Avery Pov:
I woke up to my lungs burning. I jumped right out of my bed, getting tangled in the blanket and landing on the floor and hitting my head.
I groan and look up and watch as fire began licking up my bedroom walls peeling the wallpaper.
I immediately untangled myself and stood up, I raced to my door and kicked it down.
The house was on fire! I ran as fast as I could to lillies room, (Again) I kicked down the door to find Lilly coughing in the corner away from the flames.

I covered my mouth with my sleeve and ran straight for Lilly. She looked up at me and immediately wrapped herself around my waist. I used my free hand to steady her and raced down the stairs.

As I reached the front door part of the ceiling fell and burnt part of my leg. I shrieked in pain but quickly turned around and raced for the back door. Luckily no flames had reached it yet. I kicked it down and raced for the forest.

When I reached the tree line I looked back to see one half of my house had fallen. Luckily I had made it out or we might be dead right now.

As I walked through the forest, Lilly had eventually fallen asleep in my arms.
So after about 2-3 hours later we came upon a small meadow surrounded by trees with a small stream, I laid Lilly down by a tree next to the stream and bent down to drink, soon Lilly woke up and joined me, we were both rehydrated and we had calmed down somewhat.

"Oh my gosh, AVERY YOUR LEG" she half shouted at me.

I immediately looked down to see half my leg was burned, I winced at the pain. Slowly I lowered my leg to the shimmering, but cold, water.
I pulled back from the cold, immediately hissing at myself and regretting it, as pain shot up my leg. Again I tried lowering my leg to the water ignoring the cold. I winced as my leg started to sting, I tried to hold back tears so Lilly wouldn't see me, I lent over Lilly and grabbed a bandage from Lilliana's bag.

Soon nightfall came and I had made a small shelter for Lilly and I to sleep in. For dinner I had managed to fish some salmon and trout from the stream.

After our supposed dinner, Lilly fell asleep quite quickly and I was left to think of what to do next.

Roughly, 30 minutes had pasted and I had begun to let myself fall asleep, when a quite large fox emerged from a trees shadow. It hesitantly walked over to the stream looking left and right. As I watched I suddenly found myself grabbing an apple from my bag. I looked over at the fox and saw that it hadn't spotted me yet.While I grabbed the apple I grabbed a granola bar, sandwich and some biscuits as well. I slowly approached the fox, when suddenly it's ears started to twitch in different directions. I stopped not wanting to be attacked or bitten. As it slowly turned around I could see it had teal and golden flecked eyes. They were beautiful. After staring into each other's eyes I slowly laid the food infront of me gesturing for it to eat. It tilted its head sideways and slowly walked over sniffing the food. I watched in wonder as it ate the food.

After a while it turned back to me. It smiled at me. I wondered if I had imagined it. As I continued to watch the fox it had sat down and was licking its paws.

"Thank you" my eyes opened in shock.

"D-Did you j-just talk??"

"Yes my name is melody" omg omg omg I was going to have a heart attack

"oh please do not fear I will not hurt you"

"How do I know that?!"

"You don't you just have to trust me"

"o-ok" I yelped as melody jumped right into my chest. My vision started to fade and I passed out.
