"Leaving her has been my biggest mistake and now I live each day with regret cause I never loved or never can love anyone as much as I love her,"

Aiden's pov.

"Mr. Waters you've got a meeting to attend in the evening at four pm," my secretary says.

It's been six years since I moved to London because of my father and I never had the courage to go back.

"Okay and did you speak to Mr. Collins about our meeting tomorrow? "I ask .

"Yeah I did that," he says and I nod.

"Alright thank you Mr. McCallister, "I say and he nods, leaving my office .

I go through my mails , answering the important ones.

Being the most successful man in his twenties didn't help me forget the mistakes I did cause they live within me and I was the one who made the wrong choices or the right one, keeping only one person in mind who is my father.

It wasn't his mistake though , he didn't know how happy I was till the second he confessed about him fighting cancer.

No matter what happens now , she's not going to come back. I see her in the news almost everyday as the most successful woman in her twenties.

She moved on and she's successful which made me happy. Sometimes I wish that I could go back in time and make things right but that's impossible.

We live in the same country and same city but that wouldn't change that she hates me.

Alright enough of thinking about her. Concentrate on your fucking work Aiden.

I tell myself and get back to my work. I need a coffee. What's fucking wrong with me today?

Why am I thinking about her so much ?

Can't my stupid head just get it ? She's gone.

"Can you send in a coffee?" I ask over the phone and drop the call as the lady says yes.

I take a deep breath before going through the files my secretary gave me.

Yeah I was successful at work but it definitely wasn't what I chose.

A lady enters my room and places the coffee on my table. I thank her and she leaves.

A knock on the door interrupts me while reading the documents.

"Come in," I say and close the files keeping them aside.

It was my partner , Cole Grayson. He takes a seat with a smile.

"We're finally getting done with our project with Mr. Collins," he says with huge smile plastered on his face.

"Yeah finally . This was our longest project this so far," I say agreeing with him and smile.

"We've got a tough competition with the Adams ," he says and I go back to my serious mode.

"Umm....Yeah," I say trying to divert my mind.

"I've got to agree that the woman looks way too sexy to be in this field, " he says and I clench my fist under my desk.

Hell yeah he was talking about her. I was sure I would have smacked his face if it wasn't Cole.

Trying to divert the topic, I say "Cole we've got a meeting to attend post lunch,".

"Yeah McCallister told me," he says and I nod.

"I'm going home for lunch today. Are you tagging along?" I ask him.

"No, I'm taking Melissa out for lunch," he says and nod. Melissa is his girlfriend.

I look at the time and realise it 12:30 pm already. Time to go home.

"I think it's better we move so that we're back on time for the meeting," Cole says and I nod with a smile.

"I'll meet you at three thirty," I say and stand up to leave.

"Cole don't forget to get our project file while coming," I remind he and he nods before leaving my office.

I take off my tie and open the button before leaving my office. Mr. McCallister comes up to me immediately .

"Mr. Waters we've been getting calls for a new deal since yesterday and I've been telling them that you're busy but don't you think it's time we decide on a deal?" He asks me.

"Yeah you're right and I'll talk about it with Mr. Grayson today," I say and he nods .

I walk out of my building and get into my car all the people around me. I don't understand when I turned this heartless that I don't even reply to my employees sometimes.

Maybe I do know when I turned heartless .

I get into my car and start driving, I wasn't in a mood to let my driver drive me home. My bodyguard was following me in another car right behind me.

Why did everything today remind me of her?

I can't ignore my thoughts about her even though I knew that I was the one who broke the promise and it's time to move on which I'm not sure about.

I take a turn that leads me to my mansion. I roll my eyes when I think mansion .

I open the gates of my house with the automated remote and close them as I drive in.

I park my car in the garage and my bodyguard follows.

I step out of the car and even out my suit before I start walking towards the front door.

I ring the bell and our maid opens the door.

"Aiden you're back," my mom greets greets me with a smile which I return.

I did smile but no one knows the sadness behind it.

"Hey mom," I say before heading towards my room.

I enter my room and decide on having a shower.

Why couldn't I just move on like she did even after six years?

After fifteen minutes of standing under the shower, I wrap a towel around my waist and walk out.

I put on a grey t-shirt and shorts before heading downstairs for lunch.

I walk down the stairs and look at my mom sitting alone at the dinning table.

My dad died a year ago and my mom had been sad ever since. I was broken myself for months even though we knew he was dying soon.

I sit down next to my mom and she looks at me with a smile. I'm glad she's better now.

Our maid serves us food and leaves the dinning room.

We eat in silence and I relax a little.

We finish eating and leave the dining room.

"Mom what's on your mind?" I ask her. She's never this silent.

"I'm just thinking about you Aiden," she tells me and I look at her confused.

"It's time you move on in your life Aiden," she says and I immediately regret even starting this conversation.

"Mom I'm not having this conversation with you," I say shaking my head.

"Alright, " she says and I storm out of the living room.

Maybe she's right but I can't move on cause I'm stuck with the memories I had with her.

I know that Bree hates me now and I can't face her. Maybe moving on is not my choice after all.
