The leaves rustled amongst the trees as they flowed gently towards the ground. Gray clouds looming in the sky. The silence of the forest was soothing and peaceful. The silence was interrupted by the crunching of leaves. Bushy tails of many colors waved around. Their pointed snouts high in the air as their eyes darted everywhere. The leader stopped in her tracks, sniffing at the air to uncover any prey or predator. Her ear twitched at the small clattering of sprinkling rain, the spark of lightning flashed. Foxes yelped, looking at their leader with pleading eyes to escape the weather. The lead fox nodded and dashed through the forests, her pack close on her tail. She looked around for shelter. She spotted a cave, that would be enough! She signaled her pack to stop, sniffing for any animal or thing that could inflict harm among her followers.

After no evidence of a harmful thing, she led her group into the cave. The rain clinging to her fur, as she looked around to take the role. She counted her packmates, sadly being reminded that Orchid had passed right before they abandoned the camp. Orchid has been a sickly but loving mother towards her 2-week cub. The pack leader widened her eyes in realization. That cub wasn't present.
