"Ashirwad dijiye Kaka sasur ji, ki mein patibabu ko nyay dila pau " Bondita said touching Kaka's feet.

" Vijayi bhava bahu.....hume pata hai tumhi jeetogi " Kaka gave his blessings.

Before entering the court room Bondita prayed in her mind "Hey Dugga maa apni Bondita ko shakti dena taki aaj mein mere patibabu ke upar huye har vaar ka samna kar saku ".

Few moments later the judge entered and everyone stood up.

" Case number 128/5, Amelia Smith Vs Anirudh Roychowdhury " announced the clerk and handed the important papers to the judge.

" Your honor, my client Ms. Amelia Smith has been subjected to the henious act of molestation by Mr. Anirudh Roychowdhury. This man not only physically abused her but gave her a life long scar. Today is the first hearing of this case and I pray that the criminal pays for his crime." said Mr. Richard Williams, Amelia's lawyer. The public in the court started talking among themselves.

"Order, Order....Mr. Richard you may proceed" said the judge.

"Firstly I would like to ask some questions to Mr. Anirudh Roychowdhury " said Richard.

" Yes you can do " said Judge.

" So Mr. Anirudh why did you go to Miss Amelia ? " asked Richard. " I went there to have a talk with Amelia about the permission for public toilet " replied Anirudh.

" But as far as I know Mr. Roychowdhury, Miss Amelia isn't any government officer who would permit you.....so? " Richard asked. "Actually she said that she would help me by talking to her father in this matter. And asked me to come to her  place with all the important papers " said Anirudh.

"Ok, then what happened after that ?"

" I went to her house and we were having a conversation when she started coming closer to me "

" well what happend then ? What did you do ? "

" I started avoiding her but she didn't stop. On asking the reason she said that every work has a price anddd" Anirudh's voice choked. "And started touching me in uncomfortable manner " said Anirudh.

" So what did you do to save yourself  ?"

" I warned her but she suddenly tore her clothes, scatterted her hairs and called the guards. Before I could response the guards came and arrested me " Anirudh said with moist eyes.

Richard started clapping "What a story Mr. Anirudh.....very good ", then he turned towards the judge and said " Your honor isn't it strange that Miss Amelia tried to force herself on Mr. Anirudh and he just couldn't do anything ?"

" Well how will he because he is telling lie your honor, actually the truth is Mr. Roychowdhury couldn't control his lust upon seeing a beautiful women like Amelia and tried to molest her " Richard shouted pointing towards Anirudh.

" I object your honor " Bondita stood up from from her place.
"I think my barrister friend  has forgotten that court runs on proofs and not on assumptions."

" Mr. Richard do you have any proof about the words you are saying ? " asked judge.

" Yes, your honor.....I would like to call Mr. Ramlal in the witness box " said Mr. Richard.

"Proceed "

Ramlal walked up to the stand and took the oath to tell the truth.
" Toh Mr. Ramlal aap hum sabko ye bataiye ki usdin apne kya dekha tha jab aap Amelia ji ke room mein gaye "

" Ji, maine ye dekha ki Madam ke kapde faate huye the aur unke baal bhi bikre huye the....aur wo chilla rahi thi " said Ramlal.

" Acha tabh Mr. Anirudh kya kar rahe the ? "

"Inhone ne hi toh madam ko neeche dhakela tha.....aur phir wo apne bachaw ke liye chilla rahi thi." Ramlal attested ponting towards Anirudh.

" Your Honor, with Ramlal's statement its crystal clear that Mr. Anirudh tried to molest my client." Richard said.

" Barrister Bondita, do you have any question to ask ?" asked the judge.

" Yess your honor " Bondita walked to Ramlal and said "Ramlal ji mujhe ye bataiye..... apne kya apni ankhon se dekha tha Mr. Roychowdhury ko Amelia ji ke kapde faad te huye ?? " asked Bondita. " I object your honor, barrister Bondita is asking groundless questions and wasting court's precious time " Richard said.

" Patience barrister, with time everything will be clear.....your honor I would request my oppostion friend to let me do my work " said Bondita with a smirk

" Objection overruled, Barrister Bondita you may proceed" said  Judge.

" Thank you your honor" and bondita again turned towards Ramlal " Toh apne khud dekha tha Mr. Roychowdhury ko kapde faad te huye ? Ha ya nahi "

" Ji nahi....maine bus itna hi dekha ki unhone Madam ko pakad rakha tha " said Ramlal.

" Sukriya apka...aap ja sakte hai"

" Next your honor I would like to call Miss Amelia in the witness box " said Bondita.

Amelia was called up to the stand.
" Miss Amelia in your statement you said that when Mr. Roychowdhury was molesting you, you had some injuries.....can you show the injuries to the court ".

Amelia nodded and pulled up the sleeves to show the injuies in shoulder. " If I am not wrong these marks are of nails.... right" Bondita commented observing the marks.

" Yess " Amelia said. Now Bondita walked towards Anirudh and said " Mr Roychowdhury can you show me your hand ? " to which Anirudh forwarded his hand and Bondita observed it carefully. " Your honor, Mr Roychowdhury's nails are too small to leave marks as you all can see " Bondita said picking Anirudh's hand up.

"Objection Your Honor, I know Mr Anirudh is Mrs. Bondita's husband and its natural that she will be in his favor, but it doesn't means that she has right to waste court's time by giving useless points " taunted Richard.

" Your honor, Mr Richard is mixing my personal life with my professional life. In this case he should remember that in court I am Mr. Roychowdhury's lawyer and not wife " Bondita said sternly.

" Mr. Richard don't bring anyone's personal life in the professional sphere " ordered the judge.

" Sorry your honor" Richard downed his face.

" Barrister Bondita you may continue " - judge.

" Thank you your honor " Bondita walked upto Amelia and asked " So Miss Amelia except you who all were present in the house that day ?"

" I was alone in the house and two guards were recruited for my security " Amelia.

" But as far as I know, there are lots of household helpers in your bungalow....isn't it ?"

" Yess there is a cook, a gardener and two household helpers "

" So where were they on that day ? "

" The cook had gone home early that day, one of the household worker's wife was pregnant and the other was on holiday from a week and gardener didn't come up that day" Amelia said.

" What a coincidence ! All the household helpers were absent on that very day. Why is this so ?"

"How will I know that Barrister ?" Amelia tried to act innocent.

" Absolutely......how will you know " said Bondita.

" Your honor, isn't it strange that all the household helps were altogether absent on that very day when this incident took place " Bondita continued.

" Objection your honor, Barrister Bondita is jumping into conclusions after giving only one fact....does she have any proper proof " Richard said.

" Objection sustained, Barrister Bondita do you have any evidence to prove your statement " asked the judge.

" Sorry your honor, I don't have any proof right now but soon will " Bondita said.

" Order ! Order! After hearing both sides, I want Mr. Anirudh's party to bring proper evidence to prove his innocence. The court is adjourned for the day. Next hearing will be after 4 days"  said the judge and left

" Better luck next time Barrister" Richard taunted.

" Barrister you know luck is something which changes its party frequently, so lets see luck favors whom " Bondita replied and walked out of the room.

Bondita was in study going through the files and statements to find out a clue. With every passing minute she was becoming restless, she can't see her righteous patibabu behind the bars.

" Samajh nahi araha dugga maa mein kya karu....bas ek clue mil jaye mujhe...bas ek clue " Bondita was in a emotional turmoil when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning around she found her patibabu.

" Patibabu....mujhe maaf kar dijiye aaj mein aache se lad nahi payi " Bondita said with  tear flowing out of her eyes. Anirudh rubbed the tear and said " Bohot achaa ladi tum Bondita....pata hai tumhare andar ki himmat se mujhe bhi himmat mili hai....warna mein toh puri tarah toot gaya tha "

Bondita cupped his face "Patibabu mere hote huye mein apko kuch nahi hone dungi....aur phir dugga maa bhi toh humare sath hai....hum zaroor jitenge dekh lena". He suddenly engulfed her in a hug and said " Mujhe tumpe pura bharosha hai ". They were in each others solance when some files and books fell down. Bondita picked up a book and what she saw left her perplexed.

4 days passed and it was the day of hearing again. Bondita didn't waste a single second in these 4 days, she was fully determind to prove Anirudh's innocence.

The court hearing started with Bondita taking the lead.

" My honor, once again I would like to call Miss Amelia to the witness box " said Bondita.

" Yes, you can " Judge agreed.

Amelia once again stood in the stand and Bondita began with her questioning.

" Miss Amelia may I know when you met Mr. Roychowdhury for the first time ? " asked Bondita.

" I met him in a party organised by my father " Amelia replied. " Are you sure you met him there for the first time ? Think once again miss." Bondita said. "Yes I am sure I met him in my father's party for the first time"---Amelia.

" Lie.....you are lying miss Amelia " Bondita pointed towards her " You met Mr. Roychowdhury for the first time in the King's University, London. Isn't it ? "

Hearing this Amelia started sweating and nervously replied "Ah...Yes....yes now I remembered I have seen him in King's University".

" But what it has to do with this case Barrister Bondita " asked Richard.

" It has Barrister...it has " Bondita replied.

" Your honor, Miss Amelia was rusticated from the university on the grounds of consuming drug in the University campus. And the one who catched them was none other than Mr. Roychowdhury. Am I right ? " said Bondita.

" Objection your honor, Barrister Bondita is again talking without evidences. " said Richard. " No your honor this time I am here with all evidences to prove my statement" Bondita said boldly.

" Your honor, to prove my statement I would like to call Mr. Henry Evans, the former principal of King's University "

" Yes, you may "

A man of 65 with blonde hair and thick moustache entered the court room turning Amelia's face pale.

" Sir Henry, do you remember the case when some of your students were rusticated because the were consuming drugs insode the university ? " asked Bondita.

" Yes barrister ! I do" replied Henry.

" Can you tell the court who were the culprits and who catched them ? " asked Bondita. " There were three culprits Amelia, Peter and Ryan " replied Henry. " Is that Amelia she ? " Bondita pointed towards Amelia. " Yes, she is the one. And the one who helped us find the culprits was Anirudh Roychowdhury, a brilliant student of our university " said Henry.

" Thank you so much ! Your honor, when Miss Amelia was rusticated she grew a hatred for Mr. Roychowdhury. Years later when they again met in a party Amelia quickly recognised him while he couldn't. Upon seeing Mr. Roychowdhury the vegenance fire inside Amelia's heart started burning again and she decided to frame him. " Bondita said.

" No, this is not true....she is lying" Amelia shouted from her place.

" Order! Order ! Miss Amelia you will be given chance to speak, but right now you sit down there" ---- Judge.

" Next your honor I would like to call Mr. Gopinath, gardener of Smith mainson "

" Proceed "

Gopinath walked up to the stand and Bondita began with her questions.

" Toh Gopinath ji aap 21 tarik ko kam pe kyu nahi gaye the? " asked Bondita. " Ji hume Madam ne mana kiya tha aane se....unhone kaha ki mein ekdin ki chutti le loon" said Gopinath.

" Sukriya ! Your honor you may remember that when Miss Amelia was asked about the whereabouts of her gardener, she said he was absent that day without any information. But with Mr. Gopinath's statement it's clear that she was lying " said Bondita.

" You honor, now once again I would like to call Miss Amelia to the stand " said Bondita.

"Miss Amelia, what did you do when Mr Roychowdhury tried to molest you ? " asked Bondita.

" I tried to resist him, but he was much stronger than me" Amelia replied nervously.

" Wow.....strange someone was molesting you and you just tried to resist. " said Bondita. "Actually how will you....you have never been molested and hence you never tried to defend. " Bondita declared.

" I object your honor, what proof does Barrister Bondita has that my client didn't tried to defend." asked Richard.

" The proof is here itself your honor....in front of our eyes "

" Then show us Barrister "

Bondita walked upto Anirudh and said " Your honor, are you able to see any marks on Mr. Roychowdhury's face.....no. We all know whenever someone is being molested they first attack a molester's face, nose and ear to defend themselves. If Mr. Roychowdhury had truely molested her then there would have been marks on his face " Bondita said. " Also the marks on Amelia's shoulder was intentionally made by her to prove Mr. Roychowdhury guilty. "

Amelia was slowly loosing her patience when again Bondita came and said " Your game is over Miss Amelia....tell the truth"

" I am telling the truth " Amelia replied.

" No you are not telling the truth.....come on Miss speak up....didn't you hear I said speak up....Speak up"

" Yess...yess..yess....I did everything. I was never being molested. Everything was a damn plan " Amelia blurted out in one go while Bondita smirked.

" That's it your honor" Bondita bowed her head down.

" Keeping all the evidences and witnesses presented by both the side in mind, it is proved that Miss Amelia Smith has framed Mr. Anirudh Roychowdhury in the case of molestation. According to the British India Law, Miss Amelia Smith is sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. The case is closed " declared the judge.

Bondita let out a sigh of relief as she successfully proved her Patibabu's innocence. While Amelia was taken to judicial custody Anirudh and Bondita walked out of the court. Bondita looked at Anirudh who was still looking downwards.

" Mere Patibabu ka shir jhuka nahi utha hua acha lagta hai......or aap hi kehte haina jab galti na ho toh shir nahi jhukana chahiye....chaliye uthaiye apni nazre " Bondita said to which Anirudh smiled. Bondita now forwarded her hand and Anirudh placed his hand on hers. They descended down the stairs of court hand in hand and head held high.
