Trapped (L and C)
Lux and Crescent
Lux looked back, terrified realizing that Paperjam and Goth weren't right behind them. She quickly turned back to Crescent
"They're not here! Paperjam and Goth aren't here!" Lux said, terror in her voice. Crescent was shocked and responded back. "What?! Did they not walk through with us?! Damn it.. Whatever, we gotta figure out where we are. Maybe they're somewhere around here too."
Lux nodded, as the two of them ventured deeper into the unknown. Neither of them realized where they were, but they quietly sneaked around, just in case they had entered the home of someone dangerous. Lux stayed close to Crescent, she didn't enjoy the feelings she got from here. Crescent led her through, until they both heard footsteps from behind them. Crescent turned around, only to see a skeleton with pitch black eyes and black tears streaming down his face. He knew this face well, Killer, his father, he seemed a bit relieved but the sinister smile of Killer's face made him wary.
"Now now, what're you two doing, slinking around Boss's castle huh? We can't be having intruders here" Killer said with a smirk. Lux was confused for a second, but remembering this was the past, perhaps so far that Killer wouldn't know them. Thus, it makes sense why he'd identify them as intruders. Crescent remembered the stories of his parents, and was immediately ready to defend or run if Killer got any closer.
Suddenly, Killer dashed at them. Crescent grabbed Lux's wrist and began running, he knew if Killer caught them, there's no doubt they'd both be murdered. Lux and Crescent tried their best to run, but Killer was closing the distance and fast, they had to do something quick. Crescent suddenly took a turn, unsure where it'd lead them. However, this was the worst move possible, as they had mistakenly entered the kitchen, where the rest of the team was. For a quick second they all stood still. Cross, Horror, and Dust stared at them, unsure who they were. Crescent turned to run back the way he came, but Killer was already at the only exit.
"Grab them damn it! Do you want the boss to kill us if they get away?!" Killer shouted at the others, they quickly got up, grabbing Lux and Crescent. It only took Cross to hold Lux, but it took Horror and Dust to hold Crescent. The two were struggling as hard as possible, but to no avail. Cross then looked at Killer, who had been ready just in case one broke free and tried to run.
"Hey, so what are we supposed to do with them anyways? Boss isn't in the castle right now." Cross said to Killer, he would rather be eating right now but considering Killer was his 'higher up' and closer to Nightmare, he wasn't about to risk Killer tattelling for leaving halfway through. Killer thought for a second, considering he didn't know how the two younger skeletons got in, he decided it'd be best to keep them.
"Lock them up" Killer ordered, "We'll tell the boss when he gets back, he'll decide if we kill them or not." Those words struck fear into Lux's soul, the risk of being killed when they had just gotten here? This truly was a suicide mission, and she had stupidly agreed. Crescent was only showing anger, despite the fact he too was scared. He remembered the stories of how ruthless his father had been, he just hoped he could think of something before Nightmare returned.
"I'll keep watch of them.." Horror said, as him, Dust, and Cross brought the two young skeletons towards the dungeon, Crescent tried struggling on the way but that got him no where. When they finally reached the dungeon, he and Lux got shoved into a cell together. Cross left quickly, wanting nothing more to return to his meal and continue on about his day. Dust waved to Horror and left with Cross. It was now just the two young skeletons and one of their captors. Horror had only chosen to keep watch since he had already ate, and wanted the rest of the team to enjoy the meals he had made for them, he always made sure everyone was fed, including Nightmare. He stayed close by the cell, hearing the low sounds of muffled crying, he peered into the cell to see Crescent trying to comfort Lux.
"Don't worry, we'll be okay.. we'll find a way out of this" Crescent said to his worried cousin. Lux however was having none of it. She worriedly said to him "What if they starve us? Or kill us?!" Upon hearing that, Horror didn't like the first idea. He thought starvation was a horrible way to torture someone. He then spoke "I wouldn't starve you... that's bad.."
Crescent realized that Horror was showing just a tinge of kindness, and hoped he could use this to his advantage. "Really?.. Could you get us some food then? We haven't eaten in a while.." Crescent did his best to seem hungry, to get Horror to pity him. If he and Lux played their cards right, they might be able to convince Horror to let them out or convince Nightmare not to kill them. Horror saw the look on his face, and fell for the bait.
"Alright, I'll bring food for you two.." Horror then walked away. Once he was out of sight, Lux turned to look at her cousin. She said to him "What was that for? Did you really just ask him for food? I get we didn't have lunch but come on! Could you have asked for something, oh I dunno, more important?!" Crescent sighed and explained his plan. "Hear me out, Horror seems the most sympathetic, maybe we can use him and have him vouch for us so we don't get killed by my dad. If everything goes right, maybe we can convince them we're on their side and they'll free us." Lux looked at him in confusion but understood. "Well, you were always the planner.. let's just hope this works, and hope Paperjam and Goth are safe wherever they are.."
