Stranger (L and C)

Quick author's note here, if you dunno what the letters mean, it's the first letter of the characters that the chapter will focus on! So if you wanna only focus on a specfic character, switch to whatever chapter has such!

Lux and Crescent were waiting in their cell. Lux was still terrified while Crescent was bored out of his mind. He already made a plan how to get not killed. He doesn't know how to escape the castle yet, but he'll figure it out. What he really wants to figure out is where the hell is Paperjam and Goth. If they aren't in a cell yet, then they aren't in here. Only question is, then where in the multiverse are they?

Soon, Horror came back with two plates of food. He didn't want to see anyone go hungry, not even prisoners. "I got the food you two requested. Eat fast.. Boss will be here soon." He then opened the cell door to give the food to the two young skeletons inside. Once he did, he quickly went back outside and locked the cell, not wanting them to escape. He didn't want to get in trouble if they did. Crescent wasted no time, acting as if he hadn't eaten in days. He wasn't even that hungry, but it was all just a play to gain Horror's pity. Thankfully, it was working. Horror was pained to see how fast Crescent was eating, as if the poor skeleton was starving.

Lux looked at her cousin in confusion, but soon caught on, and began eating as fast as him. Horror felt even more pity for them. He was glad the other two were eating. It wasn't long before they had finished their meals. "Thank you so much for the food" Lux said, trying to be as sweet as possible. She wanted Horror to fall for it as much as one could, if that meant getting out of this situation alive. Soon, Cross walked in, "Hey Horror, we gotta bring em to Boss's office. He's intrigued and wants to meet these two before deciding to kill them or not." Horror nodded, while Lux was terrified. She vaguely remembers the stories of her uncle in the past, but not something to this degree, or she just hadn't been paying attention to the stories.

Horror nodded and opened the cell, Cross stayed nearby to help escort just in case either of the two young skeletons tried to run. Lux was hesitant, but once she saw Crescent start walking on his own to the exit of the cell, she followed. Crescent didn't put up a fight at all, that was all according to plan though. Cross and Horror began escorting them towards Nightmare's office. Lux thought about running, but Crescent held onto her wrist, he could tell she wanted to run, but it'd ruin his plan if they did.

Soon they were outside Nightmare's office, Cross let them in and shut the door behind the two. Inside was Nightmare and Killer, waiting for them. For a second this reminded of Crescent of the few times he had gotten in trouble, but considering his father's form, it just didn't feel right. Lux was absolutely terrified, she had never seen her uncle like this, only hearing stories but she assumed it was exaggerated.

"So, it seems you two snuck into my domain. Why. And who are you two? Answer quick, I don't have much patience." Nightmare demanded of them, something that bothered him was the magic he could sense from the female skeleton, it felt much too similar to his brother's magic. From the other however, it felt like his own, and he didn't know how to feel about that.

Crescent quickly started talking, to keep Lux from doing so just in case she messed up his plan. "I'm Crescent, and my associate here is Lux. You see, me and Lux were created to be like you and Dream. However, we were built a bit incorrectly. My negativity was too strong and partially corrupted Lux, so her magic is not as positive as Dream's magic. In attempt to fix this, my magic was dampened but by then it was too late." He completely bullshitted this. He used the fact that Lux's magic wasn't strong enough to his advantage. He knew Nightmare wouldn't believe him, and most likely kill both him and Lux if he told the truth.

Nightmare was cautious to believe Crescent's words. It did make sense, since there was something off about Lux's magic that set it apart from his brother's, and the magic Crescent had felt like an underdeveloped version of his own. Though he wasn't too trusting of them, he decided they're interesting enough to keep around. "Alright then." Nightmare said. "You two may stay, I told Cross earlier to wait outside the door just in case I allowed you two to live. He'll escort you two to some empty rooms here. You are not allowed to leave the castle under any circumstances. Now leave."

Lux didn't hesitate, and quickly made her way to the door. Crescent followed, glad his plan of lying had worked. Though he had one more plan, it was a long shot, but if the time they landed in was what he thought, then they may just get some leverage against one of the team members here. Cross was waiting outside the door as he was ordered to, though he much rather be doing something else right now.

"Huh, the boss didn't kill you? Well, follow me then I guess." Lux nodded as Cross began walking, leading them towards the rooms. Crescent waited till they were far enough from Nightmare's office, and at the rooms before beginning his plan. If they were in the wrong year then it'd be for nothing.

"I know what you're hiding, Cross." Crescent said confidently once they were far enough. Cross stopped in his tracks, and looked at Crescent. He knew. This young skeleton knew. How? Cross thought he had kept it a secret well enough, and this kid has barely been here for a few hours! How did he already know?!

Cross's face already told Crescent exactly what he needed to know. "You're a traitor. You use your breaks to meet up and talk to Dream, conspiring with him. You lost your trust in Nightmare and now want to switch sides but you're too afraid to actually do it, because you know Nightmare would want you dead." Crescent said, with a smug smile afterwards. He was glad that he and Lux landed during this time, because it was perfect leverage against Cross and perfect blackmail. Lux vaguely remembered this story of her Father, though understands why he had done that now.

Cross was pissed, but knew if he tried reacting, the kid probably would just scream it out. "What the fuck do you want kid? Freedom or some shit?" Cross angrily said. Crescent shook his head and said "No no, I want you to help us find our friends. If you don't, I'll tell Nightmare about what you've been doing behind his back, and you and I both know what he'll do to you"
