"I'm going to Australia." The maroon haired boy told you sadly. Your eyes widened at his sudden words.

"W-What?" You didn't want to believe his words. His bright crimson eyes darted to his feel, becoming even more upset.

"I wanted to tell you sooner but, I didn't want you to be sad. I want to become an Olympic swimmer so I'm going to a swimming school in Australia. I'll definitely come back!" Rin said, looking back at you again. Tears stung in your eyes and you fought them, trying not to cry.

"Promise?" You asked him. He grinned with his pointy teeth.

"Promise! No matter how old we get, you'll wait for me, right?"

"Right!" You then gave the little shark a big bear hug.

And you waited. You're in your second year of high school now but you haven't got one single letter, email, or call from Rin since he left. But, you still wait for him. You wonder how he'd look now compared to back then.

'Bet he's handsome.' you'd think with a smile.

You were on your way home from school, waiting for a train to pass by on the railroad. You looked up for a split second to see a person looking at you in shock before the train was in the way, seeing a glimpse of maroon hair and shark-like teeth.

'Was that Rin?!' You thought to yourself. 'No, it couldn't be. He's all the way in Australia.' You tried convincing yourself you were just seeing things as you nervously chuckled.

The train finally went by, and there he was. An older version of the boy you knew so well in elementary school. All you two could do was stare at each other for a few moments until he broke the silence.

"No way..." Was all he said before the both of you teared up and you ran to him, nearly tackling him with a hug.

"I missed you!" You said, squeezing him.

"I missed you too! You waited. Just like we said." He said. You giggled and gently nudged his arm.

"I couldn't just forget you, silly! But you should have called or something." You said, pouting. Rin just rubbed the back of his neck nervously. You always thought he was cute when he did stuff like that. Now, he was even cuter.

"Oi, what are you blushing at?" He asked, obviously flustered. You then took advantage of the situation and began to tease him to embarrass him more.

"Oh, nothing. Just the fact you got cuter over the years." You said with a grin. His face slowly turned a bright pink and he gently flicked your forehead.

"You're still an idiot."

Giggling, you clung to his arm. "Please don't leave again."

"I won't." And with that, he offered to walk you home. Of course, you let him and he held your hand just like he did in elementary school. This time it seemed different. Maybe like something called love.
