The Riddler

The sound of the bass vibrated my body, liquifying my bones and problems. The pain from then bruising of my abdomen had been replaced with the warm fluid feeling of alcohol. Numbing my senses and increasing my confidence as I threw myself around on the dance floor.

Maria was right, I loved this please already.

Bodies were pushed against each other as we all fought for a small place on the dance floor, whilst women tried to get the attention of the men they wanted, whilst the men would stand there letting the women crawl all over them, I simply wanted to dance like there was never a morning coming.

On a few occasions a man had pulled me into him by my waist hoping I'd dance with them, but I always turned and laughed before moving to another space on the dance floor.

Men. They are just drama.

Eventually, I found myself flanked across the bar, knocking back the drinks Maria kept supply, the woman was a bad influence but I loved her already.

"You good?!" She called in my ear making me nod.

"This place is amazing!"

"Welcome to Desire. Who's he?" She frowned looking to the dance floor, I twisted my head to see a man watching us.

"Probably after you. Your vixen!" I grinned.

Out of nowhere Zak appeared wrapping his arm around Maria's waist kissing her cheek. I swallowed down the jealousy of those two with a shot before turning back to the dance floor.

"Hey?!" Zak shouted to get my attention. Looking up at his talk and muscular frame I found his face.

"You go careful and if you need us.. Shout."

I saluted him with grin and took a step towards the man who's eyes hadn't left me. Grinning at my new distraction, I headed towards him when a hand landed on my arm.

My head snapped up only to find Aaron holding a look on his face, that I couldn't decipher.

"There he is! The enigma! Hey?! I'm gonna call you The Riddler. You know from Batman?" I asked shouting up to him.

He leant down making me shrink back "How much have you drank?!"

I grinned still looking at the man who's face looked like a new problem in my life. "Not nearly enough! I'm gonna go dance with Clark Kent. Bye Bye Confusing man!"

I took a step forward only to be pulled back in front of him. "How about some water?!"

"How about get off me? You're so grabby!" I answered snapping my hands in front of him like a crabs claw.

He pushed my hands out the way and fixed his eyes on mine. The stern look made me look away. "Water?" He asked.

"Drink water if you want." I retorted pulling his hand off my arm.

"Look stop being awkward! Maria said you wanted to chat! Well I'm here!" He replied gesturing to himself in front of me.

"Yeah?! Why! Why did you care to tell my boss but it care to care if I was coming here?!" I shouted before re-evaluating what I said.

Seemed good enough for me.

"Luna. I can't tell you everything-"

"Why?!"

"Because I don't let people in easy! Please just- let's talk!"

"We are!" I replied folding my arms.

Aaron's eyes raked down my body before settling on my face "You look different!"

"It's not for you!" Lie.

He simply smirked and lifted a beer to his lips taking a swig.

The man had disappeared, making me pout as I scanned the crowd for him. "Lost him?" Aaron asked with a satisfied look on his face.

"You did that on purpose. God you're so infuriating! Go away!"

"You wanted me here! So let's talk!"

"Why are you mean?! Why did you leave my house? Why have you changed? Why did you go to my boss? Why did you mess with my head? Why didn't you just leave me alone?!"

He took them all in and nodded.

His hand came up stroking my cheek gently and despite the growing temperature, I still shuddered.

"Because I can't stop myself."

I blinked waiting for him to continue but that was the big explanation, that was the big reveal of Aaron Goodwin.

"All this was for fun?! All- Go to hell! And then keep going!"  I yelled at him in pure anger before storming back to the dance floor.

Losing myself in the crowd, I found the bass working within my body again. Feeling my heart blur in the deep thuds, I closed my eyes and let the anger go before I began dancing again.

A hand snaked around my waist, rolling my head to the side, I found the man again and grinned.

"It's not right that a woman like you dances alone!" He spoke into my ear making smile.

"Well now I'm not!"

His hands held my hips and brought down the pace of my body to match his as my dancing went into grinding. Our bodies began to match in sync and his groin was shoved against my backside revealing all to well how good I was at think kind of dancing when I was yanked away.

"Hey!" I shouted but met Aaron's glare.

"What gives bro?!" The man frowned.

"I'm not your bro!" He snapped at him before returning his glare to me.

"Yo, you just gonna state she's yours man! I ain't taking anyone's lady!" The man replied holding up his hands.

"Well I am! Now back off!"

And just like that my new problem disappeared to dance with someone else.

My face twitched before I flew off the handle at him.

"JUST GO AWAY! GET OUT OF MY LIFE ALREADY!" I moved away and ended up being shoved against the wall so that I now couldn't move.

"Calm down you look ridiculous. Where the fuck is the rest of that dress and do you have any idea what he wanted to do to you?!"

I grinned "I felt exactly what he wanted to do to me. And I wanted it too!" I snarled in his face.

"No you're drunk, you're not making proper decisions. Let's take you home."

"No! No I don't want to go home! Not without him at least!" I replied trying to find him.

"I'm taking you home."

"No!" I shouted hitting my fist against his chest. "No! You don't get to tell me what to do! You don't own me!"

"Who you trying to convince? Me? Or yourself? Now move!" He ordered.

"Fuck you!"

"You leave me no choice!" He shrugged.

I screamed as I was thrown over his shoulder and was carried through the club. Pushing my head up I looked around for help but found Maria smirking beside Zak.

"H-help me! Kidnap! Abduction!" I screamed but everyone cheered and the music overpowered me.

I kicked my legs and thumped on his back trying to ignore the growing pressure of my stomach.

"AARON GOODWIN YOU PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!"

His arm fixed across the back of my thighs making me stiffen, no doubt his move was to keep my dress down so I couldn't flash the whole of Vegas.

"WHY ARE YOU SO DAMN TALL?!" I shouted hitting his back in anger as we were leaving. If I wasn't afraid of falling in my head, I would have wiggled off his back to make my escape.

The cold air hit me, stealing the oxygen from my lungs.

Gasping, I was brought down to my feet where my hands clutched his arms to steady myself as the world seemed to tilt.

"You gonna be sick?" He asked.

"No! Y-" I decided to thump him in the arm but instead hurt my wrist when I didn't lock it in properly. Yelping in pain, I whimpered moving away from his arm.

"Let me see?" He asked holding his hand out.

"No! You keep hurting me, well not anymore! I'm going hom-" I paused looking at my hands and then his before looking at the club.

"My clutch! No! My keys! My ID!"

"This clutch?" Aaron asked.

I looked at him "Yeah! It has it all inside. How am I suppose to get it back no- oh.."

He grinned at me stupidly before handing it over.

"Now can I take you home?"

"No! You've ruined my night! Just go!" I stropped storming away from him towards the taxis which were lined up waiting for customers.

Aaron caught my wrist spinning me into his chest where his mouth slammed down on mine. I went to struggle when I found the warmth and taste of his body against mine too appealing. Holding onto his shirt I opened my mouth letting his tongue find mine as he held me close to his body. I gasped for air when his mouth left mine to bite my bottom lip gently.

He's paralysed me out of fighting him. Now I didn't want to fight him.

I whined when our make our scene finished leaving me all hot and bothered by the scene.

"Can I please take you home?"

Looking at his mouth, I simply nodded.

****

"Drink this." He whispered pushing a glass of water into my hands.

"I don't want it." I mumbled as the room kept orbiting.

"You have too, otherwise you'll have a hangover and that means being sick."

"I need to be sick."

"No you don't. Please? For me?" He asked hopeful.

I groaned and sat up drinking the water until the half way point before I stopped and looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Okay sweet, lay down."

I flunked back against the bed looking at my pjs. My shorts were no doubt on back to front as the pull cord was at the back. It wasn't noticeable but at least my shirt was okay.

"Darth Vader huh?" He smirked sitting on the edge of the bed beside me.

"Aaron." I whispered holding out my hand. He intwined our fingers kissing the back of my hand.

"What's up?"

My eyes rolled open gently "Stay."

He nodded before shifting onto the bed, his fingers let mine go to brush my hair out the way.

"I like your hair down."

"I know."

"And that's why you wore it up tonight?" He asked amused.

I couldn't stop my face from flushing red but I nodded.

"Aaron?"

"Hmm.." He replied.

"You don't want me. So why can't I have that man?"

"That man had no good intentions. You would realise that if you were sober enough. I was looking out for you."

I frowned "Don't you like me anymore? Did I drool on your arm or snore?"

He smiled softly "No, you're perfect. It's just me."

"What is it? I can handle it."

He struggled to speak before shaking his head gently "It's personal baby, just close your eyes and sleep."

"But I want to know why you don't like me? You make me feel all tingly and then you took my tingles away."

He looked a little disappointed with himself over that. "One day those tingles will come back."

"With you?" I asked as my eyes struggled to stay open.

"Maybe. Maybe not."

I frowned at his answer, "Don't you want me?"

"Of course I do, why do you think I brought you home? I want you safe Luna.... There's just something about you that I can't let go of. Something that's in me.."

"Like a ghost?"

He smiled "Not quiet like that sweetie. Close those beautiful eyes."

I held his wrist in my hand and looked at him "Please don't leave me."

"Okay."

"You'll be here right?"

He nodded before kissing my forehead "Sleep that alcohol off."

"Night."

"Goodnight my Luna moon."
