Chapter 50: The issues before us
Jimin walked up to the gates of his parent's in silences as he gazed at the small camera and voice box to speak into as soon as he gets ringed in by his parents. Jimin couldn't remember the last time his family lived in such a beautiful place like this... It was enough to make Jimin happy that they were sitting on thrones. But to Jungkook, he didn't think it was fair that Jimin lived a life he didn't want while his parents told him to stick to something he doesn't love so they could just sit on their thrones of gold with a smile while Jimin's face carried a masked one.
Jimin pressed down on the button once and cleared his throat as he looked up at the security camera. Waiting for their answer. Just then, Jimin heard the voice of his Mother and smiled. It's been a while he last seen them. The last time he talked to them face to face was when it was the holidays a long time back. The rest of their conversations were just on the phone time to time since they too were busy.
"Hello?"
"O-Oh Mother! It's me, Jimin!" Jimin said happily as he looked at the security camera and could hear his Mother grow excited. Allowing the gates that blocked the whole entry to the house, open and welcome her son in.
"You finally come to visit us! Ah, please come in!" Mrs. Park added as she opened the gate door for her son. Jimin looked back at the younger and made sure he followed along as they decided to step in and walk together to the beautiful house. Jimin looked ahead and could see his mother open one of the big double doors. She was decorated with beautiful pearls, a long white fur coat, olive colored blouse and a matching pencil skirt while her hair was tied into a bun and held up with a white tiger broche.
Jimin hated that his family just looked this wealthy and looked like hard workers, but they only did this by striking a deal that dragged Jimin to the center. However, the man felt a bit bad about him not letting his parents live the life they dreamt of and that is to be treated like a King and Queen.
Jungkook gazed at the woman and suddenly, a calico cat strolled out of the house and stretched it's paws out while it licked the fur on it's paw gently. Making Jimin smile as he looked back at Jungkook. "They have a cat!" Jimin giggled as Jungkook patted Jimin's shoulder.
"Focus..." Jungkook whispered as Jimin took a moment and nodded his head while he looked around the front yard to see the yard was almost like a garden with herbs shaped into figures of hearts or even a queen from the dynasty era.
"Finally you're here! I've been wondering when you'd show up, but I didn't want to call and bother since I know you are a busy Biologist! Travelling and researching." Mrs. Park added as the cat walked over to Jungkook and rubbed it's fur around the boy's timberlands and the pair of his black skinny jeans. Jungkook smiled at the cat and this brought the attention of Mrs. Park. "And what is your name?"
"Hello, My name is Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook introduced himself and bowed after, making the woman smile.
"You are very handsome! Yet your name sounds so familiar, please come in!" The woman added as she took off he fur coat and allowed the two in while they walked into the house and closed the door behind them.
"He's a freind from high school." Jimin added and this made Mrs. Park nod her head while they made their way to the big living room where cieling lights were punctured through each hole of the ceiling, filling the room with light, showing the big and wide, red couches, white rugs, a huge television, a cat bed by the glass divider doors to the backyard where there was a huge pool, a hot tub and admirable red roses from pink to even white!
"I see, you must have mentioned him before... Anyways, where is your wife, Yun-se?" Mrs. Park asked as Jungkook cleared his throat.
"She's with her parents for the day. I'll be going off to Mexico tomorrow with Jungkook and my team for research." Jimin mentioned.
"Oh, that's very good! But you should have brought Yun-se here. She only came here not too long ago to check if you were here. That was around a day after your birthday I believe?" Mrs. Park said as Jungkook smirked while he looked at Jimin.
"I was at a friends house. I got drunk but I made it up to her and we went to a restaurant!" Jimin claimed. Trying to sound happy, but he knew that night was a mess.
"Ah, I see. Well, Jeon Jungkook. What do you do for a living?"
"Oh! I work as a host or waiter at a restaurant, I still go to college and I'm hoping for a bachelor's degree on Marine Biology. I only work with Jimin since I'm an intern at the moment."
"Oh you must be going through so much stress! You poor thing. Don't worry, I'll make you both some tea. Would you like some?" The kind woman asked as the two just couldn't say no.
"Thank you, Mother." Jimin thanked Mrs. Park as he watched his Mother walk into a big kitchen with a wide window along the center so she could see through the living room. Jimin then felt the cat jump onto his thighs and this made the man flinch as he gazed back at the small calico cat on him.
Jimin then held up the cat and played with the cat's small paws. "Mother, when did you get a cat?"
"That is your Brother's cat he found the other day on his campus." Mrs. Park told Jimin as he looked down at the cat and read the name on the collar that spelled, 'Muffin.'
"Awe... Such a cute name for a beautiful cat~" Jimin giggled as he looked at Jungkook, leaning in to whisper to the younger. "Jungkook, when we live together... Can we have our own calico cat?"
"What's wrong with any other cat?" Jungkook asked in return and this made Jimin shake his head cutely.
"A calico cat! They are adorable~" Jimin whispered and this made Jungkook smile and nod his head.
"Spoiled~" Jungkook replied and stretched to have an excuse to put his arm around his lover's back part of the couch where Jimin sat. "But of course, I must give my princess the world." The boy flirted with a whisper, making Jimin lightly kick Jungkook's leg while they awaited for the tea to be brewed.
After a minute, the Mother returned with a tray of three cups of tea while she served the guests and went to sit down on a one seated couch, setting her tray down after. "Ah, Jimin, your Father will be here soon. He must be stuck in traffic." The Mother added as Jungkook figured Jimin was waiting on his Father to arrive so he could start touching onto the subject, but it made no excuse for the man to hesitate now since they had the Mother's full attention.
Jungkook slowly guided his hand down Jimin's back, making the man sit up and tilt his head and pretend he was trying to stretch out a knot. Jimin caught the signs that his lover was trying to tell him, that now would be a perfect time to slowly talk about the topic. Jimin set the tea down the cat tried to lick out of, and held Muffin in his arms.
"Mother, how do you know you want to stay in a marriage?" Jimin asked as Mrs. Park cleared her throat as she held the handle of the tea cup and looked at Jimin.
"Excuse me?" Mrs. Park asked as Jungkook felt like letting out a chuckle.
"I could see where he gets it from." Jungkook thought as he looked at the small cat laying down on Jimin's lap.
"It's just a question, Mother! I always wondered how you maintained something with Father for soo long!" Jimin lied and tried to use his parents as an example.
"Well? We love eachother just as much as you love Yun-se and Jungkook loves his own girlfriend. That's if you have one." Mrs. Park added as Jungkook rose a brow.
"Oh FUCK NO!... Why does she assume I'm straight?! I fucked your son! Ugh, this really shows a lot about her since she did say she loves her husband as much as Jimin 'loves' Yun-se." Jungkook thought in his head which only felt like screams now while on the outside, he held a blank face and moved the tea around in his cup before taking a sip.
"If... There's things between you two, like that love disappears, what do you do? Would you keep working on it?" Jimin asked as Mrs. Park tried not to question this and thought maybe Jimin was asking for just in case something like this happens in between his marriage. In her mind, the marriage was perfectly fine. But she never knew the only thing between Jimin's marriage was no other than a real feeling of love Jimin was blindfolded by and it wasn't pulled down until his prince charming came to his rescue.
"Yes I would. Because this love is a powerful bond." Mrs. Park answered and looked at Jungkook. "Wouldn't you say so too? You do have a girlfriend, right?" Mrs. Park asked with a slight laugh from her mouth. "You are handsome, you should have found love."
Jungkook then scoffed and looked up at the woman "First of all, I'm-"
"-SINGLE! HE DOESN'T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!" Jimin shouted as Jungkook looked at Jimin in disbelief. "But please, Mother.. Focus on what I have to say. Don't pay attention to asking Jungkook questions. I just have a little questions for the future." Jimin stretched his truth and thought it was too soon to throw the gay card around like crazy. Jungkook could do it, but for Jimin, it was difficult to slowly rip off the Band-Aid.
Jungkook layed back and let off a slight huff of breath like he was going to laugh out into a scoff, yet he held in his thoughts and knew this was too special to Jimin to even jump in and ruin it for the older. The boy sat there and rolled his tongue along his inner cheek and continued to sip out of his tea silently. But just as the younger thought it couldn't get any worst, a man opened the front double doors from the house and stepped in to see Jimin having tea with Mrs. Park.
This was Mr. Park, Jimin's Father who wore a grey suit while he stepped in and had glasses on as well, they were round and silver, showing that Jimin inherited this gene from his own father. Jimin let out an exhale and started to feel nervous. Jungkook felt that the conversation was slowly about to reach to the big question and Jimin knew he couldn't sugarcoat it anymore.
Jungkook bowed to the older man as soon Mr. Park stepped up to the two and greeted Jungkook and his son after so long! "Ah, there's my loving son! Jimin, you finally come home! How's Yun-se?" Mr. Park asked, but this seemed to always push the conversation even further back and make Jimin feel extremely nervous to the point where Jungkook was starting to see Jimin slowly break down onto his knees as he filled his father in on why Yun-se wasn't here and who Jungkook was.
Knowing that soon, if Jimin's parents learn to accept and show positive and supportive signs, Jimin could say that he doesn't want to be in an arranged marriage... Rather, he could follow his heart instead and live a happy life he truly deserves.
