Awakening
Mason, a bunny, was walking home from his job as a waiter. He was up doing the graveyard shift, and wanted to take a shortcut home, by walking down the alley way. Suddenly, some one pounced on him. The creature said, "Don't struggle. This won't hurt for long." The creature yanked out a patch of Mason's fur and stored it in a test tube. The creature backed in to the light. It wore a Pawda blouse and Lizi (A/N Levi's) jeans. It had little fur, except some on the top of her head, which went down to it's shoulders. It was almost animal. It's face was hidden. It ran as soon as it knew Mason saw it. It looked monsterous, but seemed to have an understanding of animal language. Alien, maybe? Mason ran to the police. They didn't believe him. No one did. Until a week later, when more came to report similar muggings...
Mac had been working for three weeks, and all came back the same: The beings in Zootopia were evolving to near humanoid status. Most animals had gained a number of chromosomes, like bunnies, who now had 26. She was shocked, mostly. Creatures here were advancing faster than anyone every predicted. Mac wore her Ocelot disguise while in public, but locked in her room, she was herself, in her natural form. She was continuing her latest experiment on "reproductive" compatibility between humans and Zoomans- her current nickname for the creatures of Zootopia- when her adoptive father knocked on the door. She put away her mobile lab and activated her disguise. She unlocked the door and let her father in. "Mac, read the papers." In his hands was the Zootopian Chronicle. The headline read, "Five-Fingered Serial Kidnapper at Large" A small swatch stated a description of the creature. For a second, Mac panicked. Had her father found out? Would he abandon her? But her fears were subsided when her father said,"I'm worried about you, Mac. Don't stay out after 9:00 anymore. The creature's target is normally furred mammals, so the police is putting those at risk under protection." Mac was troubled. "Like who?", she asked. "Bunnies, foxes, cheetahs, sloths, wolves, and ocelots." Mac frowned mentally. A fox was the last on her list. She nodded her head and her father left the room. She knew exactly the fox to get fur from, and to show the ZPD they couldn't protect everyone.
