Through thick and thin

You've been there without knowing

Whether I was angry or happy

Confused or upset

I would let you in my heart again

The guitar would set me on edge

The drums match my heart beat

The bass run through me

The vocals make me melt in the heat

I  immerse myself in the music

Let it fill my soul

Fill the emptiness

My heart's one hole

I wish for fame

I wish for fortune

But I know I need it not

When I hear the emotion

The music keeps me afloat

In the endless tides

Threaten to drag me under

Now I know I can take it in my stride.
