it has been several days since the first lie dan has ever kept from phil. and weirdly enough, he didn't feel gulity about it. he was trying not to feel it because he was trying to win over alex but he knew it was true. if he told phil that she snuck out, he would get mad at her and alex would never talk to him agian.

it was now a few weeks after this whole incident and the days before that were pretty normal and repetitive. dan would wake up with phil, phil would leave downstairs to make breakfast, then dan would follow a few sceonds after, followed by alex that would now give him a friendly closed mouth smile. when phil finished making the eggs, he would give alex a kiss on the cheek, dan a big hug and then leave. alex would strip out of her pajamas, grab her sandals and then leave without another word.

then dan would be alone.

this had been going on for so long, that it became normal to keep going with this lie. dan was thinking about asking alex why in the world would she sneak out but it might raise him to keep another secret from phil and he didn't think he could do that.

it was now a monday morning on august 5th and when dan came downstairs, alex was already dressed along with phil and they were both eating quickly.

"whats going on?" he grumbles as he wipes his eyes.

phil looks up from the pancakes he was eating. "i have to take alex to meet her teachers in a few minutes."

"i don't need to dad, i'm a senior, i've been in that school many times." she wipes her mouth and then gets up. "can i just go to movies instead?"

phil gives her a look. "you know my answer to that. dan you're welcome to go with us if you want to."

dan looks over at alex but she was busy typing frantically on her phone. "sure, i'll just go find some clothes."

"you're welcome to use mine if you want."

dan's face was red as he went back upstairs. phil was definitley being too nice and he was over here keeping a secret behind his back. he was beginning to worry when the secret would actually come out. phil would be furious.

he came back down in his own clothes. which were his black pants, shirt, and converses. phil had grabbed his keys from the table and smiled at him.

"you've never changed."

"is that a bad thing?"

"no, i like it, don't change unless you want to."

dan smiles at him and then phil puts his arm around his waist and turns him around to face him. alex was already out in the car.

phil stares down at him; just grinnng from ear to ear as he caresses his face with his hand. "so beautiful."

dan sighs and tries to pull away but phil keeps a soft grip on his hip. "what is it?"

dan's hands were placed coincidentally on his chest and he could feel where phil had gained muscle under his t-shirt over the past few years. it wasn't like he was scrawny when they were teens, but phil didn't ever go to the gym until now, and it was really paying off.

"you.....you..." dan tries to find words but they weren't coming out.

"i what?" he did the tounge in cheek thing again and dan was sure his face was like a strawberry right now.

his brain fizzed and buzzed. "kiss me."

he could tell the statement took phil off guard. hell, it took dan himself off gaurd.

"i -i -i'm sorry. i didn't mean to-"

"no it's fine." he pulls him closer. "do you really want me to kiss you?"

his breath had gone shallow. "i don't know where that came from."

phil just chuckles and his eyes slowly drop to his lips. dan's own eyes droop closed slightly as he feels his breath tickle him. dan leans in but a finger stops him and he opens his eyes to see phil shaking his head.

"i would love nothing more than to kiss you dan, believe me." phil takes his fingers off his lips but not before tracing them slowly.

"then why don't you?" dan could feel his heartbeat pick up from where his hands were on his chest but from the outside, phil kept a cool composure.

"i feel like, if i kiss you... you'll leave me again."

dan shook his head."phil that's ridiculous, i won't leave you."

"you did last time."

he looks down. "oh..."

"hey." phil hooks a finger under his chin so dan was forced to look into his powerful eyes. "let's just take this slowly okay? i need to make sure you're not going anywhere."

dan gives him a small smile. "okay."

instead, phil kisses him on his forehead. "don't worry you'll get that kiss princess."

dan's mouth fell open and phil laughs at his expression as he pulls away.

"come on, let's go before alex starts honking the horn."
