why should i stand
for a church that does not
stand for me?

will not marry me,
would not marry my mother
or my grandfather,
for stupid reasons like sexuality and divorce
even though there are people that
pour their lives and soul into
the establishment
but because of strict rules and greed,
the establishment just absorbs those lives and souls
without giving back.

so why should i go to church, even on christmas day?
why should i support such a place
that protects their pedophiles and abusers?
why should i support such a place in this modern day that still adheres to old time rules?

give me one good reason! but until
i will choose to believe in my own way
and get married in my own way
and stand on my own.
