stares he was receiving from everyone. I grinned brightly at this.

"Can't wait for our date, Sou-chan~."
