Here you are, my lovely readers.
Point of View: Third Person
The Next Morning
Artemis gives Gration's hunting knife to Moonlace since it was his kill.
The Hunt moves and doesn't set up camp. They scour the countryside for Percy. Moonlace feels ridiculous looking for himself but helps them nonetheless. He has to lean against a tree once though because his breath is gone. The instinctual state taking its toll on him.
By nightfall, he's leaning on Thalia and pale as a ghost, swearing and breathing heavily. "What's wrong with him?" Phoebe asks Thalia as they head back towards the rendezvous point. Moonlace, Phoebe, and Thalia are in a group, searching a mountain scape after the part of woods they were assigned.
"I don't know." Thalia sounds worried and Moonlace picks up on that.
"I'm fine." Moonlace grunts, pain shooting up both his legs but mainly his right one.
"Yeah, and I'm Queen of England. Bull, you're not fine. You're worse than yesterday." Phoebe tells him.
"I just need rest." Moonlace breathes out painfully.
"No kidding." Thalia says. "You look like Hades."
They make it to the rendezvous point and Artemis sees Moonlace immediately. "How long did you sleep last night?" Artemis asks as she comes up to him.
"Three hours." Moonlace answers.
She huffs and slaps him, the huntresses holding their breath. He turns his head back slowly. "You know you're supposed to sleep longer than that after what you did. The body requires rest." Artemis seethes.
"Yes, my lady. Forgive my ignorance." He bows his head.
"We will camp here." Artemis says and sets up her own tent.
The camp is set up in three minutes and Thalia helps Moonlace into his tent. She makes him lay down on his bed and his head falls to the side instantly. Her eyes widen and she grins. She pulls the blankets up and over top of him. She stops herself from pulling down his hood and leaves the tent where everyone else is gathered outside.
"He's asleep. As soon as he was laying down, he was out cold." Thalia shrugs.
"Did you get to see what he looked like?" Christina inquires.
Thalia shakes her head. "It doesn't feel right. He deserves his privacy and he definitely won't harm us. What's the point in hurting him when he never hurts us?"
"Wise words, you're growing up, Thalia." Artemis smiles and Thalia blushes. "I agree. He will be out for a while though. He pushed himself far past himself today. After fighting like he did and again after it was over, searching all day made him pay the price."
"How long is a while?" Phoebe asks.
"Two days." Artemis sighs.
"Will he be alright?" Rose asks.
"He should be." Atalanta says. "I need to dress his wounds again though."
"Just lift up his shirt then." Thalia tells her.
"I'll help you." Erica shrugs.
"Wait until morning. We're all tired. Get some sleep." Artemis tells them.
"Yes, milady." They all say and run off to their tents.
