~Y/n pov~

Mereoleona broke down the door for our base and told us she was here for those who passed the exam.

She grabbed Asta, Luck, Noelle and I as Magna sulked because he didn't pass.

They were all making a racket and yelling at Mereoleona.

"You'd better not crap your pants when you come back and I'm way stronger than you!" Magna yelled at Luck before we left.

We were given special robes and put into teams.

I was with Noelle, Luck, Kirsch and some dude called Ben.

Mereoleona had split us into groups and sent us in from different entrances.

I ran beside Noelle, defeating anyone who got in our way.

We had trained so much for this so it was easy to take out all the underlings.

The real problem would be Licht and Rhya.

There might be more powerful people nearer to the centre and higher up too but we've trained for this.

Luck laughed as he jumped around and zapped people with lightning.

We were nearing the centre as we almost effortlessly defeated the members of the Eye of the Midnight Sun.

Then all of a sudden, There was this gold light that surround Luck.

"What's happening?" I asked as Luck stared at it in confusion.

Noelle frowned and shuffled behind me, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Luck was silent.

I noticed red marking appeared on his cheek and his ears turned pointed.

He looks like an elf...

Their magical power has increased immensely.

"You have as much magic as Vetto." Noelle exclaimed, "How?"

"I've made it back." Luck smirked.

What did that mean?

It didn't seem like it was him.

"This is in the way." Luck pulled off his robe and walked towards us.

Noelle frowned, "Luck, what is this about?"

"I don't think that's Luck." I responded.

"What do you mean?"

"The ears, the magic, the markings... something has to have happened but I'm not sure what."

Noelle nodded.

Luck blasted some lightning and it whizzed right past Noelle's face and created a hole in the building.

"Whoops. It's been so long that I missed." Luck stated, "Let's try that again."

I was worried about the lightning hitting me as it didn't have as much effect but I was worried about Noelle.

"Cherry blossom magic: magic cherry blossom storm of petals." Kirsch created a huge barrier to block Luck's next spell, "He's coming!"

"Water creation magic: sea dragon's lair!" Noelle yelled as she created a ball of water around us.

Luck came flying through the barrier and into the water.

He darted in and out a few times.

He's toying with us.

There was a huge explosion and it looked like people were fighting in the sky.

I could only see the sky because a huge chunk of the building was blown up.

Taking this chance, I grabbed Noelle and Kirsch and took this opportunity to escape with Luck was distracted.

We made it back down to where we were stood earlier when Mereoleona told us about her strategy.

After a few moments, a few others arrived too.

I'm assuming the others have been reincarnated as elves.

That's what Yuno told me had happened.

He also seemed to be an elf but he kept his personality so he basically just had a mana boost.

"I'm gonna recover some stamina with these herbs!" Asta yelled while stuffing his face with them, "Here have some."

Mimosa accepted them.

"You can't be serious." Yuno deadpanned, "You're not supposed to eat those raw."

Nozel held something out near the three and this green barrier formed around them.

"It's a magic item that explosively heightens your body's natural healing ability." Nozel explained.

"Thank you so much!" Asta yelled as Nozel just ignored him and walked away.

It seemed like Asta finally noticed Noelle and I.

"Noelle! Y/n! You're okay." Asta sighed in relief, "Where are the others?"

"Luck was one of the people who got reincarnated and they've all ran off. Probably heading towards the capital." I furrowed my brows in thought, "We should go after them quickly."

"The same happened to us with Klaus and Hamon." Mimosa added.

"Same as Rill and the others."

Yuno sighed, "They're so pathetic."

Noelle stared at him in shock, "Look at you! Are you okay?!"

"I'm perfectly fine. I'm overflowing with magic right now." Yuno told her casually, "Oh, fine, I'll explain it to you."

"Who do you think you are? I'm royalty."

I sighed as I watched them argue.

After a few moments I decided to step in, "I think we have bigger priorities right now."

Noelle turned to me in shock.

Did she forget I was here?

She averted her gaze and blushed in embarrassment, "Of course. I was just making sure he knew his place."

"Sure."

She pouted at me.

I gently ruffled her hair as she smiled happily.

"Me too." Yuno huffed.

I stepped towards him and brought him into a tight hug.

He returned it, resting his head on mine.

I reached up no gently ruffled his hair too.

"I want a hug too." Noelle pulled me into a hug.

She normally isn't that bold.

It's probably because Yuno's here.

I noticed her face had turned bright red as she shoved it in my neck so I wouldn't see but I had already seen her blush.

"We need to go." Nozel announced as Noelle reluctantly pulled away from me.

He created a platform of mercury for us to stand on.

"Our hometown! We need to save them." Asta exclaimed.

I looked down and my eyes widened at the sight.

"Do what you want." Nozel replied.

Elves were attacking Hage. I didn't think they'd attack places further out I thought they'd all head for the capital.

I guess they are taking them out on the way.

I won't let them.

Yuno nodded as we made eye contact.

It was like we were silently communicating.

He created a bird out of wind and we both hopped on.

Asta just jumped.

Lots of the villagers were laid on the floor with purple spots.

Poison.

I quickly jumped in front of Sister Lily and deflected the blow using lightning to send it back.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She smiled weakly, "Y/n!"

Yuno landed beside me.

"Yuno!"

Asta came flying down with his sword and whacked the man in the face, "Take this!"

"Asta!"

Yuno and I combined our magic to created and whirlwind and directed it straight at the elves.

It knocked them straight out.

It was easy, especially with Yuno's increased magic.

We had defeated them but majority of the villagers were still poisoned.

Father Orsi was one of the people who were poisoned.

Sister Lily and the other kids are okay.

But isn't there something we can do about the others...

"Asta, do you have a sword that would work?" I asked.

Asta's head snapped up and his eyes widened in realisation.

He pulled a sword out of his grimoire.

It was one I'd never seen before.

It had this purple aura.

Asta panted as he fell to the ground.

It seems like he can't control it.

Asta took a few deep breath and managed to raise the sword.

He then held it up high in the air.

There were these waves coming off the villagers and the sword absorbed all the poison.

We had done it. We saved the village.

I smiled to myself.

I noticed Luck attacking Magna and Vanessa.

"Look, down there." I pointed gaining Asta's attention.

Asta nodded determinedly and jumped down.

"Let's meet at the capital, Yuno." I told him before jumping off.

He nodded.

I used a small burst of lightning to cushion my fall.

"Asta! Y/n!" Vanessa yelled.

Luck was strangling Magna.

"Why the hell are you crying?" Magna asked in a weak voice.

Luck was smiling and laughing like a maniac but tears were running down his cheeks, "Acting like someone you're not... I know you're still in there, Luck!"

Luck stared at him silently.

Asta ran towards Luck and swung his sword.

That made his release Magna.

Magna coughed weakly and tried to catch him breath.

"Who the hell are you?" Luck asked.

"We're Luck's friends!" Asta yelled.

"Friends, eh? You're all getting on my nerves." Luck smirked confidently.

"Give Luck back!" Asta yelled, charging back towards Luck.

He managed to pin Luck down with the heavy sword.

Asta's demonic mode helped him in the fight and he managed to keep up with Luck's amazing speed.

Luck smiled weakly when he realised he had lost.

Another tear ran down his cheek as the effects wore off.

That elf could finally rest in peace now.

Asta backed away allowing Luck to stand up.

"I'm still one of the Black Bulls, right?" Luck started ugly crying.

Magna was the first to talk, "Of course, dumbass."

He pulled Luck into a hug.

Luck cried loudly.

Magna let go off him and Luck came rushing towards me.

I opened my arms so he could jump into them.

He buried his face into my shoulder as he continued to cry.

His hands clutched the back of my shirt tightly.

I rubbed his back soothingly and ran my other hand through his hair.

I placed my lips next to his ear and whispered words of comfort as he cried.

He eventually calmed down but stayed snuggled up in my arms.

"Ah! We need to go!" Asta exclaimed.

He had been talking to Magna and Vanessa.

That's right.. we need to go to the capital.

The rest of the Black Bulls came and picked us up in the base which was now a Bull.

We also met someone called Henry.

He's the one who controls the building.

I thought the building was weird and there must be someone doing it.

No building moves it's layout around on its own.

Charmy beamed when she saw me and made herself comfortable on my lap as we charged towards the capital.

She gave us all food that replenished our mana.

We arrived at the capital and saw the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base.

It was hovering midair and looked like it had been turned on it's side.

I couldn't make out what was on top of it but there seemed to be a lot of people.

Stood at the edge I saw Gauche and Marie.

They were both being possessed.

After a lengthy battle we managed to bring them back to their senses.

Luckily, we had Charmy's food to replenish our mana.

I was unsure if we were even going to win at one point but we did it.

Everyone glomped Gauche and then we got stuck in Charmy's magic.

Gauche glared at everyone who tried to hug him and pushed them off.

"I'm glad you're okay." I told him.

I saw him lips twitch up into a slight smile.

We finally get released from Charmy's magic.

I smiled and gave Gauche a hand up.

He took it and then pulled me into a hug.

"I'm glad you're okay." He told me.

He rested his head on top of mine and just held me for a few seconds.

Now that that's over... now there's something else we must do.

I turned to look at the weird looking orb in the sky.

That palace or whatever.

We need to make it go away.

Or else it's the end for us.

I sighed.

I wish we could finally get some peace but of course we can't.

A/n I decided not to write about the exams since that bit is boring to write about and will probably be boring to read. I worked on this chapter for like 4 hours Oml.
