Aiden's Pov

I stare at Bree as she has her soup. She doesn't even allow anyone to help her with it, persistent as always. It's been a week since our confession and I've been waiting for Bree to open up but she said she needs some time and space before letting me in and I will give her that. We haven't been as close as we were but things have got a lot better and I couldn't ask for more right now.

Jackson seemed happy to see us back together but he's still worried about something that Bree is yet to tell me. I didn't see her smile yet, she just gives the tight fake smile sometimes which can fool many people but not me. I don't know if things are falling into place but they do feel right. "What are you think about?"

Bree's voice interrupts my thoughts and I look at her beautiful confused face. "It's nothing,"

She just nods her head, still not convinced with my answer and gets back to her soup while constantly giving me a look every two seconds as if she's trying to read my mind. I miss the talkative Bree, she used to say or do something to make me smile even at the worst situation. "When do I get to go home?"

"In two days," I keep my answer monotonic while a yawn escapes my lips.

"Aiden, just go and sleep. I'll call the nurses if I need anything. You look so ti-" I cut her off.

"Just have your soup Bree. I'll do fine, I'll sleep after you sleep," It's not just about taking care for her but it's about, letting her go out of my sight. I can't let that happen again.

"I finished my soup and stop being monotonic to me. Just go sleep," Bree gives me a cold stare but I make no move to do what she said.

"You're such a persistent dick!" She whisper shouts clearly annoyed with me.

"Oh sweetheart, don't you like it?" I suppress a smile at my comment while I observe her stiffen and a blush covers her face but seems like I touched a nerve but then she stays calm.

I didn't have to make such a remark, I keep making her upset. She tries grabbing some water from the table next to her bed and I stop her. "Let me get that for you,"

She gives me a tight smile accompanied with a nod and I give the glass of water to her. Something less awkward. "How are you feeling now? I mean the physio started so I just wanted to make sure, you're not in pain,"

I look at her for an answer while clearing all the food and grabbing a coke for myself. "It's hurts a little but I'm better. Good that the fractures were not that serious,"

I nod still upset that she's going to be hurting for a while and her broken ribs that are healing now, keep hurting her with the slightest movement sometimes. It hurts to see her like that. "Aiden?"

"Yeah?"

"Did you talk to your mom yet?" I sigh shaking my head indicating that I didn't. I don't understand why she wants me to talk to my mom when all along my parents were not even polite with her. Yeah, right it's Bree and she always has an explanation for everything.

"You can't stay mad at her for long Aiden. She did what she thought is right and she probably is guilty about it so why not give her a chance?" She looks at me hopefully.

"I... I'll talk to her. I just need sometime and I need to know what happened first," I give her a tight smile before turning away heading to the sofa before her expression changes and open my laptop just to pretend as if I'm working. I quickly glance at Bree to fond her still staring at me.

The door opens with a small creak revealing Ricky. "It's so boring at work without you!"

I see Bree chuckle and smile a little, just for a second maybe. Ricky kisses her on her forehead and turns to me flashing a bright smile and I return it. Just like the old times. I put my laptop aside and walk over to them as Ricky gives me a bro-hug. "We've got some talking to do,"

Ricky whispers with a grin and I give him a confused look. I nod while releasing him from the hug and turn our attention to Bree. "Rachel hasn't come today?"

"Nope. She's out with Ellie for her birthday shopping. She wants an olaf costume this time,"

"What happened to dressing up like Cinderella?" Bree asks with an amused expression which makes me smile a little.

"She said she wanted glass shoes and a prince which left me and Rachel clueless about what to do. But then she started getting obsessed with frozen and good lord, she changed her mind," Ricky sighs after his dramatic explanation and gives us a sheepish smile.

"Looks like you're having fun as a father," I joke.

"Trust me, it's worth the hard work when you she her smile," he says giving me a smile and turn my gaze to Bree who's lost in thoughts with a cold expression. She was smiling a moment ago and now what's wrong with her. Looking over at Ricky, his expression changes as he looks at Bree. As if something triggered in his mind and his expression turns blank. Great! Now I'm left confused.

My phone starts ringing and I take it out of my pocket just to let out a frustrated sight when I see its mom again. She's got a great timing! I cut off the volume and Bree speaks up, "Aiden, take the call."

"Not now, the last person I want to talk to is mom," I say staring back her her brown orbs. I'm almost pleading her with my eyes cause she knows, if she asks me again, I'll just do it. She just sighs in defeat.

"What's going on?" Ricky asks with a confused expression.

"Aiden here, stopped talking to his mom after Jackson told him that his parents stopped me from meeting him," Bree explains, her eyes not leaving mine.

"She deserves it after what she d-" Bree cuts him off with just a look and I raise my eyebrow at what just happened. Bree made Ricky shut up with one look and that made me smirk.

"I'll be at your place as soon as I get discharged from the hospital so that I can attend Ellie's birthday party," Bree informs Ricky and I wonder if she's every going to take rest nice she's out of the hospital.

"You're invited too Aiden," Ricky says grinning and I nod before talking, "Sure I'll come there with Bree,"

A smirk finds its way onto my face as Bree looks up at me confused and a little flushed. "I guess it's time for you to sleep. Let me and Ricky have a chat,"

I suggest looking at Bree and she narrows her eyes at me, reminding me of how she was in high school. "I'm not sleeping right away, you guys can get out of the room and have your 'chat' if you want,"

"Is Ms. Adams mad at us now? What got the missy all pissy?" I suppress my laughter at my statement. I'm talking no sense right now but I'm trying to make her smile again.

"I'm not mad at you," She says staring back at me like a kid who's candy just got stolen.

"Hello Aiden! I'm still here!" Ricky waves his hand in front of me, reminding me of his presence with a smirk plastered across his face.

Bree giggles a little making me smile at my victory leaving Ricky shocked a little. "Did she just smile?!"

Ricky whisper shouts to me in disbelief and I nod my head while I smile looking at Bree, "Yep, she just did. She didn't just smile actually, she giggled,"

She stops smiling when she catches me staring at her and I sigh a little. At least that was a start. "I'll meet you guys tomorrow. It's getting late and Aiden, there's nothing important to talk about. I was just bugging you,"

That's the same old best friend I used to know. "Don't stay up late talking to this idiot. Take enough rest so that you can help us make the most of Ellie's birthday. She's been asking for you," Bree just gives a half hearted smile and Ricky bids her good night before facing me.

He pulls me into a hug before whispering something, "It's the first time she gave a real smile in a while. Don't let her go again Aiden, she deserves the best and so do you. You'll get to know everything really soon, just be prepared to face some reality cause it's going to be hard and maybe it's time for you to prove that you're going to be there for her. Take care of her," he backs off with a smile and I just nod and he walks out of the room.

I look at Bree who's starting to fall asleep and sigh when a yawn escapes my lips. I can think of what Ricky said tomorrow but first, I need some sleep and a fresh mind. I lean forward and kiss Bree's forehead, "Good night baby doll. I love you,"

She opens her eyes a little and clutches my hand, "Are you going to leave me again?" She asks with tired eyes but as if she could break down.

"Not in a hundred years baby, just prepare yourself to bear me for the rest of your life even if you don't want to," I smile at her and she closes the gap between our lips, kissing me for a mere second before she falls back hissing in pain as her neck hurts.

"Stay still and stop hurting yourself, I know I'm irresistible but I think you can wait,"

"Aiden, there's something really important for you to know and maybe you'll change your mind after that. You're breaking my walls all over again and I know you really want me back but you need to know that I'm not the same person anymore. M-Maybe you can't fix things with me as you think you can. I don't want you to suffer as I did and if you want to leave, please leave now than after everything ends. When I tell you what happened, it's not going to be easy at all cause even if you didn't know it, everything still revolved around you." Her eyes scream fear as I look stare back at her absorbing every word she said.

"You know you me inside out baby doll and I'm not going to ever leave your side even at the worst situations. Trust me this time and I promise, I won't let you down ever again. And don't worry about me suffering, everything's going to be alright as long as you're with me."
