when the world ends

"What will you do if the world is going to end tomorrow?"

That is the question that Frisk had been asking almost everyone that she knew. Well, its not like the world is really gonna end tomorrow, she just got curious with the thought of it.

It all started when she found a book in Toriel's room. It didn't look like a book about snails, water sausages, or baking, and so she got curious.

The book was titled 'When the World Ends' and just like its title, its about the end of the world. The main character in the book fell in love the day before the world ended and tried to pursue his love before everything came to an end. It was like the most romantic book she ever read.

Why would Toriel have a book like that? Perhaps, her goat mom is just a hopeless romantic like her....just not that hopeless.

-*-*-

She if coursed asked it to her dearest goat mom first. On one peaceful afternoon when her goat mom is sitting on her usual chair, reading the same book. Perhaps, it was her favorite one.

"Goat mom, what will you do if the world is going to end tomorrow?" She asked as her eyes sparkled with curiousity.

"Is it going to end tomorrow?" Toriel asked with confusion.

"Well, not really. I just want to know." She ended her statement with an awkward grin.

"If that's the case, then, I guess I'll go to Asgore, talk, and perhaps I will forgive him. Its not entirely his fault, afterall."

The human child can't help but smile at her guardian's response. It will be nice if she were to do it before it is the end.

"Goat mom, I was thinking, why don't you do it? But without the thought of the world coming to its end." She suggested with a smile.

The small human's suggestion was something she never had thought she would say to her, but it made her glad anyway.

"Perhaps, I will consider that." The goat lady said and put her book down.

-*-*-

After a couple of minutes, she then decided to go out of the ruins and found her favorite skeleton.

"Papyrus!!" She shouted his name with glee as she run with her arms spread wide.

"Nyeh?" The tall skeleton looked confused as he saw the small human running towards him.

She hugged him and he gladly hugged her back. After some minutes, they broke the hug.

"Greetings, human!" The great Papyrus re-did their greetings with a bright smile.

"Howdy!" Frisk played along with him, "So, uhh, I have a question suited for the great Papyrus!" She said exaggeratedly.

"Nyeh heh heh! Whatever that is, the great Papyrus will answer your questions!" He said with a prideful grin.

"What will you do if the world is going to end tomorrow?" She asked and it took the tall cinnamon roll before he gave his mighty reply.

"If the world is going to end, then I shall spend the rest of my days with my family and friends!" He said, full of enthusiasm.

"But it's not really gonna end, right?" He asked with sad eyes(--sockets)

"Its not going to end, don't worry," She hugged him once more before going around and interviewing some monsters.

-*-*-

After getting various replies from random monsters she will encounter, she kind of getting bored of this little game. Afterall, everyone's just giving the same answers.

Perhaps, she should  try asking someone  with a different perspective in life. Maybe, she should go to Asgore. That's right! King Asgore!

She got up from her seat and started to dash. . . . It was a bad idea. Who would run full speed ahead in such a cold place? She would never dare to do that again.

"Heya kiddo, what'cha doin' out here?" A voice called out and she exactly knew who is this. Sans.

"Well, nothing important." She said and Sans didn't look happy with her answer. Of course he won't, he was worried afterall.

"Sheesh, if you're going to play, please do it in a place with uhh...a suitable weather." He said and ruffled her hair.

"Sans, I'm not a child anymore," She crossed her arms. "I'm sixteen, okay?!"

"Eh, doesn't really matter." He then grinned, "Oh, and by the way, hi sixteen, I'm Sans."

She was seriously angry but that pun somehow turned all of the 'anger' into 'laughter'.

"Seriously, a joke? While I'm angry?" She asked while laughing. "You really know me well."

"'Course I do. We're best pals remember?" He said and she smiled at him.

"Yeah, so uhh...wait what?" She looked around and noticed that she's not in the Snowdin Forest anymore. She's in Sans and Papyrus' house.

"When did you--?" She asked, startled.

"Surprised? Why don't you take a guess?" He challenged her.

"When you ruffled my hair and distracted me, yeah." She answered.

"Wow, you're quite good at this." He laughed, a bit impressed.

"So, uhh, Sans, I got a question for you." She said, trying to ask him the same question that she had asked everybody else.

"Sure, gimme your best shot." He said, somehow confinent that he will answer the question correctly for he thought its a trivial question like she asks everytime.

"What will you do if the world is going to end tomorrow?" She asked and the skeleton's face somehow looked shock.

"Wow, I never thought you're into stuff like that." He laughed. End of the world, really? So unrealistic.

"Just anwer!" She demanded impatiently.

"Well, before the world ends, I will pick up my socks, it will make my bro happy." He said, kind of contented with his answer.

"Seriously...?" His answer really is different but it felt like a joke, like he doesnt really mean it.

"Then, I will pay my tab, because Grillbz is seriously gonna kill me if I don't." He laughed and she facepalmed.

"Do you really need the world to end before you do that?" She asked as he cintinued to laugh.

"Of course, some drama have to happen, it's the end of the world, afterall." He said, then the laughter died down.

"Are you being serious or just making fun of the idea of the world coming to it's end?" She asked but based ob the look on his face, he didn' t hear it.

"Then, the last thing I will do, is to convey my feelings to the person I love." He said in a serious tone.

Her thoughts had suddenly stopped and focused on the fact that he loves someone.

"You are in love with someone...?" She silently asked.

She doesn't know why, but with all of her heart (or soul, whatever) she wished that this is just one of his jokes.

"Yeah, pretty unusual, don'cha think?" He asked, laughing to himself.

Then, at that moment, she felt something snap.

"No, its just that, do you really need the world to end before you do that?" She asked out of curiousity.

"Well, not really, in fact, I can do it today." He said and she felt like he's bluffing.

"Eh? You don't really have to do it now, confessing takes a lot of courage an--" Before she finished rambling, he said something that made her stop completely.

"I love you."
