Nighty Night
The children of Hephaestus built a shrine for Dames next to the camp fire—exactly the place where he died. A few campers went to Dames's "funeral". He wasn't really that friendly though, he was always grumpy and black.
But when he sacrificed himself for our camp's safety, now that was heroic. We didn't expect that, of course, I didn't even know what the hell came up his mind. Dames and I were not friends, nor enemies, we just kinda know each other.
Apollo kids sang a song about him as the color of the fire turned into dark blue, which resembles the mood of the crowd. The funeral ended as they buried Dames to somewhere I didn't know. Anyhow, I was tired and all so I went straight to my cabin and jumped on my bed.
Gods, I miss my soft and smooth blue bed. It was placed at the back part of the cabin, horizontally facing and beside the window. I was about to enter a deep sleep but something was bothering my body. I noticed that the box Glaiza gave me was still inside my pocket, glad it wasn't smashed though.
I placed it gently on the small table beside me where my lamp and private stuffs are positioned. The bed did its job and it let me rest in peace and quiet for the night.

The annoying sound of footsteps woke me up. My siblings were rushing out the cabin with confused faces and then I followed while still in my pajamas. When I got out my cabin it was, surprisingly, still in the middle of the starry night.
I checked the time on my watch—which is also a retractable bow and it was 6:30 in the morning.
Thoughts flooded in my mind. Such as: What happened to Apollo? He's the god of the sun, by the way. Did he forgot to bring up the sun or he was just extremely lazy?
We gathered inside the Amphitheater that was filled with murmurs and complains but Hypnos kids were definitely liking this. LJ, the counselor of Cabin 15 went to me. He was quite tall and skinny with an army's cut hair and tan skin.
"What's the complaints all about?" He asked angrily to me. "I was sleeping soundly in the middle of the night!"
"Uh, that's the problem. The sun should go out by now." I answered while looking at the horizon.
"I don't care, that's not a problem to me!" He answered back with excitement in his voice. "The longer the night, the longer I sleep."
"Don't be so selfish!" I shouted at him and anger washed over me but as what Hestia taught me, I calmed my self and walked out.
On the way, somebody bumped my shoulder, and it was a long black-haired and thin girl who was indeed panicking. The word sorry came out of her mouth as she blowed her bangs away from her eyes. She continued to walk and I turned to see where she was going. Her hands met LJ's as they walked out of the Amphitheater.
That was seriously shocking.
I snapped myself back to reality. I saw Chiron walking inside the Amphitheater with curls on his horse tail. Wait, what? I turned my focus to the campers who were, mostly, on their pajamas and their stuff toys while yawning.
"Attention, my dear campers!" He shouted. "You are obviously wondering why it's still night. Well, apparently, the Olympus messaged me earlier that Nyx and Hypnos were behind this phenomenon."
I heard gasps and curses mostly from the Hypnos Cabin knowing that their father was one of the beings who's responsible for this problem. Their counselor was indeed missing.
"And they're on their way to end this." He waved his hands at the sky. "I suggest you all to go back to your cabins and get comfy. You rarely have this chance to sleep longer so make the best of it."
He galloped back to the Big House and the campers followed. My drowsiness was gone and I want to know what's Nyx and Hypnos's problem. I stayed until everybody was gone then I went out.
I hid behind a bush when I heard footsteps getting nearer and nearer. Two figures, a girl and a boy, was walking past me and I overheard their conversation.
"...are you seriously gonna do it?" The girl said.
"...for the sake of our camp, yes." A familiar voice said.
"...be careful, okay?" The girl replied.
"...for you." He said and kissed the girl on the forehead.
They parted as the girl cried. It was then I noticed that the boy was LJ. I wonder what will he do? So I followed him. He didn't bring any weapons or food or anything. He was empty-handed and defenseless. Luckily, I brought my own protection.
Stars were unseen in the night sky. There was nothing else but pure darkness spread above us. He went inside the forest and I followed. I saw him fetch a gem in his pocket and it glowed brightly that I have to look away. With a single flash, he disappeared.
I waited for a couple of minutes but as time pass by, he still hadn't came back. I gave up and went inside my cabin. My siblings were asleep and snoring, I saw my empty bed at the end of the room and approached it.
I saw the box that Glaiza gave me the other day. I completely forgot about that one, so I picked it up and opened it silently, I don't wanna wake my siblings up.
The thing in the box was encased in a small chest without a lock. So I opened it and found something I didn't expect to get. It was light and shiny and smooth.
This was the thing I wanted to get months ago, but I didn't have the money to afford it. I was completely in despair. A Turquoise Ring—a ring which is blessed by Boreas which can turn water into ice.
I quickly wore it on my ring finger and tried to freeze the water in the fountain. It worked and it seems to fit me. And no, I won't gonna be Elsa from Frozen but the cold never bothered me anyway.
The thought of LJ bothered me as I fix myself to sleep. Where did he go? What will he do? Will he ever come back? Who was that girl? Will morning come? What will Phineas and Isabella's kids, if ever, look like?
I just hope things turns back to what it used to be.
