Chapter 24
~Whisper~
The pack of foxes led by our trio strutted through the forest, stopping for drinks once in a bit. I ran my tongue over my teeth, cleaning my mouth from any extra pools of water. Jay smiles at me.
"Ready?" the gray fox asked. I nod at him as he flashes me a grin.
"Perfect." Jay chirped, I follow the deputy as he assembles the group.
"Let's go." he hollers. The foxes join him as he marches through the forest. Taking a glance towards the sun.
"four paws until moonup," he mumbled to himself as he trekked through the woods, Sunpack, and Ice on his tail.
"Awe, is little Jay talking to himself?" I cooed mockingly. He scoffed at my behavior.
"Is Whispy-Whisper being annoying?" he shot back with charm, I smirked at my friend. We continued to walk.
"When it is two paws to moonup we will set camp for the night," Jay confirmed, his followers called their agreements, formation breaking as they created hunting parties. I joined Joy and Jay.
"Hey." I greeted, Jay and Joy repeated. Jay glanced at me with his hazel eyes.
"Our territory is near the section of the mountain." Jay pointed out as he gestured to a rocky section of the mountain with his paw.
"We'll see over here." he dragged his paw to where we were facing the mountain. His eyes glittered with worry for a split second, going back go normal.
"With no run-ins with bald pelts, assassins or anything that can stop us on our way, I'd say we'd make it in three-fourths of a moon." He indicated, looking at us. Joy and I nod.
"Agreed." Joy adds. Jay flashes us a determined glance. We pat on the dirt, laying ourselves down as we were brought into the clutches of sleep.

A leaf blew on my nose, I huff. The leaf now gliding to the ground. Wind snatched it from its resting place more leaves to join as they swirled in the air.
"Gah, what now?" I complained as I stepped forward to investigate. I tipped my snout up at the swirling air, pressing my lips into a frown.
"Hey Whisper." a voice greeted nearby. I trott over towwards the sound, Joy and Jay facing a group of trees. Each displaying a different variety of leaves, one with a rich orange color, an amber color, a minty color and one tree with white leaves.
Jay glanced towards the trees.
"Look, what if each tree stands of the packs?" He pointed out.
"I could see that." I reply to the deputy.
"The orange is for Firepack, amber for Sunpack, the green for Leafpack and lastly, white leaves for Frostpack." The gray fox infered. I nod along with Joy. Jay steps back to get a better view, swishing up a pile of dead leaves in the process. The wind carries the leaves as they whirl around the trees. The Leafpack tree gave in first, crashing down onto Sunpack's tree, the leaves scattering on the ground as the trees landed with a thud.
The air stilled, no breeze brushing past the trees and to our trio. Leaves from Frostpack's tree twindled down, no wind blowing. The white leaf landing softly on Frostpack's root. The Firepack tree fell with a thud, causing Frostpack to fall. A whisper whistles in my ear. My eyes widen as the three of us whip around to be met with a set of leafy eyes. I yelp back in surprise, stumbling back to catch my balance. Joy's soft fur comes into contact with mine as she hauls me back onto my paws. I smile at her before returning my attention to the fox.
"Moon." Jay breathed, reaching forward to the She. His paw went through her, like a force that was never there to begin with. Moon's eyes were again emotionless and empty, she spoke in a whisper.
"Four packs, finally four packs in all
If one gives in, each will fall
Face and don't back down against the pain
To finally achieve The Silver Flame." Moon riddled. She slowly turned around and sauntered away, soon enveloped by leaves to disappear. Silence hung in the air. My ear flicked, what could that mean?
"The trees!" Joy exclaimed causing me and Jay to jump, she shot us an apologetic glance.
"The trees, Jay explained that they all represented the pack. The wind, or weather caused by Jay came by and swept up some leaves. The force was gentle but knocked over Leafpack's tree, that caused Sunpack's tree to fall. That left Firepack and Frostpack.
When Frostpack's leaf came into contact with Firepack's tree, Firepack fell down. The impact of Firepack's tree caused Frostpack's tree to fall. If one of the packs fall, than the others will fall and well." Joy finished. My eyes were wide at the end of her speech.
"Brilliant." I mumble under my breath. Jay nods slowly as he brings the information in.
"We must stay strong."

I was slowly released from my sleep, yawning as I prodded Joy. She lazily opened one, amber eye.
"Did you get that tree dream?" I ask her, cocking my head, she smacked her lips.
"Yeah." She sleepily grumbled.
"Me too." Jay's voice says, he treks towards Joy and I, weaving around the exhausted, sleepy Wunpack foxes. He drops a plump thrush and a mouse at our paws.
"Intense." The deputy describes.
"Four packs, finally four packs in all
If one gives in, each will fall
Face and don't back down against the pain
To finally achieve The Silver Flame." We chided altogether.
"Is that some sort of riddle?" A dappled gray fox inquired, his green eyes boring into our skulls. Fierce but kind.
"Silver!" Jay greeted.
"I guess, we share prophesied dreams sometimes." Joy explained to the Sunpack deputy. His tail whipped in curiosity.
"Wait."
We all turn our gaze to Jay.
"In our dream, I stepped on a pile of leaves. That caused the trees to fall. The trees represent the packs on the leaves, the leaves were dead. Who stands of the dead leaves and what threat do they hold against us?"
