★Ethan's POV★

As I left Gunner's place I began to remember how my hatred developed.

I was having a rough time at home. Everyone and everything irritated me. I snapped at anyone, not minding who it was. I simply stopped caring...

The only person I cared for was Scarlett; my girlfriend.

"You're not going anywhere today!" My mom yelled as I picked my keys.

"Sorry for you mom, I have a lot planned" I said.

"Then you'll have to cancel cos you're not going anywhere" She yelled.

"What exactly is your problem Sandra" I screamed at my mom.

"Young man you won't dare disobey me! When did we become mates?"

"Oh please! Enough with the drama mom" I said and picked my keys. As I turned around to pick my car keys...

She was holding it.

"Walk to where ever you want to walk to" She said.

"I don't know what your deal is"

"Are you referring to me?"

"Who else is here Sandra"

*Slaps him twice*

"I am your mother and you will listen to me" She commanded.

"You are responsible for all the misfortunes-"

Still holding my face.

"Yes, I'm the imperfection in your life, the reason you are miserable, the reason your good for nothing husband left you, the reason you didn't finish college, the reason you decided to go sleeping around, come on mom! Don't look at me that way" I said mockingly.

"Blame me as usual! Blame me!" I screamed

I turned backwards heading for the door so she won't see the tears in my eyes.

"Yes, I blame you worthless..." She mumured but I was out of the house before I could hear everything she had to say.

The tears kept flowing as I walked to Scarlett's house, she was the only one fully aware of what was going on. She was the only one that knew how useless and wasteful my mother made me feel.

I remember when she once said I was just a pest sent to the world to steal oxygen space cos I wasn't worth living.

She has said so many hurtful things to me.

'Why are you still alive'

'God must've been in a hurry to make you cos he forgot to add a brain'

'You're working out? Do you want to beat me? Even if you worked out for a billion years you cannot work and earn a dollar'

'Im very sure you're dating my son based on pity'

'My useless son? Well... Welcome... Come in Scarlett'

'Hahaha, you must be kidding, 1st position? He probably stole it the way he stole my peace and happiness'

'It'll be best for you... He's a man whore... Your girlfriends are at risk'

Scarlett was the only one who understood me. I could never tell Ash or Gunner.

I brought out my extra key and opened the door. Scar said she was at home today if my mom tried anything.

She must still be asleep.

Maybe I should go back, it'll be wrong of me to wake her up just for her to listen to my problems and console me.

But I heard voices. She was awake.
As I got closer to her bedroom.

"You know I love you right?"

"Yeah, I love you too. What do we do about Ethan?" Scar asked.

"We can't keep sneaking around" She said

"Don't worry about Ethan, I've got it all planned. So do you want to see what I got you for our 3rd month anniversary?" He asked.

"Gunner.... I didn't know you'd get something. You're so nice. I wanna see" She said happily.

I could imagine the smile on her face as she stared at him.

I walked carefully to the door but her cat; Mr. Snuggles jumped on me causing me to shriek.

She came out with a crop top hoodie and underwear.

Underwear?!

She told me she'd never let a guy see her in her underwear unless she was going to marry him.

"Ethan..."

Gunner came out smirking but as soon as he saw me he looked away then went into her room.

"Why are you here?" She asked as shock was evident in her voice.

"I should leave" I said before she could say another word.

"E. I can explain"

No answer.

"Its not what it looks like E."

No answer

"E. Listen to me" She said shaking me.

I held the door knob. Then I looked back.

"For you, its Ethan. You don't get to call me E." I said and walked out.

3 months...

But we've been together for 4 months.

Then it hit me...

One Saturday, on our one month anniversary. I took Scar to the movies with my friends. When she shook Gunner...

"I can see sparks all over the place." Ash said.

I kept on walking till I got to the beach, sat down and drowned myself in my tears.
