After Gamora and I got to know Irima a little more we all parted ways. And here I was on my own, wondering the palace halls, while the other Guardians where off doing who knows what. I let out a long soft sigh as I countined my way, realizing that I was now lost, and did not know how to get back to my own room.
"Are you lost?"
I turned quickly, taking my staff from my back and pointing it at the person who startled me. Of course as I did so, I see none other then Alkima, who held her hands up and smiled.
"I didn't mean to startle you, my apologies."
I frowned as I slowly lowered my staff and slipped it back onto my back.
"It seems that I am lost. These halls are long and very confusing."
"Would you like me to walk you back to your room?"
"It seems that I have no other choice."
She only smiled and beckoned for me to follow her. There was an awkward silence that filled the air and it made me very uncomfortable. I did not really know her, but she was married to my horrible brother, so I suppose that she is like him, but not really.
"Your nothing like Kino, you know." She said out of nowhere. All I did was growl and glared at her. Before she quickly waved her hands in front of her face.
"I don't mean it in a bad way!"
And again silence filled the space between us.
"It's quit nice." She spoke softly while my eyes widened and I stared at the back of her head.
"How so?"
"Well, he's firm and stern at times, but he can be very nice. Then there's you, you are a fighter, strong and fierce, you show true women power, and I admire that about you."
A small smile crossed my features as she said this.
"Answer me this, Alkima. Why are you married to a traitor like my brother?"
A small smile pled itself on her plump purple lips as her eyes shined with memories.
"Ah, well I suppose it was because he was very caring."
At this I could only scoff and shake my head.
"No he was. I know that you are upset for his disappearance, and I would be too. But what you don't know is that he's been searching for any other survivors from his home world. He made new Kimonia, because he wanted to keep his home world alive in some way."
"But this is nothing like our home world! He used one of his own people so he could escape, he is nothing but a coward!"
"In a way he is I suppose. But that doesn't make him any less. He is still your older brother, who cares deeply for you. All you are looking at is the bad side that is barley there. So I ask of you, Kiana. Give him another chance, and you can see who he truly is."
I remained silent as we stopped walking.
"Here we are."
"Thank you."
"Oh, it was nothing."
She said as I opened my door. Before she turned around.
"Oh, I almost forgot. We are having a party tomorrow to celebrate your return to Kino, and for your friends saving Xandar. Irima will help you dress for tomorrow."
And with that she left. As she did I sighed and ran my hands over my face. I hate parties, much less dressing up in general. A knock erupted my thoughts and in came Quill. I sighed as he walked in slowly.
"Hey. Did you know that their throwing us a party tomorrow?"
"I was informed of it moments ago."
He hummed in response.
"So where'd you and Gamora go?"
"The garden." I answered.
Again silence filled the room, before I decided to speak.
"Alkima thinks that I should give my brother a chance. To see his good side and to trust him."
"Really? Aren't we supposed to dethrone him or something?"
"Yes."
"Then, what're you gonna do?"
"I don't know." I breathed out as I fell upon my bed, with my head in my hands as I let out a loud sigh.
"I do not know what I am going to do."
I felt the bed sink down a little as Quill sat next to me.
"I'm not gonna push you. It's your decision. But he is your brother, the only family you got left. Maybe you should try to at least hear him out. Besides I really don't trust anything that Strato guy says."
"I suppose I could hear what he has to say. But I doubt I will care."
"See. There you go, giving new things a go."
I let out a soft chuckle as I shook my head.
"He can be a douchbag though, especially after this morning."
"Yes he was a 'douchbag'" I said as I tried to use the Terran slang, which only made Quill laugh.
"Did you just cuss?"
I only frowned.
"Sorry." He said quickly. He then got up and walked towards the door.
"Quill."
He stopped and turned around.
"Yeah."
"You guys are my family, and the only one that I need. I just thought that you should know that."
Quill smiled as he opened the door.
"Night, Kiana."
"Goodnight, Quill."
And with that he left. I sighed as I climbed under my covers, sleep then took over and my dreams filled my mind.
