Nostalgia

There were better times~
when I'd wake up with a smile,
thinking about you for a while.

There were better days~
when the skies were crystal clear
only because you were here.

-There will always be better

There were better nights~
when we'd stay up with the stars,
thinking how we'll camp on Mars.

-There will always be better

There were better dawns~
when I'd wake up to your snores,
crashing loudly like sea shores.

-There will always be better

There were better noon~
when you'd love me to the moon and back,
and I'd love you twice the whole track.

-There will always be better

There were better dusk~
when we'd watch the sun until it set,
talking about how we first met.

-There will always be better

There were better months~
when we'd stay up past curfew,
catching up on what was new.

-There will always be better

There were better years~
when we'd hang out at parties,
too busy making memories.

-There will always be better

There were better times~
when I'd pry open my eyes,
never realizing what was never mines.

-There will always be better

There were better times.
There were better rhymes.
There were better kinds.

Hello. I hope you enjoyed this little poem I made. I kind of thought of it as a song rather than a poem when I was writing it, but interpret it as you like. After all, a painting could be viewed in more than one way.
